Is it a Jewelry Box? or a Valet? | How I BUILT this Amazing Box | 2020/03

- My first woodworking project of the new year is a black walnut Valet with maple accents. This valet is a gift from a friend of mine for his fiancé, who is being commissioned in the United States Navy.
While this was a relatively small project, it did come with its challenges. I followed a set of plans from the Woodworking Journal and modified them to add an extra drawer. They were extremely easy to follow and made the build very easy. I also watched a couple of videos on RUclips from Jay Bates who made similar boxes, His techniques were extremely helpful as well.
The box turned out really well, and for the record, she loved it!

Cool project. I didn't think the trick with the super glue on the drawer slides would work. Learned something new!
Neither did I...
Nice video Scott. When i make my boxes and cut the lids off, i cut the front and back first to leave more structure to the box before adding wedges to cut the sides off .
Yeah.. I learned that after the fact. But I got lucky on this one and had a clean cut all the way around.
Nice. My wife would love something like that.
Let me know.. $$
Nice job Scott, really like how that turned out!
Thank you!

Nice box but the top section looks too deep when viewed from the front.
It's about an inch deep.
That was scary, long sleeves while using a table saw, phew, glad it didn't happen
It's COLD in there!!
