I used to work in sales and say "let's get this bread" every morning to manifest prosperity. And when I was working from home, I'd start my day by saying "Today is the best day ever" now I work the career I've always wanted and I say "I know the things I have are enough" which is a phrase I learned from you.

I think both pleasure _and_ happiness are fleeting. Happiness is a fleeting emotion, like anger and sadness. Nobody is happy all the time! Happiness depends on happenings, just like every other emotion. What people are _really_ looking for is fullfilment, meaning, peace of mind. All of these can be found outside yourself. And by being content with who you are and what you have.

My apartment is hip deep in things that haven't been put away, some or a lot of which I could happily do without. I've been making a pile of things I am using every day. That pile is very small: 4 pairs of jeans, three pairs of shoes, and a medium-sized pile of tops. Everything is washable and doesn't need ironing. I think the only thing I won't do is the bed on the floor. Just not me -- but my stuff is mostly Scandinavian Modern, so tranquility comes with it.

They make GREAT kitchen towels, but if you have thick hair and you keep it in a bob(a short and easy to maintain haircut for many women) and are relatively tall, the bath towel ends up being easier. I have to use multiple towels to dry myself and unless I want to own many many tenugui, it's easier for me to keep towels. The fluffy material simply absorbs more.

people need to realise that a workout is anything that includes any movement, not just in a gym. including things like playing with a child, walking to a shop from a car parked further away and doing a deep clean. if you've done anything like that uninterrupted for about an hour a day, that still counts towards exercise/movement.
I stopped drinking caffeine drinks from 28+ cups a week, to 4-8 cups a week and only when I am out and it's taken a long time to stop and a longer time to not always crave it every morning. I have a toddler and we are on our own. I drink one or two at baby groups twice a week so will have one or two a time there, if I visit someone else house I might have one or two or if I buy one from a cafe whilst out I might just have the one, or two on a long day.

Great ideas! The TV and social media distractions are a real challenge today in the U.S. It is really affecting our youth and I am very glad I grew up during a simpler less techy time! Cannecting in person and being outdoors was a natural part of our existence and try to incorporate this today. Love the suggestion about watching our words and I would add watching our thoughts.

Thank goodness you brought this up! Truly, investing has changed my perspective on how one can succeed in life; working multiple jobs isn't the optimal way to attain financial freedom and unfortunately, we discover this later in life. Currently earn as much as 10 grand weekly and this has improved my financial life. Great piece!

I will work on treating things gently. That will help mindfulness and make less mess and wear. Ive already switched to using a hand towel to dry myself and I have incorporated yoga moves into my daily activities. Tteeth cleaning in tree pose, shower yoga, drying myself, dressing and kitchen yoga waiting for the kettle or microwave.

The prophet Muhammad also had minimalistic tendencies. He used roughly 3,1 to 5 litres of water to wash in. I tried it and it is indeed possible. The trick is to scoop water with hands and rub it over body.
This way, one washes with a lot of intention, while saving water. Lots of people don't have save water to drink, cook and wash in. How lucky we are to have this right of water.

All religions are about simple and minimalistic life. Unfortunately, nowadays people don't care. Here in Russia where I live muslims are mad about clothes, cars, furs, brands, etc. Some guys don't rent an apartment and stay at work overnight to save money for a fancy car. This is so crazy.

I believe in kotodama, not only in the spiritual way. Whatever you say is whatever you hear. What you hear is what you register in your brain.
If you say your child is stupid, they start to think they're stupid. I intentionally tell myself it's ok when I feel depressed. I verbalize my goals to make my brain hear it.
It's the cheapest and easiest self empowerment you can practice everyday. Please try it if you haven't!

Thank you again for sharing your wisdom. I realise that I desperately should go to bed much, much earlier than I do. It is not uncommon for me to not get to bed before 1am (even though I have set a 10pm reminder on my watch!). I'll do it tonight!
On the plus side, it is several years now that I have been leaving my phone out of my bedroom all together. The effect? I read books now. I love this change. How do I set my alarms? Well, I just use my smart watch, which is set to prevent any other interruptions between 10pm and 8am. It is so great.

Definitely need to practice #1 treating things roughly!
Another thing to practice when living in the present is managing the urge to record joyous moments. While recording can detract from being fully present, it can also help highlight and appreciate moments. With smartphones, taking pictures or recording has become almost automatic. This impulse can interfere with fully experiencing the moment. Balancing the desire to capture memories with staying present can enhance overall well-being and satisfaction.

Ohayou (gozaimasu)! The American education system needs you!
I am an ESL (English as a second language) teacher and you will NOT believe how I have been spending my early Sunday morning (June 9th, 2024, 8:23 a.m.).
I have been spending hours taking all of my unwanted clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc., putting them in a pile to get ready to donate them to Goodwill (non-profit organization).
Simply put, Goodwill Industries is a non-profit organization where Americans can donate unwanted goods to people in need. People who are in need of basic life items such as clothing, cooking utensils, bedding, shoes.
Less is more. More importantly, need vs. want.
Do I need food, water, clothing? Yes!!! Do I want chocolate cake, sports car, diamond ring?
Need/want. I will take water over the diamond ring.
Love your channel. Very inspiring. As a human being you have to take a look at the things you attach yourself to and then figure out "Am I happy?" "Am I at peace". "Can I live with myself?"
Let go and let be. Peace (of mind).
    Cheers! : )
