I call Avi’s music Frontier Folk Music. That’s the closest I can come to describing it. Nice reaction!
This song was Avi's first solo release. It is a song about getting his fire back after being burned out from hys years with h PTX. Avi has said that music had become a job and this was his declaration that he had got his joy for music back.
Yes all the vocals are Avi as well as the booms, growls and bass. The only instrumentation is the organ and tambourine. Avi's music is hard to put into a specific genre but most people say broadly folk/Americana.
I enjoyed your reaction and hope that you will continue with Avi's music. I think most reactors have a preconceived notion of Avi because of being the bass for PTX but he is a phenomenal singer/songwriter with incredible range.
My suggestion would be All is Well either the duet with Joy Williams or the 7layers session #126 which was recorded in a church in the Netherlands with just Avi, his guitar, and the acoustics of the church.

Apart from the organ at the bridge, all sounds and vocals are Avi.This was his first release after leaving PTX. He is now making the music he always wanted to make. He's already built up a good body of work and is constantly developing and changing as an artist. For a very different side to him, try "All Is Well" 7Layers session. Just Avi and a guitar singing in a church.

This song is not really typical of his writing and singing but it is still Avi in his glory.
I love this song he released 2022 form his Album, Floating On A Dream.

This is a much more tender song and there are many more, each with it's own sound.
Avi is a classically/operatically trained vocalist and knowing how to use his voice lends
his voice to many sounds.
This song was actually featured on the SyFy TV Show "Resident Alien" (Season 1, Eps 3). So he got some big exposure to the general public. It fit right into the story point of the show too.
I hope you’ll check out more from Avi, anything of his is brilliant but my favorites would be I’ll get by, All is well and Quarter past four.
I love that his full artistry can shine through.

Pentatonix had a grueling touring schedule. Avi left to spend more time with his family and just for his mental health. It was an amicable split and Avi even helped find Matt Sallee to fill the empty spot in Pentatonix.
Avi can actually sing two notes at once… I believe if you look up his name and overtone notes, you can watch it ❤
