- I dedicate this video to my Overlanding homies as this one is perfect for those who head off grid a bit.
I installed the Valenti Design tablet mount in my Rebel this morning. This allows you to easily mount a tablet in front of your factory radio so you can use apps that may not necessarily be CarPlay/Android auto compatible or in the case of the 5 and 8" screen users, give you a larger screen for apps.

Just wondering can you use those apps while tethered to apple car play and see the apps on the factory screen? I know the iPad is easier to watch I use one on my truck too.
No both of the apps (Gaia and Livebarn) in this video are not compatible with CarPlay so I can only use an iPad to access/view them.
Awesome idea, another excellent post man. When the tablet is mounted on the tray, does it bounce around, vibrate or make contact with the head unit when driving?
A small bit but since my case wraps over the top, it dampens any sort of vibration. No, it will not contact the screen, it would have to be pushed quite hard to touch the screen.

Do you not use your bulletpoint phone holders anymore?
What's the vehicle camera or multiple cameras solution for this application? Also loosing the on screen climate control settings in this application? Good idea but making it bolt on and velcro'd in makes it a little hard to regain simple factory on screen functions. Perhaps I'm missing something.
You can access the climate controls on the side of the 12” radio. I’m not sure what you mean by multiple cameras. I don’t have anything other than a rear camera.
Love the videos for mod ideas... not keen on this one. That velcro is not enough to secure the tablet in a collision. I was rear ended about 4 months ago, and it ripped a radio right out of a CB slide mount - not through the "slide out" design, but straight UP out of the mount. Parked, or maybe short drives, cool, but please be careful.
Why would you do this if you have that nice factory screen. Just wondering
There’s a lot of apps that people use that are not CarPlay compatible so you either end up with a huge arm mount for a tablet or a solution like this. Not everyone needs this but those who require their apps for certain things, this is a great option.

I’m sorry Marty, not really tracking your comment. My iPad had a case with a cover on it, when it’s in the Valenti bracket the case is opened up extending onto the dash.
the 12" unconnect still doin ok?
