Wow. Gorgeous. The filing of the brass is the perfect touch. I've never seen a woodworking shop do that. What a high end finish! This was a joy to watch.
Dude! Those HINGES!! Planing those flat and making them disappear is just brilliant. Really first rate execution there. And an overall gorgeous design. Well done.
Wow, I’m utterly gobsmacked! That workmanship is top notch, the tools are top of the line, and the boxes are unique and gorgeous! I just learned so many different techniques to try… just amazing! Great video quality too. Well done sir!
@@od_form Of course! Mind if I ask you where you got the tool to drill the center of the end of the dowel rod? I’ve looked and looked for something like that and have never been able to find a set.
@@od_form whoa, that is awesome, (and I’m definitely gonna have to try that one), but I was talking about how you drilled the holes perfectly in the center of each one to link them together. It looks like you have some kind of tool you push over the ends of each one. Man, I watched your whole video again, and it really inspired me to up my game. I’m a 60 year old retired Navy vet, and build things to help supplement my SSI. Your work is amazing! I love your big hydraulic press… unfortunately my entire shop is just a 12x24’ shed, (but I love it 🙂). Anyways, I’ve been wanting to do wood hinges, but have a hard time getting the holes drilled dead center for the metal rod used to link them.
Love the way he made that piano lock mechanism look like the screws didn’t exist. Gotta try that on my next box project. Also, holy crap what a shop! This man must move a lot of product. Great channel, thanks for posting.
Absolutely outstanding work, beautiful design but please do not use the jointer for small pieces and certainly without the guard in place properly and a push stick. I lost 1 and a bit fingers jointer drawer runners early in my career and would hate to see that happen to you.
New woodworker question: the center part of your panels look like they expand/contract horizontal, but the top and bottom rails run the opposite way. It looks like you used glue on all four sides of the panel. What allows you to do this safely so the wood doesn't split over time? Great video sequencing! I'm enjoying watching and reflecting on every move of the project. Thank you for posting.
Another question: How come you dented/scratched up the surface of the brass screws before filing, but not the brass plate? I've never seen this technique before.
He’s peening the screw heads to make sure they completely fill up the countersinks in the plate. Countersinked screws and holes rarely match perfectly and small gaps can reveal themselves during filing/finishing 💀 As for the first question I’m not exactly sure but I’m guessing you’re worried that the enclosed fir “sandwich” might split the borders/frame. Since it’s under a few layers of veneer and glue and as long as the relative humidity stays fairly constant in the room I’d say it’s not a very big risk. I’m no pro on wood swelling in joinery though, but it’s my take on the matter :)
@S T really appreciate the detailed reply. Glad I asked. Yes, it was the fir sandwiched that confused me... I've only seen examples of plywood stabilizing veneer and not the other way around where the veneer stabilizes the core. His work is so nice it's probably going to end up in a perfectly climatized home, so I see your point. Thank you!
Hello. Very beautiful boxes to manufactured. Congratulations and very inspiring. I only have one question, and you can help me; What is the name of the element you use to center drill the dowels with which you make the hinges, at minute 7:25? Thank you very much in advance. Greetings.
My man got me over here tense with the way he's working that jointer with such small pieces.
Many parts of that video had me fearing for fingers

As many have said; take care of your fingers. They’re the only set you’ll get. Amazing, beautiful craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing this.
It's a pleasure watching a man work who is not afraid of his power tools..., and the boxes were outstanding.
If you're afraid of power tools you shouldn't use them it's about respect

Haha wood hinges👌👌 Thank you🙏
That is 20 minutes of woodworking magnificence. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you😊
I could watch this on repeat and still find something new to geek out on each time.

Thank you I appreciate it!

@@timdoyon1964 I make them myself. Here is a video showing a bit of the process instagram.com/reel/Cs1Tvd3o9pm/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Totally agree on the level of craftsmanship, but the subtitle "Silent woodworking" seems out of place
Beautiful. The hinges are absolutely stunning.
This is amazing. Great stuff as always
Thank you!

Amazing!👋👋👋👋
very complex work with many elements. It's amazing.
Thank you 🙏
What an exquisite result.
thank you!
That was great. It's not often you see a manual mill used in the woodworking process.
I aspire to be as good as you one day!
I’m sure you will
Well done.
great attention to details
Thank you 🙏
And not a nail gun or stapler in sight! 👍👍
It's amazing. 👍👍
Thank you!
This is crazy😊

very nice
Whats that tool that allowed you to drill a hole in the center of the dowels and where can i find one?

Mega. Was ist das denn für ein Teil wo du die Bohrungen für das Holzscharnier mit machst?
WOW
What brand is your marking gage.

It’s Rob Cosmans jig👌
@@od_form Thank you so much. Greetings.
Great video. But The money shot at the end needs to be longer. I wanted to sit back and admire the finished product, but the video ended!😂
Hahah I’ll think about that in my next video☺️
Phenomenal work. Would you consider making humidors?
Absolutely
Thanks!
Amazing! I wonder where in Sweden they are located?
For the moment I’m located outside Jönköping
This was shot on Öland
Wow its amazing.... but how many days it took😉
Thank you, yes many days
Realy like it. Only thing, the presentation at the end could be much longer.
Thanks! Will make it longer next time
Great job but please don’t put your fingers so close to the plainer🤢🤢
I honestly watched only the machines.. tbh
Top tier nice job! What’s the finish? Some type of paste wax?
Yes its a hard wax oil mix
Thank you!
