7 EXPERT CLEANING TIPS YOU NEED TO BE USING: ruclips.net/video/-C-ic2H24OU/видео.html
Hi, I watch regularly your videos, it helps me clean my house. I recently got all the items for the diffuser some reason I’m not getting any small I use 91 percent rubbing alcohol instead of vodka. The issue is I’m not getting any smell out of it. I used tree tree oil and Eucalyptus’s oil 30 drops combined.
I keep trying to make these but I end up pouring the vodka in my glass of orange juice...
Mark Pugh 😂
Mark Pugh. Haha!
Yeah I bet you hate that when it happens 😂
Where did you stick the reeds then?
Mark Pugh 😆🤣 I have that problem with my daughter! I buy she mixes it with her orange juice and walla my defused doesn’t work !! Now what too d?
Thanks Melissa your video was so much better than others on RUclips. Much more thorough and your measurements made sense! I love that you are so real with your teachings.
I just did my spring yard cleaning and cut back our ornamental grass reeds. I trimmed the tops off and went down about 12 inches. pulled a few chaffs off the reed and was good to go. I Love Free. Thanks for your recipe
Where has this video been all my life?? Love your channel!! Thank you so much for all the awesome tips on all things household/cleaning!
I'm so in love with this project! Can't wait to try!
Hi Amanda!Instead using this reed diffusers ,take a tissue paper.Fold it square and add 5 drops of your favourite essential oil and keep it where you need. Change the tissue after a week. Trust me it works wonder than these reed diffusers.Have a fragrance day.
My World My Music tissue paper like a Kleenex or tissue paper like you use for gifts ?
not just a regular toilet paper tiissue ? you mean hand towel tissue ?
I saw a video of those 5 minute craft experts you know where they teach you hacks for an easier way to get things done.... Anyway, they where talking about how to keep unwanted insects and rodents out with plants. One was to have a fresh pot of peppermint to keep ants out. Another was lavender to keep flies out... But the hack here was to add three to 7 drops of essential oil to a sponge and put it in a jar.... So I guess sponges are the new reeds....
eh
I've been going to get a diffuser....well, that is before I watched this!!! Brilliant!! Thanks Melissa!!
I don't have a reed diffuser at the moment but my favourite oils to use in my humidifier are lavender, bergamot and peppermint.
The oil I have been using is rather unusual: myrrh. It works a treat and gives a subtle and unusual scent.
LOVE!!!!!!!! Can't wait to do this! Awesome video!
This is such a easy to follow tutorial. I am very excited to give this a try💕
You're such a fun person and I love your energy! I was looking for DIY reed diffusers and stumbled upon your channel. Very glad that I did! Thank you so much for sharing your enthusiasm and tip :-) Much love from The Netherlands
Very easy to follow, refreshing, top notch video. Thank you so much!
This was awesome. So glad I found your channel. Thanks!
So excited to try this!
I see a lot of comments on people who tried this and it did not work, what a bummer I was excited to try this!
Excellent idea! ....I can't wait to try this project...I will have fabulous scent in every room! thanks for sharing😆
I love this DIY! Please make more like this !!
Love the classic lavender/vanilla mix and anything citrus like. Because we have dogs I will continue to use the DYI deodorizer baking/soda + oil version you taught us but can't wait to try the diffuser with eucalyptus when I am sick :). Love you guys!
Oh yeah baby - love that mix too! Enjoy...well, I hope you don't get sick actually. You can even try this when you're not sick!
I love your attitude
Like many other commenters, it didn’t work for me either.
After thinking it over here are my thoughts about it:
1. You mentioned that water and oil don’t mix. That’s true. But Vodka is made out of about 60% water isn’t it?!?
2. More over you said the vodka is used to thin the oil. How exactly can a solvent that contains 60% water (vodka) thin any oil?
3. You mentioned that if we choose to use rubbing alcohol we should use one with at least 90% because the 75% version won’t work. So how would you expect vodka, which only has 40% alcohol to work??
4. I’m just sad I wasted the ingredients on this alchemy trial before thinking it through..
I came across with the same problem with the alcohol volume.... I used the 40% rubbing alcohol just to experiment for the first time, but it did not work. I bought the same vodka bottle today but because of this video and your observation I might as well just drink it all up.... Where can I find a more strong rubbing alcohol at?
@@mrltnpapi I just use this idea and it does work really good. I used the reed stick that is porous.
@@mrltnpapi you can actually use an unscented "carrier" oil to put the scented oil in to thin it out!
You need to use PGA (perfume grade ethyl alcohol to make it evaporate)
Flip it?
Very informative! You pointed out a couple of items other diy videos did not! Thank you!
Love this idea. I have lots of amber bottles that I am not using and it does work. I use the very porous reed stick. I also use grape seed oil as carrier oil, clear vodka, peppermint, lemon and frankincense essential oil. Smell is strong.
Thanks ur recipe looks great. What proportion of essential oil do u use?
@@nitesh17101 i use no more than 3-5%
when you winked after saying to move the energizing one into the bedroom for a bit, i laughed harder than i have all week
I soooo want to do this !!! Love it!
I love this project. I have numerous bottles I've been looking to use for something (empty soy sauce and other nicely shaped empties). The only thing is, they are clear. I'm thinking of painting them--either metallic or something else to go with my home and my friends. Thanks for the extra push I needed. I'll try to post them on instagram when I'm done.
Pretty cool. I'll be trying this soon.
Lovee it and you as always !!! Thank you soo much Melissa !!!! ☺️
My new home project to accomplish 💯💞magnificent technique
Love love love it!
Glad to know how to do this. Thank you for sharing!
You are most welcome!
Thank you, I'm going to try it!
Great video Melissa. Thank you for putting it up. Love it. Will definitely try.
You are welcome - have fun with it!
I'm so glad I found your channel, I wish I'd found it sooner. My first attempts at reed diffusers didn't work, and now I know why! This is an older video so I don't know if you'll see my comment but I have a question for you.
I have one of those wax melting room air fresheners and I was wondering if you have any recommendations or DIY recipes to use instead of the pre-made and very limited in scent choices wax cubes. I really hope to hear from you or from your subscribers. Thanks!
Great Idea I really loves this
I had the best results with sunflower oil, plus it’s cheap. 😉
Thank you I was looking for this recipe for diffuser
Great video!! I am going to do this!
Good Presentation did make it aromatic ...good detailing
Dear Melissa :) I'm becoming a real cleaning freak ( which is very much out of caracter for me! ) I'm telling everyone about your website. I now find I'm more organised, I enjoy using baking soda, vinegar and homemade products more and more. Microfiber cloth is my middlename. My house is full of spray bottles with homemade tag on them... You convinced me where ecologists had failed , because I guess, it seemed like fun to do it your way. Thank you for your creativity. :)
Thank you for the helpful lesson.
Thank you so very much! Your tutorial is great. I too love fragrances in all my rooms. I have been using ree diffusers for years, paying a hight for replacement oils. Thank you for saving me money. Do you have ideas for catalytic diffser oil?
just bought a large packet of reeds so this video was perfect timing
easy to watch, kept my attention, informative
Love your videos!
i actually like the way this woman talk , its not annoying
Hi lovely, I upcycle pretty bottles from a good will store here in Australia. I use safflower oil, fragrance and methylated spirits. Works a treat! Love your channel!
So Melissa video works? You can smell the fragance? Some people are saying it doesn’t work.
What would be a great combination for the living room? 😊
I love this! Thank you :)
Definitely trying this.
You will love it!
Thank you for this!
Can’t wait ! Will be back with feedback
Very informative thank you!
Love this video once you've used up the batch and need to make a new one should you use new reeds? TIA
Awesome!!! Thank you! 🥰🌹
I love this… thank you Melissa.. is there a precise equation of carrier oil to essential oil and agent carrier? Thanks.
I think I will do a Reed Diffuser DIY party with a few girlfriends. Some food, drinks music and fun. I think I will also get some pretty contact paper to make the bottles pretty. They will get to take home the diffuser in a party favor bag. Thanks again Melissa!!!!
Great video thank you. Please tell me, can you reuse reeds or best to use fresh each time? And was it a tablespoon of vodka?
I want to try this. I have a really pretty ceramic small vase with a small opening at the top. Would ceramic work as well as a glass container?
I didn't get your defuser smell but i enjoyed your one eye close assurance that the smell would be solo wonderful. hug
it's a good Idea for me ...... I'm think it over about it make for myself
+Norma , Gerald Steven Hernandez Pride I hope you enjoy it!
You are amazing !!!
I already do love smelling my own creations 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi just wanted to know if one could use coconut oil also?
Amy
Great video!!
Thank you so much, I am going to use an old stubby beer bottle for my Reed Diffuser.
I got one of these for christmas years ago and I loved it.. then I lost it. perhaps I'll give this a go!
Try it - I think you'll really love it!
Love love love you video, great idea, thanks beautiful!!!!
This is good to know.
You are most welcome!!
I was looking for creating my own but wasn't sure how to ,thank you ever so much .
A question what are the safest oils with pet around specially a puppy about 3 months old .
Thanks in advance .
By the way I am a big fan of yours, you've inspired me a lot ☺
Tip: brew dr Kombucha bottle is ideal! and you're reusing :)
Sounds good I'm new to this diffusing with eo
But I just put a few drops into my old empty gallon water bottle which I cut at the bottom so it's wide then I wrap it in strong zinc oxide tape to make it look half decent with water and leave in any room and it works grand.. or just use the old diffusers that are finished with bamboo sticks I score down the middle to make that tunnel if you can't get the ones you n video but good video I subbed with that ole wink
For the bedroom idea 😂
Gonna have ta try that but not bad for a bloke me thinks..essential oils are so helpful to us big time
Keep on truck ✌🇨🇮
Fabulous idea. Thank you! Make them from now on. Spend a fortune on the brand ones. Entertaining video too ;-)
any options for the carrier solutions that work aside from vodka and rubbing alcohol ? thanks!
Can you use grape seed oil instead? 💕
Nice video, clear and eazy to make a Diffuser, like it. ;D. and I also recommend the oil I used, Like artnaturals, ISUDA, new, I bought them on amazon
Hi Melissa. How do you clean fly screen security doors without removing them? Thanks :)
thanks for sharing, but how much i can put in a bottle aborto 1/2 cupones? 1 teaspoon of alcohol? and 30 drops of essential oil
Damn. Cool. Thanks!!!!!
Hi I was just wondering if you have to replace the reeds each time you refill or change the scent? Or can you just wash them off with soap and water? Thanks
Thank you for sharing this with us! It's insane how expensive diffusers are and I already have most of the stuff needed so I'll try this out soon. (:
Enjoy!
Your videos energies me to move and work at home.. Thank you..
I love sweet essences.. What do suggest me to try?
How about doing a video about the cleaning issues that any mom has in cleaning houses with kids in all ages ( FULL HOUSE ).. Especially.. How to get red of the milk smell from sheets ..
Can you use fragrance oil? I like floral scents like frangipani, Rose etc but have only managed to find these in fragrance oils. If so do we use the same amount? Is there a difference between the small reeds and the longer ones?
could u use something like bourbon instead of alcohol for like a vanilla burbon scent? I love that candle!!!
I am absolutely going to try it now that I have the ratios for ingredients! thanks so much! On a different note, I've just tried baking soda on my mattress -- it's been a real bear! We bought it from Costco and it came vacuum packed. We had read the smell would last awhile, that wives noticed it more than women, but it's been AWFUL! We've aired it out, washed the sheets and mattress pad/protector often, my husband can still smell it when he tries, but I wake up with a headache every morning! Today I coated it in baking soda and we'll vacuum it off, put the clean everything on and say a little prayer. We may keep it up for awhile then resort to a bowl of vinegar in the middle of the bed!
The way you play with those reeds baby
I was wondering can we use glycerin for the carrier medium ?
Hi, can I use refined almond oil? Would that work as well as the sweet almond oil?
Can I reuse the reeds for the next mixture I make? Or do the get "used up" after a while?
Maybe I missed it but I only heard you talk about the price being a downside of store-bought diffusers. The ingredients are often really toxic! Thanks for sharing this. I am absolutely going to try and find where I can buy what I need to make my own. What a great investment.
That's another issue - this is all natural and stuff we are comfortable having in our home. Enjoy it!
What brand vanilla oil do you use? I know you like that in combo
I can not see any links for recipes ? love diffusers so glad you made this video as i have spent a fortune over the years now i will make my own :-)
LOVE ESSENTIAL OILS AND WHAT THEY DO TO HELP US IN LIFE AND I LIKE THE DESIGN ON YOUR BLOUSE WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS COLOR AND BLOUSE VERY PRETTY
Hey very useful video... love from india..
Can we use Coconut oil as carrier oil?
I never finished making mine before drinking all the vodka.
HA! I knew I'd be hearing about that!
+Clean My Space ...... it's a good Idea for me ...... I'm think it over about it make for myself
Norma , Gerald Steven Hernandez Pride ..
😁😁😁😁😁😉
@@juliabranca1233 😃😃
What would you say are the best peony and cherry blossom essential oils?
What do you use for vanilla fragrance in your reed diffuser? Pure Vanilla extract?
Love this! I love the idea of mixing my own scents. I love the smell of lavender, but I'm allergic to lavender. Maybe I can figure out a way to get a similar smell, without actually having to use lavender lol
Bergamot is nice, not quite lavender but similar in the calming effects. I also love geranium which reminds me of lavender a bit...have fun with it!
Use Linalool and Linalyl Acetate
Melissa, I did everything you said and it smells nothing! I don't understand what went wrong. Could you help me please?
Hey you know what? You should do a video or series of videos about cleaning with limitations. For example, I have knee problems so I can't get on my hands and knees to clean grout, or cleans under a desk or other tight spaces, and because of the way my home is, if I want to fill a bucket or something with water to use with my mop, I have to lift the bucket and fill it with water at which point it becomes way too heavy, so I've been looking for a solution for mopping that doesn't involve filling something with a large amount of water.
So maybe a video or more addressing those kinds of problems and how to work around them.
I have thought about working with an OT to create some videos on this topic. It's something I've been asked about a lot...so it is on my radar. I'll do what I can! Thanks for asking :)
Awesome! Hope to see it one day. Thanks for responding.
Aedelias I would like to see more aimed at those of us with disabilities too; including fatigue related.
Aedelias did you ever find a solution? you can buy a dustpan and position it that the water hits the large section of the pan then runs along the handle before dropping off the edge into a bucket
Look into a Vileda mop. It’s like a reusable swiffer but way better!! You don’t need a heavy gross bucket , you have a small reservoir you fill with whatever cleaner you want, and there’s pads on the “head” that are washable so very eco friendly! I went from hating mopping to liking it!
