I find it completely astounding how new order are not more celebrated as the best UK band ever. Truly magical, love all the individual components of the band and the story. That new order bass has always struck something g in me since I was a kid. Beautiful. 💚💚💚
I'd agree about being more celebrated. But as far as THE best UK band? Pink Floyd or the Smiths I think would hold that title. Probably Pink Floyd.....

The Smiths are magic I would agree though n I think Johnny Marr is an absolute legend, love the guy. But New Order are a bigger band worldwide and the mystique and story is unrivalled imo. The whole joy division, factory records, hacienda, losing money on every record sold of blue Monday adds to the magic. They are a story, an ideal, something we would all love to be involved in if we were a band.
