    Might as well get the Z71 over a fully loaded LT. Only about $1500 more but you get a nicer interior, memory seat, and locking differential. My builds came out to $46k and 47.5k respectively.

      If you're pushing 50k on a 4 banger build, it's time to step up to full size and get a real engine. GM blew it just like Ford did w/Ranger. Way too expensive.

    It will be a good solid truck as long as the new updated 8L90 has no issues …. Reference the class action lawsuits (plural) surrounding the shudder/hard shifting of that transmission, we will see.

    The fronts definitely look more aggressive than the prev gen I like it. I just wish they'd stick a 5.3 in them & of course keep the smaller fuel efficient engines it really wouldn't hurt!

    • @kabloosh699
      @kabloosh699 Год назад +2

      As neat a V8 would be in these things that 2.7L engine at least on paper seems to be on par with that engine and produces more torque. For instance the 5.3L in the Silverado is producing 355 hp and 383 ft-lb of torque, while the 2.7L turbo is producing 310 hp and 430 ft-lb of torque if you get it in the high output version. The LT and Trail Boss get the mid tier version which produces 310 hp and 390 ft-lb of torque.

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 Год назад +1

      The 2.7 probably does not make sense in the Silverado. But in this truck that weighs more then 500 lbs less its going to be a beast. Got more torque then the V8 anyways. And that is what matters most in truck applications.

    • @AK-IT
      @AK-IT Год назад

      The 2.7L has torque at low end of the RPM range, you get to peak torque faster, similar to the diesel experience.
      The 383 ft-lb. torque of the 5.3L V8 2021 peaks at 4100 RPM and falls off gradually (for the Chevrolet Suburban 5.3L V8 2WD).
      The 348 ft-lb. torque of the 2.7L Turbo I-4 2019 peaks at 1500 RPM and sustains through to 4000 RPM (Chevrolet Silverado 2019, similar GM L3B in the 2023 Colorado).
      The base 2.7L Turbo I-4 option performs similarly to the 5.3L V8 at the low RPM range.
      At 1500 RPM, the 5.3L V8 outputs 265 ft-lb. torque.
      At 1500 RPM, the Base 2023 2.7L outputs 259 ft-lb. torque.
      Edit:
      Just looked up the Colorado 2.7L Turbo I-4 torque specs are as follows:
      - 2.7L Turbo Base is 260 ft-lb. @1200-4000 RPM
      - 2.7L Turbo+ is 391 ft-lb. @2000 RPM
      - 2.7L Turbo High is 430 ft-lb. @3000RPM

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 Год назад +1

      @@AK-IT For the full size I'd probably go with the 6.2. At over 500 lbs lighter the 2.7T will likely be a good fit on the Colorado.

    • @AK-IT
      @AK-IT Год назад

      @@HiPlains1 Agreed. Larger truck gets larger engine. OP wanted larger engine in "smaller" truck, but I like what Chevy has done with the 2.7L in the Colorado. especially with getting torque where you can feel it. Im usually cruising around town at 1500 RPM, so you not only get to peak torque faster but you get it all the time up to 4000 RPM.
