@Nathan Haimson - yes agree sometimes hard to do it every day. Easier to put off then face it. Or sometimes want to purge and organize then take everything out and then too overwhelmed to put it back better
Here’s something I figured out that works better and is super easy. You can clean the tub when you are in it naked with a harmless substance ..by using shampoo and a scrub brush on it. It totally cleans it. Haven’t tried it on the tile yet or faucets but who knows..if you can do everything this way it’s super easy.
I like to finger smear a few drops of essential oil (I like vanilla or sandalwood) on the inside of the cardboard tube on a new roll of toilet paper. Keeps a light fresh scent in the bathroom without adding another item to wipe down during the weekly cleaning. The spinning of the roll during usage helps distribute the scent.
Lol I bought a special toilet roll holder many years ago that actually had replaceable scent tab. It kept things fresh. Then months after I could never find the replacements. So now I still have the plastic roller without any freshener
put baking soda in a dish like you used and add a few drops of essential oil and stir. Makes a great air freshener. I also put a tea light candle in the center for added decoration and the heat makes the smell pop.
rsfff that's a good question. it could have something to do with it being a scented 'oil' that keeps it from being absorbed. I don't mix the oil and baking soda completely all together either. I make a little paste in the middle and sit a tea light candle on top and just the baking soda around that. it would probably have a lot to do with what kind and strong of smells you're trying to absorb.
I've been doing a daily stove top simmer for the holidays & absolutely love the aromas! I've used fresh ginger, cinnamon & cloves, lemons, limes & orange peels, citrus, peppermint & vanilla extracts, essential oils...There are lots of natural options to use individually or combined for unique fragrances... They all smell wonderful!
For energy and upbeat, my favorite combo is eucalyptus lemon. For calming, I use lavender vanilla. And I keep a cotton ball w/peppermint in rx bottle for a quick stress release, relief from nausea etc. I carry 1in my purse too. Couple whiffs of peppermint works Everytime
I found a bottle of Tabu perfume (a vintage fragrance) at a thrift store. I can't wear it because it 'turns' on me, but it was my grandma's signature fragrance. I put a few drops on cotton balls stuffed into a small draw string sachet and hung that in my craft room. It was like being with grandma while I was creating! I like to simmer "winter" spices: cloves, cinnamon, ginger, mace (an Indian spice from the nutmeg tree seed covering), and nutmeg (from the nutmeg tree seed itself). I do this every time I'm having guests over for a late-Fall or Winter gathering. I also love the scent of grapefruit. My mother (born in 1935) taught me that when I peel any citrus fruit (tangerines, lemons, oranges, or grapefruit) I can put the peels into a bowl to release their essential oils into the air for a few hours. You can also add them to a simmer. Note that the essential oils are in the peel; no need to sacrifice the inner part of the fruit. Eat the fruit (or juice it) and simmer just the peels. YUM. Another yummy scent is to add apple peels to the "winter" spice simmer. Other nice natural scents: fresh-cut or dried lavender flowers; macerated fresh mint leaves (just mush them in a mortar with a pestle or in a bowl with the back of a spoon); rainwater (open the windows to let fresh air in when it's raining, unless the wind is blowing in gusts of rain which will damage your wood and fabrics); sunlight (clip pillows and linens to a clothesline in the sun and they'll have a marvelous scent when you bring them back inside); baking any kind of yummy food, e.g. cookies or brownies or a rosemary roasted chicken (the "cookie trick" is a old one used by realtors who want to make a home seem more inviting during an open house). Things that work against you: seafood, tobacco, cleaning products with strong and acrid artificial scents (even some "natural" products leave behind a sulfur odor which reminds your nose of farts!!!), and anything musty, from damp gym clothes, to dirty socks, to over-used towels, to dirty sponges or wash cloths in the kitchen or bath. I throw my kitchen sponge away once per week, put my towels to completely dry in front of a fan after each use, and bleach-wash them weekly with an extra rinse to take out the bleach scent.
The garbage disposal can be a stinker too. Grind citrus peels and ice to help deodorize. If it's really bad, use baking soda first, just dump in about 1/2 cup, let sit for about 15 minutes, then pour in some water just off the boil. Then use the peels and ice after to grind away anything that might be lingering. Also, if you are trying to deodorize the air in your kitchen from onions, garlic, curry, fish, frying oil or burnt toast, use the stovetop simmer OR put a few slices of lemon into a Pyrex glass measuring cup with 3 to 4 cups of water and let it boil in the microwave for 4 to 5 minutes. An added bonus is that the lemon scented steam will allow you to easily clean and wipe down the interior of the microwave too.
I'm from the Caribbean so we usually have our houses opened. But I love ginger, cinnamon and our local thyme and bay leaf which are different locally in Barbados
I love boiling cinnamon sticks and Apple slices. I've also tried the oranges, apples, and cinnamon sticks. That's a nice combo as well. I'll try your combo next with oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves and vanilla extract. Thanks for the tip!
Scents I adore is pure ylang ylang, a forest scent, the smell of "cashmere" as in body shops shea butter or dove's cashmere body wash. Sometimes I like monoi, french lily, rose. Absolutely love vanilla essential oil. Fresh cut lemon with salt in it can refresh the fridge too.
I love the cinnamon, cloves, orange and vanilla extract boil-all-day-smell-all-day-thingy! I tried it and it turned out uh-amaaazzzinnng! Love it! Thank you!
Great tips!! I always add lemon essential oil, or orange essential oil to my vacuum cleaner filter. Makes the house smell amazing. Plus, it deodorizes!!
I use a clean emptied parmesan bottle (like your glass bottle with coffee)... Baking soda with my fave essential oil, sprinkle on carpet/upholstery, vacuum.
Hi Melissa! I truly enjoy watching all your cleaning video tips. I told my family you were my new best friend and have put to use many of your ideas. I plan to make use of the essential oils as well for helping keep a great smelling home. I did want to share with you and viewers that have pets, that certain oils can be harmful or irritating to their health. Here is a list I found at my veterinarian: Camphor, Citrus oils, Melaleuca or tea tree oil, Pennyroyal oil, and oil of Winter Green. Thanks and keep those tips coming!
I love the stovetop scents... I call them "scentpots" I do them by season. Right now I do something very similar to yours... Orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, allspice.... so yum! In the spring, I love doing a citrus medley with lime, lemon, orange and some vanilla, so on and so forth. For easy/thrifty gift giving also, (I did this for everyone in my office last Christmas) I made gift bags with all the needed ingredients packaged up all cute with a printed instruction card so that they could make their own scent pots for Christmas day.
OOOH, OHHH! Here's my tip! Before you vacuum the carpet, throw some whole cloves on it and let it sit for a few minutes. When you vacuum them up you'll freshen the carpet, get the scent blowing through the vacuum exhaust, and freshen the vacuum itself!
Spearmint, lemon, orageno, lavender, and rosemary. Two - 4 drops of eucalyptus oil and a drop of peppermint oil. May add patchouli oil. Fab! I get a bit tired of the cinnamon/apple/vanilla scents post holidays.
May sound weird, but I put Mr. Clean w/ febreeze in my diffuser, or sometimes a bleach alternative mix. I loooove how it makes my home smell. So fresh and clean.
I always love the way orange peelings or the half lemon (after juicing), help clean and freshen the garbage disposal and make the sink smell great. I also simmer them in the winter, humidifies the house and love the scents with vanilla or cinnamon.
Sweet orange, lemon, and vanilla is a great essential oil blend that I love for the kitchen. Cedarwood is probably my all time favorite essential oil though...it smells amazing with everything!
I'd be really careful about putting essential oil on your furnace filter in case of fire. I've also had a lightbulbs explode on me when using essential oil on it. Be careful, y'all.
I have an aluminum fragrance ring that sits on top of the bulb, and it hold the oil in a groove. Got it sometime in the 70's. Works great. We used regular scented oils back then that we bought at the candle stores. My favorite was mulberry. www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=J7QOL8PT&id=A3F69DFA6862657B24DFA79709712287DAF505A0&thid=OIP.J7QOL8PT90elsToCyMAwJgCxD_&q=scented+oil+blue+ring&simid=608034381557139448&selectedIndex=0&ajaxhist=0
I started making my own liquid potpourri and it is cheaper to make it yourself. Have made fruit spice, apple cinnamon and pear. Want to make a tropical scent next. It's real easy and I also can mine, since there is so much of it. Plus, it is safer to use, since no chemicals are in it, just all natural. This is a must to do and will have no regrets
Also adding dryer sheets into your drawers keeps things smelling good. And when you change them out don’t throw them away I use them to clean my chrome fixtures and even my mirrors my cotton ball cotton swab holder cup for rinsing teeth they are a metal looking but they get stains and water spots easy! But the dryer sheets clean them spotless also, the chrome on your toilet paper holder and handle. Makes them shine my mixture of oils is Lemon 🍋 and Mint one of my favorites. I love Eucalyptus and Cinnamon not mixed but just to use in different rooms. 😉💕
I was in your position once. I’d go to school and my friends would notice my textbooks smelling like cigarettes. My parents refused to smoke outdoors whilst I was also in the house (even though we have a big back veranda and our climate is milk all year around). Given your comment was 4 years ago, I hope you’re out of this situation now. If not, hang in there and start figuring where to and how you might want to leave home once you’re finished high school!
I always mix in my favourite fabric softener with water, sort of 3 parts water 1 part fabric sofetener and spray it all over the soft furnishings of the house. It smells like clean laundry all the time, I love it :)
Oh how stupid are women. Dryer sheets are poison. Carcinigenic. Dryer shits were made for winter use to stop static, dryers are made today with humidity detectors, no need to use sheets, how do u give cancer to women? Make it smell artificially pretty.
Great video. In the summer, I like the combo of basil, lemon/lime, mint and rosemary. (I have a lot of herbs in the summer and use them simmered in water.) In winter I like your combo of vanilla, oranges cinnamon and a few cloves.
My favorite way to add not only a lovely scent combo, but also some needed humidity in my arid, winter, forced-air heated home, is to fill my large crock pot with water and add: cinnamon, cloves (either whole or ground), lemon or orange (fresh slices/peels or minced, dry), and from time-to-time some vanilla extract. It is like extending the winter holidays till I can open the windows in spring! Thank you, Melissa, for always giving such sound advice in such a positive upbeat way. Congratulations, your RUclips is one of a handful which invites people to subscribe in a positive way. Drives me nuts, even from people who are otherwise talented and lovely, when they say, "Don't forget to click that subscribe button." "Remember to click that subscribe button," eliminates four key strokes, and do "not" (negative) forget (which most will take as a hint to forget) is much more effective.
Thank you for the vinegar idea!I had a dead mouse trapped in my kitchen for days until it was found and cleaned out... yikes! I cleaned, and cleaned, burned scented candles, plug-ins, incense, and underlying smell would not leave, till I left a few containers with vinegar around this morning and came back to work. I came back to a rat free smelly home!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
Silvia Sune I had the same thing. Dead something caught in the wall. This was quite some time ago, before cleaning hack videos. Heck, before RUclips. Anyhoo - I tried boiling pans and pans of vinegar but it still took days. Prolly shoulda just left it out on the counter. I hope I never smell that dead smell ever again.
This is late, but I had a skunk come in through the doggy door at my mom’s house and it unfortunately sprayed me and the whole room. My mom laid out some saucers that had sliced bread soaked in vinegar and it was back to normal in record time! Certainly not one day, but much faster than you’d expect for a skunk at point blank range!
@Teela Tequila how to remove: sink or tub grime, build up in oven, stinky litter box residue, even corrosion on car battery termals! This cleaning hack is simple, cheap, natural, non-toxic & gets better results than any chemicals. Fill a spray bottle with white vinager. Sprinkle baking soda directly onto the surface. Apply spray, let it bubble, then scrub with brush. An old tooth brush is perfect for small spaces. Rinse with water & repeat untill clean. Get amazing results!
My Mum is also from Blackpool. My dad used to have the guys over for poker back in the 70's and she also used bowls of vinegar to get rid of the smokey smell. I have also used bowls of vinegar to get rid of skunk smell after dog was sprayed.
thank you so much!!!!!you just saved my life!!!. i moved to a new rent and the place smelled awful ,some cooking smell i couldn't remove no matter what,i used everything: candles, incense, wax warmer.,open windows and nothing worked...that trick of the vinegar around the house in small pots worked like a charm,i got rid of the smell in two days!!!!now i keep them everywhere lol ,my house smell nice!!!!thank you and your mother in law!!!!
Hi Love... some rude, unappreciative and obnoxious sourfaces , are whining about music . I didn't even hear anything else because I was absolutely enjoying your sweet presentation ..... and many, many more of us appreciate you and your info. And of course you are Canadian .... The Best. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO SHOWER HIS WARMTH AND BLESSINGS ON YOU AND YOURS .!!!!!
I use orange peels with clove and cinnamon or apple core with vanilla and pumpkin spice, there's no wasting anything around here. I also make all purpose cleaner by soaking lime peels in white vinegar then straining it, smells great, but the acid from the lime makes it a little less versatile.
I love your tips! We have had 4 dogs living here at one time over the years and every spring my house smells of doggie odors. I used to knock it out by burning the FP once or twice in winter but haven't done that down here in TX in a while. I am trying the baking soda first, as I didn't want to put out the vinegar and it spill. I didn't have any cool bowels to set out the baking soda so I used old unused bowels like candle holders. They look decorative. Oh, I did put some baking soda in my blue vase on the mantle, LOL No one can see it so I thought why not!
You can simmer or boil white vinegar, and then take the pan of steaming white vinegar help all around the house or where the smells are and it gets rid of the smells like that I've done that before it' gets rid of smells really good that way
Well funny story I went to school packed a cucumber and I forgot about it! I remember when I opened my bag that weekend and it stunk up my room and I use some of you hacks and girl you help me with the smell and I sleep so good with that sent thanks
I also put about 10 drops or so in my bucket of water when mopping the floors. I add Simple Green all purpose cleaner after I fill the bucket with water & then usually choose a Citrus oil like Sweet Orange & a little lemon oil. Dunk my mop into that to mix a little & mop. Makes the room smell great, doesn’t last that long, but citrus has natural anti bacterial properties to it.😉
I have a lemongrass bush, it grows like crazy. My grandmother and mom make lemongrass tea. Just simmer the lemongrass as tea, drink it and your house will smell so good
We keep a box of apple spice tea or orange spice chai on hand, and use a couple of tea bags in our simmer pot on the stove. It’s quick and smells cozy and delicious.
Nice list of methods. I would highly recommend to add to it indoor plants. It is very good for purifying your place's air such as Snake Plant and peace lily.
One of my best tips for smells is for when someone throws up and that *smell* tries to engulf the whole house.. COFFEE GROUNDS! As soon as someone misses the trashcan, whip out your canister and sprinkle the grounds on any exposed bile. It 100% eliminates the nasty smell and makes it easier to clean because it absorbs so much moisture.
Loved your ideas. Liked and subscribed keep them coming. One thing I do for absorbing moisture when packing up the Christmas tree, clothes, or even on or around your electronics etc. Those little tiny silica packs that you get when you buy shoes. Never throw them out. They are fantastic. Plus I make my own. By from $tree their cheap tea bags. Go to walmart and purchase a cat litter that is 100% silica. Empty tea out of pouches. Put in the silica and staple it twice. Perfect moisture absorber.
Melissa, doesn't baking soda clog or settle into the motor of your vacuum cleaner? I was told by a repair man not to use those commercial powdered carpet fresheners because they lessen the life of your vacuum. I love all the tips, thank you so much!
+Sharon La Tour Clean the baking soda out after each use. I've done it for years and it has been fine...but that said, I wouldn't do it ALL the time since yes, the finer particles can be tough on the motor.
OMG, I don't know why I didn't think of that. When I use my crock pot I usually let it cook throughout the night and can't wait to turn it off by morning because the smell is so strong. The coffee grinds are a cool idea as well. Thank you so much!
I love the smell of balsamic fir!! I know it is a holiday scent.. but the Village Candle, Balsamic Fir - is realistic and I just love the house when it is lit.. all through December :)
Another great one is to put fabuloso lavender(the cleaning agent) in a container (rubber is good), then put that container in a pot filled half way with water. Turn it on a low heat and your house will smell amazing!
I 💗this! I also love the scent of ginger. Whenever anyone is sick 😷 in my house w/ a belly ache. I make ginger tea w/ginger root. I also have a no shoe policy. Totally agree that it helps track germs and filth in the house.
You are a life saver. I live in a studio apartment and have 2 cats and one dog and it can be really really smelly. I tried simmering coffee grounds and vanilla and it was heaven!
So true, I myself am allergic to certain oils like lavender, blood orange, spearmint... I paid lotsa money for some big bottles of these oils never expecting allergic reactions as severe headaches, nausea. I wasted $$ and time. 😰 But I love 💚 peppermint and euchalyptus. 😊
Vanilla and Custard Fragnent...Here in Australia we even have "Baby Powder" straight away I went back to my childhood memories of My Mother putting it on all 4 children after our shower or bath ....I can still remember that Beautiful Scent...What beautiful memories. You have put in my minď..Thankyou Beautiful Lady xxx
baking soda science is fairly simple, its a base, so it reacts with acids. Many odors are acids, so this helps deodorize. Vinegar is the opposite You can get a base that works like baking soda in bulk at the local cement supplier, because lime is the main ingredient that makes cement basic so that it is liquid, then solidifies. I used lime very successfully to solve an odor problem of epic proportions last year.
I love to keep my home smelling good, I used essential oils and diffuser for instant smelling nice and its something that will benefit my body, mind and well being.
If you're worried about that, make a little aluminum foil cup to put on the bulb and add the oil to it. But, yeah, you're supposed to add it to a cold bulb. Clean the dust off your lightbulbs with sponge dampened with essential oil and water - gets the toughest dust off and leaves a great smell behind.
Beth D, they have a ring type thing you add the essential oil or fragrance oils on it and place it on top of the light bulb. You can find it in Walmart or some stores go to the fragrance isles.
A pretty basket filled with potpourri and small Christmas tree lights by the door. Cheery & says welcome home all year long. As the fragrance fades spritz a little essential oil to refresh the potpourri.
I use vanilla essence!! I put a few drops in an oven safe bowl/pan of water and heat in the oven or boil in a pan and the smell goes right through my house. My house smells like a bakery!! 😀💕
My favorite is to put some laundry detergent on to boil! 1 tablespoon in a pot, and if you want to, put some clean white socks in there and see those get WHITE! Doube win. The boiling water removes the residue that is in the socks, making them whiter.
Super tips! I'm definitely using them starting when I'm done with this comment. Some of my favorite home smell scents, in addition to the ones you mentioned are: lavender, French vanilla, mango, orange, mint, and hints or diluted smells of Downy, fresh linen, almond, strawberry, peony, or sweet pea (I know this isn't complete; I almost always forget something when I make these lists). I can't use, and therefore don't like, any perfumes or scents that aren't mostly and preferably completely natural. Even an undertone of these in a product sets off migraines and they are horrible; I dread walking into some home and elevators in general because of it. The only time I prefer an unfresh home is if my only alternative to make it smell fresh is some type of perfume scent. I also love fresh air - it's really one of my favorite things do to because stale air doesn't freshen up well any other way. Love your videos and I look forward to more.

Bruno what diffuser do you use
Lovie Fitzpatrick Honestly I have different ones that I’ve used from Hobby lobby, bed Bath and beyond

Cloves and cinnamon are my fav mix! Yes smells heavenly good

My mother used to put bay leaves around the kitchen to keep ants out. I don't know if it worked, or not.
I love boiling cinnamon sticks and Apple slices. I've also tried the oranges, apples, and cinnamon sticks. That's a nice combo as well. I'll try your combo next with oranges, cinnamon sticks, cloves and vanilla extract. Thanks for the tip!
I’m a dude and this channel is phenomenal. Been having fridge odor, general odor and smoking odor in my place! This hits all of it
Scents I adore is pure ylang ylang, a forest scent, the smell of "cashmere" as in body shops shea butter or dove's cashmere body wash.
Love it! Thank you!
My mom’s been boiling ingredients (same as you used) since the 80s, especially during the holidays. It makes the house smell amazing.
Great tips!! I always add lemon essential oil, or orange essential oil to my vacuum cleaner filter. Makes the house smell amazing. Plus, it deodorizes!!
OMG! Never thought of that, great idea!!
Gini McCardle njnl
+Fructus Dea That's a GREAT gift idea, I think we may include this idea in an upcoming video - thanks for watching and sharing!

:) Thanks Im glad you like! Love your channel!! You have improved my home SO much!!!
awww.. that's very nice!!
How long does it last though? Is it only one day? Because that would be expensive for me to use all that food to do it instead of eating it lol
I keep a grapefruit essential oil spray and a eucalyptus essential oil spray. They're not too Christmas-y and they make everything nice.
May sound weird, but I put Mr. Clean w/ febreeze in my diffuser, or sometimes a bleach alternative mix. I loooove how it makes my home smell. So fresh and clean.
Thank you for your kindness and letting us know these little tricks, appreciated 😊

Erika Joy thanks for heads up
I know that happen to me to
Erika Joy i also had a light bulb explode. I was told you cant use the cheap thin bulbs. They need to be the thicker more expensive bulbs.

I love the vinegar one the best! I filled up the bowl of indoor fountain rather than a bowl. Perfect!
as a teen with people in the house who refuse to stop smoking, i highly appreciate this.
It smells like clean laundry all the time, I love it :)
that seems a very good idea I will def try it
I've been doing that for years and I love it. Homemade febreeze ftw. 😊 some people put in a dash of vanilla and/or baking soda but I'm too lazy.
Oh how stupid are women. Dryer sheets are poison. Carcinigenic. Dryer shits were made for winter use to stop static, dryers are made today with humidity detectors, no need to use sheets, how do u give cancer to women? Make it smell artificially pretty.
@@franksmith7419 you are so rude. Women are smart and creative, we love trying new ideas for our homes.
Gemma Quigley lots of toxic chem in fabric softener and can stain some fabrics cuz you can’t rinse your couch

Apple slices, orange peels, cinnamon, and a few cloves simmered on the stove -- it smells divine and costs very little.
I believe that is a great tea as well.
Thank you, I'll try it now lol
Apart from gas n electricity is expensive
Jo Chapman cinnamon is expensive especially Ceylon Cinnabon which the TRUE Cinnamon
@@k8lynmae So is vanilla? Even moreso.
How about peeling the orange and eating it, then boiling skin where all the oil is in the orange?
Agreed. The essential oils for citrus fruits are in the peels. No need to waste the fruit.
FACTS.....💯
I support your ad suggestion, peel the orange then use the peels
Its bitter
That's a good tip! I kick it up a notch with a splash of apple cider vinegar to the boiling water and a dash of cinnamon.
I like listening to your tips but HATE the background noise!
Hi Victoria. Google: misophonia. Cheers!
Lol. Hit that mute
💯
I dont hear nothing on the back ground on these video,s its your phone.
Sounds like porn music from the 70’ lol
My Mum is also from Blackpool. My dad used to have the guys over for poker back in the 70's and she also used bowls of vinegar to get rid of the smokey smell. I have also used bowls of vinegar to get rid of skunk smell after dog was sprayed.
Just last week , I simmered apple slices , cloves , bay leaves and cinnamon. Most heavenly fall scent ever !
thank you so much!!!!!you just saved my life!!!. i moved to a new rent and the place smelled awful ,some cooking smell i couldn't remove no matter what,i used everything: candles, incense, wax warmer.,open windows and nothing worked...that trick of the vinegar around the house in small pots worked like a charm,i got rid of the smell in two days!!!!now i keep them everywhere lol ,my house smell nice!!!!thank you and your mother in law!!!!
Hi Love... some rude, unappreciative and obnoxious sourfaces , are whining about music .
Thanks!
Oh, I did put some baking soda in my blue vase on the mantle, LOL No one can see it so I thought why not!
bowls... not "bowels" 😄
Fabric softener sheets in drawers smell amazing!
Makes the room smell great, doesn’t last that long, but citrus has natural anti bacterial properties to it.😉
my absolute fave is Lemongrass/sage
Im going to try this next!!!
I like lemongrass and cedar
I have a lemongrass bush, it grows like crazy. My grandmother and mom make lemongrass tea. Just simmer the lemongrass as tea, drink it and your house will smell so good
I love making chai in my slow cooker and leaving it to simmer all day...the smell is amazing through the house!
+The Painted Nail
YES,because it is very cheep, uses really little electricity trough the whole day
The Painted Nail
Chai and vanilla extrakt! Yummie;)
Spearmint and Eucalyptus essential oils together make a wonderful stress relief/calming effect. It's truly divine!
We keep a box of apple spice tea or orange spice chai on hand, and use a couple of tea bags in our simmer pot on the stove. It’s quick and smells cozy and delicious.
One of my favourite smells. Are lavender orange and tea tree oil. Mixed together. I use it as a room spray.
Shadow Meacham I must try this, I always think tea tree oil is so strong, but I will try anyway, it sounds like it will smell wonderful . Thanks
Thank you for this super helpful video! Going to try the orange, cinnamon, clove today and also some sachets!
Melissa Maker im actually doing this right now and my Casa smells Sooooo GOOOD! thanks Melissa :)

Lighting a match and quickly putting it out works best for emergency bathroom situations
joan baczek ...that also works great in your car from the smell of a dead skunk along side of the road.
Don't light matches in your car. 1. They run on GaSoLinE. 2. No. 3. Cease and desist.
@@Flamingerudostalion what about all those people who smoke in their cars?
Lela Eubank They are apparently masters of physics.
@@Flamingerudostalion lol are you joking?
Melissa, doesn't baking soda clog or settle into the motor of your vacuum cleaner? I was told by a repair man not to use those commercial powdered carpet fresheners because they lessen the life of your vacuum. I love all the tips, thank you so much!
+Sharon La Tour Clean the baking soda out after each use. I've done it for years and it has been fine...but that said, I wouldn't do it ALL the time since yes, the finer particles can be tough on the motor.
Thanks Melissa! I love your video's!!
Sharon La Tour no
True. I worked as a self-employed housecleaner and was told never to use any fine powder to vacuum up. It will burn up your engine fast.
stir fry with onions - always a good scent!
a pot of beans..mmmm
OMG, I don't know why I didn't think of that. When I use my crock pot I usually let it cook throughout the night and can't wait to turn it off by morning because the smell is so strong. The coffee grinds are a cool idea as well. Thank you so much!
Mix Liquid Soap + 10% of Cooking Vinegar. Cooking Vinegar is strong, it will get rid of those pot smells.
Fantastic! Excellent content and great delivery. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for all the tips. I've just tried the vanilla on cotton balls and it works. 🙏
i love the smell of tea tree oil and lemongrass! it makes my room smell like a rainforest
I brew coffee before guest arrives lol.... my family & friends are coffee lovers so it works! 😁☕
Cielo Aparicio Yessss 😍
Try simmering some cinnamon while you brew coffee. The combo is intoxicating.
Thanks for your tips! We light incense sticks and the house smells so good!
Love watching your videos! They get me motivated to clean my house and smelling nice too!! Thank you!! 👍❤️😄
You are a life saver. I live in a studio apartment and have 2 cats and one dog and it can be really really smelly. I tried simmering coffee grounds and vanilla and it was heaven!
Very informative...I can smell the cleanliness through my monitor!
I love this!!!!! And my favorite combination is orange and lavender!!
buy a bottle of lavender oil. put it in a spray bottle. Use about 5 drops in a small spray bottlespray and love the fresh fragrance
Carol Bickford do I also add water or just the oil ?
So true, I myself am allergic to certain oils like lavender, blood orange, spearmint... I paid lotsa money for some big bottles of these oils never expecting allergic reactions as severe headaches, nausea. I wasted $$ and time. 😰 But I love 💚 peppermint and euchalyptus. 😊
Add few drops of rose water to a bowel of water and keep it in a corner. It is a smooth deodorant.
Mix snuggle and water in a spray bottle and freshen anything
I really enjoy your videos but please the music is so loud it is so hard to hear you speak!!
Agreed
I really am enjoying your videos. When you speak its very clear and you always sound so upbeat.Keep up the good work...(a new fan from Canada)....:)
Tried a few of these; Vanilla extract is sticky, made my fridge sticky... yeah don't put essential oils on light bulbs or furnaces
Lavender and vanilla is amazing as well!
Lavender and Vanilla, I love cinnamon alone and peppermint oil alone so refreshing!
+janice1681 Delightful!!
baking soda science is fairly simple, its a base, so it reacts with acids. Many odors are acids, so this helps deodorize. Vinegar is the opposite
You can get a base that works like baking soda in bulk at the local cement supplier, because lime is the main ingredient that makes cement basic so that it is liquid, then solidifies. I used lime very successfully to solve an odor problem of epic proportions last year.
I love to keep my home smelling good, I used essential oils and diffuser for instant smelling nice and its something that will benefit my body, mind and well being.
I love to put a few drops of scented oil on the vacuum cleaner bag and filter.. its the same idea as the furnace air filter. Rose oil with lemon,, :)
Great video. Essential oils on a light bulb will smoke when the bulb is on.
and the bulb will go pop!
+sam7748 Hi Sam 7748, I think the bulb will only go "pop", if you add anything to a "hot" bulb. Make sure the bulb is cold before adding the oil.
Will it diffuse on LED bulbs as well?
Lemon and lavender is absolutely amazing x
I love lavender and vanilla
A pretty basket filled with potpourri and small Christmas tree lights by the door. Cheery & says welcome home all year long. As the fragrance fades spritz a little essential oil to refresh the potpourri.
I Love the scent of anise stars. I boil anise in filtered water. The house smells amazing plus I use the anise water as a beauty regimen.
Maria Le-Bron how do you use the water as a beauty treatment?
You can buy a ring that goes around the light bulb, put essential oils in that, not on the bulb.
I hope I don't live by any of you.......haha

I love the scent of pine!
Pine sol is the best smell ever
Before I move into a new place or apt. I sprinkle cloves along the baseboards on the floor. It eliminates bugs and smells nice for many months.
Thanks for these easy and amazing tips!
Weird question...but did you ever take journalism classes? You speak so professionally! 😊
I agree! Very interesting, and professionally presented.
My favorite is to put some laundry detergent on to boil! 1 tablespoon in a pot, and if you want to, put some clean white socks in there and see those get WHITE! Doube win. The boiling water removes the residue that is in the socks, making them whiter.
I love the smell of gain...I put them beads in my wax warmer and my house smells of fresh laundry and I LOVE IT
hmmm..GNA try THIS
Alone or with liquid/s?
poison, chemicals, yuck !
This is the best cleaning RUclips channel I’ve seen so far. Others should take note. No cheesy opens or annoying music. I’m a producer.
