The unusual instrument is a steel guitar, also called a peddle guitar. It is used in country music but more so years ago. This band traveled with him in 2022.

The interesting instrument you mentioned around 6:30 is called a steel guitar. it's normally played on the artist's lap or on a stand in front of them. The "steel" bar they use to create the chords is sometime simply a small glass bottle over a finger. In any case, the sound is ethereal, and invokes a country music feel in me. I'm not sure who and when a guitar was turned on it side and played like that, I just love the sound.

(The keyboard guy who does great honky-tonk piano in this is Daniel Ellsworth, who Avi brought in to play piano in the Sunset Sound videos.) Heavily recommend Avi's "All Is Well", there are 3 versions and they are all stunning in different ways. The official music vid was with a woman, whose name I can't remember, but she has a gorgeous voice and presence. There is an accoustic one in a church, which is a bit more bass-y and I think you will appreciate that. And the 3rd is with a backing band.
