So true. I've been following them since 1980, when they were still Joy Division. One of the most influential bands ever, especially during the early 80s, but also later, like they did with Crystal, mainstreaming their sound and the whole genre to a broader audience, although they really never got the credit they deserved for it.

Björn Mayer Underrated as in not as popular of a song as it should be (i.e. True Faith, Bizarre Love Triangle) . I agree with you. It's one of New Order's best songs ever written.
I'm not a huge New Order fan, but this hit the spot the very first time I heard it and it still does. That performance they did on Jools Holland was fantastic as well. I also loved that "Get The Message" track, by Sumner and Marr in their band Electronic.
i and several friends were in that same boat. They were afraid New Order would have spoiled when this album first came out. As the gopher willing to chance it I just took a blind chance and got the CD, they were skeptical of my glowing review and I said "no really, just listen." It isnt just this song. It deserves far more credit than it got. Just as they influenced an entire era of synth rock and dnace back in the 80's and early 90's.
Very, Very strong track. The intro is spectacular, and then when the keyboardist hits that single note, we're catapulted into the stratosphere....One of the best songs ever...
This is not the real intro. Listen to the album version, they cut the actual beautiful intro. It builds up with a female voice ad-libbing over a bed of atmospheric synths then the drums enter when the female singer hits the high note. It's even more cooler when they unleash the guitars and the bass after that prelude.
It’s crazy when looking back, this song is the song that gave birth to my favourite band, “The Killers”. It’s written right there… on the drums!! Words can’t describe how grateful I am for New Order, this song and the band are fantastic. But them inspiring The Killers, will always be what I’m most thankful for!
Indeed, but I remember in 2001 (when I was 29 year-old long term New Order fan) having no idea that this was a New Order song. I thought it was just another revival clone (there was a lot of that kind of shit around then). When I eventually figured out that this album was New Order, I'm afraid that whatever it somehow inspired ("The Killers"?) was always going to be weak version of the original joke.

One day on 5 October 2018.. I went surfing in Waikiki.. Then a few hours later I was at a New Order concert at Blaisdell.. A day I'll never forget.. This song was perfect live..
I haven't heard this song since I was in my early teens. I hadn't realised how much I missed it until now, when I was reminded of it by a Polyphonic documentary on The Killers. I'm having a big nostalgia wave right now.
I was 41 when this album came out. After years of rocking, being a musician, but feeling past it and old, this came out. And I thought. Hell yes, I'm back! And every time I play it I feel the same 20+ years later! Thankyou New Order!
It's insane how amazing New Order are. I was a teen when they made me happy for the first time. Now, In my 50's they are still my musical Prozac every time I feel down.
I remember buying this CD...released in autumn.."it was summer..now its autumn"...one of my favorite bands since eighth grade in the late eighties when Technique came out!

My dad loved new order and as a child I decided to see for myself and this was the song I still come back to 14 years later. RIP pops 😇
One of, if not the most, influential music videos in the history of modern music...
god that singer is magnetic
All time favourite New Order track, all the elements are in there.
One day on 5 October 2018.. I went surfing in Waikiki.. Then a few hours later I was at a New Order concert at Blaisdell.. A day I'll never forget.. This song was perfect live..
Still lovin' this October 21, 2021... 20 years after it captured the top spot on Billboard's dance chart in the US.
I haven't heard this song since I was in my early teens. I hadn't realised how much I missed it until now, when I was reminded of it by a Polyphonic documentary on The Killers. I'm having a big nostalgia wave right now.
This New Order song Cyrstal is a truly Amazing song from the Amazing New Order from a 59 years old Irish man fan
still get goosebumps when i listen to this song. Was my introduction at the age of 20 to the music of New Order and Joy Division
I was 41 when this album came out. After years of rocking, being a musician, but feeling past it and old, this came out. And I thought. Hell yes, I'm back! And every time I play it I feel the same 20+ years later! Thankyou New Order!
Yea man....great comment. Rock on brother...keep it comin'.
@@1122redbird You too brother!
If you remember this Masterpiece song you are not old you are high quality vintage. 💞👌😊👍
One of the best crafted pop songs ever.
i got a cd player alarm clock in high school just to wake up to this song every single day. this cd is a whole state of being
Peter Hook is a true master of haunting sound . Goose bumps material ..
Well said.
@@Bellasie1 Thank you ..
With this song New Order became one of my top bands! Pure bliss
Sounds like it could have been released yesterday. No, strike that; sounds WAY BETTER than anything released yesterday. Good never grows old ... or dies.
This video still looks as fresh as it did when it was released! Thumbs up!
If i was to describe to someone who’s not from this planet how the british music sounds like, i would just play this song. For me this is the epitome of british sound on so many levels.
2024. Only heard this song for the first time today, and I only discovered it through. The Killers connection.
How have I never heard this before? I f@#$ ing love it
Brandon flowers, also collabed with new order in the superheated
This band had so much talent that they continued to produce exceptional quality as they disintegrated.
The band members are pretty well preserved. They still look pretty young for being an 80s band. Maybe made a Faustian pact?
Anyone still enjoying this amazing track on 2020??
Aquí estoy padre santo
@@z-witch592 estupenda canción, no ?
@@omarvgarcia Por supuesto 😎👌
Yes indeed,I miss this
Fuck yeah...
Incredible song I didn't get tired of listening to it.
It's October 2021 and I'm still thinking about this fantastic song and video 20 years later.
I listen to this song over and over and over. One of the greatest songs of all time!
I love this tune too.! If you like this try The House Of Love - You Don,t Understand
@@markfield9664 Excellent tune! I faintly remember when it came out. Sounds a bit like the Charlatans. Or like Jesus Jones "Trust Me." Still, Crystal has a different feel for me.
Brandon Flowers from The Killers said that he stole The Killers name from this video 1:20
+Ricardo A. Medeiros If It wasn't for that, I wouldn't know this amazing song!
+Ricardo A. Medeiros ...and possibly the drum!!
+Ricardo A. Medeiros I was just wondering what the connection was. Thank you.
+August Adam listen to heathens yet |-/
+Darren Stanley I LIKE TOP AND NEW ORDER TOO! :D
Almost 2018 and still the best song I've ever heard!
Maxim Delaet I can agree to that
me too
Maxim Delaet I'm sorry, I love the song but I just can't agree to that.. I don't even think the singer himself could say that
Word..!
Hevent heard it in a long time and it still punches me with joy.
Love this song and the clip is fantastic. I was driving home in the rain tonight after dropping a Buddhist monk off home after a teaching and meditation session and wondered just how many songs feature money in the lyrics. Bernard seems to have a thing about it.
It's clear like crystal that this song is amazing and beyond.
new order will always be my favorite band in my whole life
Hey......here.....cums.........love........
This song gives me hope everytime im listening...
One of their more brilliant pieces of work. .
igual!! puedo escucharla 500 veces
first time I listened to this song I was 20 something, it was 5-6 am in the morning I went back home really drunk I turned on the TV and this song comes out I felt like I was travelling down a tunnel. God I miss those days.
Those fashions are my jr high days. love it.
Love the guy dancing in the video, he rakes some awesome moves. Love this track, keep it coming.
perfect pop song with all the classic hallmarks of New Order at their best.
this is one song from New order that I can't stop listening to I love this song
This is the perfect distillation of everything JD/NO ever was into one single track.
The word "Killers" on the drums is what inspired the band name for The Killers!
This song is an explosive combination of Alternative Rock and Electronic music
This is becoming my favourite New Order track (and that's saying something)
Looking back this song still sounds fresh 10 years later. Love the Hooky Joe Division bass line and tone, especially when he gets high up on the neck. This song is a masterpiece!
It's 20 years, not 10. The album was released in 2001.
Sadly, as life goes, too busy, tech fog and whatnots, I am a long life New Order fan born from the 1st albums afterJoy Division, and I never knew about this track till now. Geez. Blown away!
2001…. Everything at that time seemed so fresh and technologically advanced… i was still an high school student when this song was out, remembering playing this track on my 1st generation iPod. Everything was sound so brilliant, so forward and incredibly amazing…..
Todas las tardes la escuchaba en Alfa Radio estación juvenil en mi México lindo y querido, gracias NEW ORDER por tan inolvidables momentos en mi juventud!!!
en que año?????
How many bands can come up with a totally brilliant record, as good as any they have ever done, 20 years after they first started? ANSWER: Only one - New Order.
King Crimson? Sonic Youth?
David Bowie could, and did.
@@juslenjeyatharan1004 True, but being compared to Bowie is not all that bad :)
depeche mode!!!!
So many bands have, but I totally get your point. This was a banger and iconic, definitely one of their best tracks ever.
I remember this was one of the videos that made me feel better right after 9/11. Get Ready was (and still is) a great disc!
I just seen it now, it says uploaded on 2013, than I see single release day is 2001, it's amazing how timeless this things is...
暗記するくらいになり、とうとう、歌えるようになりました。そのくらい好きな詩です♡
playing this in my house while I painted baseboard on a Sony XP700...definitely need a decent speaker to appreciate this song to the fullest. I wound up putting it on loop until I finished. Great song!
THIS IS one of my fetish video. everything is there. the visual, the dance, the style, the colors, the music, the emotion. its perfect combined together and i bite of touch of joy division.
It is 2018 and this is still a great song, New Order were the soundtrack to my life in the 1990s
Remains one of the most underrated songs of the 21st century in 2023.
Nostalgic song because makes you remember good Times.
