The day of my appointment at the dealership, the CEL was off, so they said they can't help. I tried taking it to AutoZone, they weren't able to help. THEN to top if all off, while recording this video, my infotainment is being unresponsive.

So since when is a truck that’s built for the trails have to have heated seats and leather steering wheels? Sounds like you want a pavement princess and should have gotten a different trim.

The Trail Boss interior was designed to have that "cheap" interior, plastic door panels, steering wheel, dash, etc was made for off roaders that when you get it dirty inside everything wipes down and cleans easier, I have the Z71 - 2023 - and I have alot nicer materials - door panels, leather steering wheel, seats, red stitching everywhere etc, and yes I needed the heated seats so I went with the Z71, the 2023 colorado is only slightly larger on the inside than the previous 2015- 2023s, I did learn by accident that when you hold down the unlock button on the keyfob for 5 seconds or more all of the windows will automatically lower themselves if the truck is running or not, I will have to pay attention to that when its raining or snowing or just in a shopping center parking lot, I guess it was made to let the heat out before you get in the truck? as for price nothings cheap anymore the average price of new vehicles is around $40,000 which puts it in the same price as the Tacoma and Frontier

4- halogen headlights, meh. Cheaper to replace.
5- back seat pockets and armrest... creature comforts. No big deal.

This is true. Really just wanted to point this out to others. If you're looking for "luxury" or at least a "nice" interior, look at the GMC Canyon, a Z71 Colorado, or a loaded LT Colorado.
The trail boss is a lifted work truck with a wider stance. Can only put but so much lipstick on a pig.
I will say, from looking at the trail boss from the outside, I think it looks the best out of any new Colorado or even Canyon. It looks mean, and I love that.

I've had a fully loaded w/moonroof 2024 Colorado ZR2 for 3 months, 3,300miles, and did 3 full days wheeling in Moab when it had 750mi on the clock, and a couple weekends did a 1/2 day wheeling up in CO. I had a check engine light (knock sensor 2) come on at 718mi, and the closest dealer (that I didn't buy it from - they didn't have any) got me right in, reset the light, checked everything including the wiring harnesses, and found nothing. It was a glitch, and there has been no other errors. I did recently have an issue with a bad drivers rear tire valve stem that was causing a slow leak, and Discount Tire took the wheel off, took the tire off, checked the inside for nail (lot of new houses being built down the street), put a new valve stem in, and re-mounted the wheel for free. If Vato Zone couldn't scan for your 2023, the results are meaningless. As far as your gripes, yes, I would easily trade a couple inches of bed length to get those extra inches in the rear seat. Yes even in the ZR2, the top of the door is hard plastic - don't care. Yes the dome light is incandescent - but SRSLY, who really gives a f@ck? I love the truck, has WAY more offroad capability than I do as a noob driver, and aside from mediocre gas mileage (I have another car for daily driving) which I EXPECTED as a truck, I love the thing. Don't like yours? Sell it then.

If you want heated seats you should have bought a Z71! Then add tires. When I bought my 2019 Crew Cab SB 4x4 WT, V6, I found one with every option available in a WT. That’s been a flawless runner, working hard for 63,000 trouble free miles, about 10k worth was towing at a Cat Scale certified 10,250 lbs CGVW. With ease and plenty of power towing a 26’ travel trailer. The truck came with the towing package and trailer brake control, appearance package that came in one color bumpers, door handles and grill, dark tinted windows and 16” alloy wheels. The WT Convenience Package with easy lift locking tailgate, cruise control, plus upgraded 7” touch screen with 6 speakers, Bluetooth and OnStar 4 G LTE WIFI, that’s great when traveling and camping! Not to mention the other advantages of OnStar, including 20% discount on insurance! Plus the skid plate under the transfer case. The best part? Was the out the door price, with dealer installed ZR2 type skid plate package that accommodates the dam air dam, of $34,500! Including a GM 100,000/84 mo bumper to bumper warranty! Then at 30,000 miles I had new struts/shocks installed, with Bilstein 5100’s, with the front set at 2”, and the rear with 1” blocks. That has really enhanced the ride and handling on an off road, especially speed bumps and flying down the beaches. I fit 265/75-16 Cooper Discoverer RTX tires at 32”. If I were to trade for another truck it would be a Gladiator. The worst part about the newer Colorado WT and LT, is the fact you can’t get 4x4, with LOW RANGE! At any price, only Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2 gets a two speed transfer.

We love our new 2023 Colorado Z71 FDE🥰. Power is amazing with plenty of zip 310HP/390TQ. One down side is the speed limmiter. With that much torque you’ll get there relatively quick, 98 I think….
One small issue we’ve had is with the blinker switch freezing or sticking when trying to change lanes. Applying force free’d the slightly sticky switch. However, It has happened more than once. Overall its a fun little truck to drive everywhere. We do only have a little over 2k on the odometer….🤞

As a fellow Trail Boss buyer, I agree I would like heated seats. I know it’s a WT with a lift and painted grille. But it’s not like it’s a major factory burden to option some nicer seats. Clearly joining the >$40K club doesn’t buy you the truck it used to.
Chevy cheaped out on some weird shit with this truck. The main thing that drives me crazy is the non-extendable window visors. I had to buy a stupid little clip on visor to cover the driver side window - otherwise the sun would just cook me.
I’d pay an extra $1.5-2k for factory heated front seats - I wouldn’t pay an extra $8k for no lift, stupid wheels, leather and a tech package. Nor do I want to drive around in the apocalypse-mobile that is the ZR2. Cool truck but way too flashy for my taste.

You're always taking a risk when you buy the 1st model year of ANY vehicle. That said, the TrailBoss is sh*t for what you pay. I'd go with the Z71 because it's far better equipped with much nicer interior and you can always upgrade the suspension later if you really need the capability (most people don't). I'm currently cross shopping the Colorado Z71 and Frontier Pro4x. The Pro4x is a better value and would likely be more reliable, but the Z71 is more capable as far as hauling and towing. It's a tough call..

That volume control is a push button OFF - ON too. The only problem on my new 2023 Chevy Colorado is that the headlights are on during the day when in AUTO Control. You're in the Bluetooth mode, switch out of that for the AM/FM Stations. I'm definitely old school, but you can't stay back in time ... Time waits for no man, they say. We just have to learn how to remedy the so called high tech glitched when they occur. I paid 44K for my Colorado LT 9 Radiant Red) but I have almost all the option as the Z71, included the lifetime bed protection, side SS step bars,, contoured mud flaps, high tech floor mats, paint shield, 7 year bumper to bumper, and 4 window shades (which I don't like the brand). I recently had the truck rust-proofed for almost $700. I'm a senior citizen (75), so this is the last vehicle I'll ever own, which I'll Will to my son. The Chevy Dealer was the only dealership that gave me money on my 21 yo Ford Ranger XLT which I purchased new in 2002, plus they gave me a military discount. So, the 2023 Chevy Colorado was a perfect match for me. With the Auto Workers going on strike, lucky me I already made 2023 new vehicle purchase, price of vehicles will skyrocket along with Auto Insurance for everyone ... Believe it!

It's closer to 70K or more. I love my 23 Canyon Elevation. I wanted a Denali but there were none available. It is a little short on storage space but I can handle that. You need to disconnect your battery ground for about 10 or 15 minutes and make sure all your fuses are pushed in good. That could be the trouble. It may have been interupted during a firmware update.

I believe yiur issue is an ECU problem. here is why, every toime you turn it off and on somethings the engine light is on and sometimes it is off. this lets me belive is an internal computer problem.2nd clue is the screen frren up on you, that also tells me is an ECU update.{ i could be complete worh tho}. nevertherless, here we go... I recenly both the 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 and let me tell you is pretty cool for me. (keep in mind this is my first truck ever!) so, take my opion as an amatuer reviewer. The plastic interior parts are not an issue. It's a truck, it will get dirty. it's easier to clean. You might have a point on a luxury car. Not on a truck. Getting a back seat adds 10-15k to the price tag. The backseat is only a great feature if you plan on hauling an RV and taking the family out. If you want a luxury recreational vehicle with a backseat you should buy an SUV. Trucks are for work more than anything. Stop loading up trucks with luxury interiors and backseats and then complaining about the price tag.
