I've always used my iPads in portrait mode but with the new 13" model I've switched to landscape mode. The "pop up" keyboard is light years better on the 13" screen, the keyboard layout is more "laptop" like. Streaming video is also much nicer, I can't see the need for a TV set now 🫢🫨😁. Just loving this device.

See no reason to upgrade from an air 5, it’s only 2 years old and still does the job, suppose it depends what you want it for. Actually don’t care for face ID. 120hz no big deal either. Don’t do any conference calls on ipad so camera position also a non-issue.

Thank you! As a musician, I've been using iPad as a portable sheet music library - powered by ForScore app (some use UnrealBook, but ForScore in fact has become the industry standard). I started off with a used iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 2 (with the Home button), then got a 2022 512Gb, and ever since was dreaming of a time when Apple would make a large iPad that isn't Pro, because I don't need all that horsepower of the latest Pro to turn pages in PDF docs + make annontations with Apple Pencil. Sure, getting a Pro makes it potentially more timeproof, but the usage mode also means it might need a replacement sooner than most users' iPads (I am a careful user, but life happens). So for me getting a used or refurbished 12.9" iPad Pro was the only viable option. In fact, last year I got a second iPad (2021 256Gb) to pair the two machines via Cue app (a ForScore extention) for dual-page mode. Now I will let these two machines work as long as they do, and my next move will be either this Air or a used / refurbished previous generation Pro. That said, if Apple ever produces an even larger size iPad, I will take that, for my eyes.

currently in the uk the 13" air is £799 and the iPad pro 2022 is around £1k (brand new)... renewed you can get it slightly cheaper... personally it might be best to wait a month or two and you will probably be able to get the iPad pro 2022 for a similar price to the iPad Air - you will get a better screen, addition camera, lidar, face ID, plus thunderbolt 4 -- you will get more for your money the iPad Air is essentially the same as the previous model -- M1 is still more than enough so unless you really need the camera in a new position and really need 13" you can save and get last gen iPad air The 13" is priced slightly too high for what it is... and the pros are stupidly priced -- unless they put macos on the iPad (which they wont) or they vastly improve pados so it can run desktop apps then the M4 is too much power
Very pleased with my new 11" iPad Air. This is for content consumption; I have a 14" MacBook Pro for anything creative. That also explains why I've gone for the 11" - the MBP satisfies any requirements for a larger screen. And I've found that my old Smart Keyboard Folio fits and works perfectly, so that's good. Here in the UK this new iPad Air is cheaper than the outgoing version and has more storage in the base model, so it was an easy purchase.
I have ipad pro 2017 2nd gen, working good. I use it for study only. But i want to upgrade to enjoy the newest features. I like M2 ipad pro but I just tempted towards the pencil pro. What should i do…?
Get the iPad Air 2024 6gen trust me it’s worth it you can choose 11” or 13” if u like study and do work then use 13” and if u only just write and draw then use 11”I just recommend using 13” really good for study and u can use new pencil for it too

Works great for content consumption on the larger 12-inch screen. This normal like most is not a content creator.
Pretty good video. That was my thoughts right up to the point we’re I looked at the air and pro side by side and the image quality of the pro is amazing by comparison plus you get a bigger memory and other features. Considering I have had my current pro since 2015 I think over that time it’s worth the extra money. So my advice if your going to buy the air then don’t look at the pro. But if you use it a lot and keep it for a good number of years then buy the best. But of course it depends on your budget.
Well, you don’t really need a keyboard if you don’t do a lot of typing. I’ve had an iPad since the first one and have had nearly every version of the Pro besides the M2 and now with the 13 inch Pro, I finally got the new keyboard and it’s definitely an adjustment compared to using the iPad without an attached keyboard, or using a MacBook.
Picked up 11” IPad Pro M4 for the display and faster processor that I can’t fully use. YOLO. 13” way too big since I plan to use M3 Airs and iPad for specific uses only.
This is the iPad I would choose if I wanted a new iPad right now: however, my 2018 iPad Pro still works fine, and for travel etc I have found the iPad mini is the best iPad
My dilemma is that I want the pro but don’t want to spend that much. What are your thoughts on the differences if I were to upgrade to the Air from a 2020 Pro. I’ve been thinking I’m at the point where the new Air with the M2 is a decent upgrade from the A12z Bionic 🤷♂️? My iPad works fine, I don’t feel it’s that slow and don’t recall it crashing unless it’s an Adobe app. Overall it works and I don’t feel I *need* to upgrade but the battery all isn’t lasting. What are the benchmark differences between the A12z and M2? And does the Apple Pencil 2nd gen work on the new Air or would I have to get the C-Pencil or Pro Pencil?
I am torn between iPad Pro M4 11” and iPad Air 13” as the price is similar. Which one should I get? Currently on iPad Pro 10.5” 2017. I do use my iPad as media consumption, take notes, read books. For any heavy duty work, I still rely on my MBP Pro M1
I have had the Pro 12.9 (now 13) since they came out, I am NOT a pro user by any means and have no need for a pro model, but I love it for the size. I have been dying for a 13" air and it perfect for my needs. I am about to trade in my 4-year old 12.9" iPad Pro on the 13" air. Super excited!
For art the only thing it's missing is textured glass to add friction to the Pencil tip, which is only available on 1TB and above on the iPad Pro, which is massively overkill for 2D art!! So forget that lmao.
Ive been looking at countless reviews and reddit posts because Im an artist and I think an Ipad would fit for me really well. Im stuck between the Ipad 2022, air 5 and this one, because the only thing I'm gonna do on this is draw, like I'm not gonna do any tasks that's gonna be difficult on my device. But at the same time I really want a good Ipad, since Ive never had Ipads and I want my first purchase to be a good experience.
Get m2 pro, it’s awesome and 120 herz are worth it, I personally can’t stand 60 on airs (fellow artist). I also use the pencil with a rubber holder anyway so all the new features don’t really matter
Essentially this is an iPad Pro with a better battery. The M2 iPad Pro did everyone professional work and still is and this has the same chip but a less power consuming screen. This is the iPad the most people should buy.
my point of view is air m2 ☁️ : 1. if you want all the new features and want to risk losing some from the pro consider buying this version (the pro is only just some bucks less but kinda same price) 2. performs the same in gaming 3. if you arent going to do hard editing then 4. appel pencel pre suppert!!1!1 (epecc even ef ets net werth et)!!! 5. if you dont trust ebay or refurbs overall 6. you dont even care about the display pro m2 🌄 : 1. 120hz display and a bit better display 2. cheap some times 3. editin 4. better speaker that i dont care because i love me seme apple pencel pre!!!1!1 [ overall get 11" , freaky and if you just want a cheap ipad pro get the m1 ]
No function keys on the air keyboard and I’m not prepared to pay laptop money for the PRO with IPad OS, so Apple end up with no sale, I’ve had a Pro but the limited multitasking while trying to edit documents I’m afraid too time consuming.
I tried all the iPads. The mini 6 is the best iPad ! The form factor is amazing and no one mentions that it has a higher pixel per inch compared to the bigger iPads even the pros.
Just too small if you want to edit avideo and you don't have a monitor to connect. Besides that it's probably the best Apple Product ever made. If I could only have one apple device it would be iPad mini + LTE
the fact that it don't have the mini led is reason alone to just get the m1 air unless the pro pencil is what you want but if your making money off of your art you could just get the iPad Pro at that point
The top of the line iPad Air is $1449 on Apples website. You must be in a different country than the U.S. or must be putting the keyboard case and Apple Pencil with it for that kind of price.
@@Old-School-Liberalipad air m2 11 inch with pencil pro + a transparent case (without flip) is ok, if one has a laptop. For me, 11 inch m2 with pencil pro is perfect to use for a ~ decade. 11 inch is user friendly and easy to carry too, for those who don't need lots of EDITING. .
Did you get the attention you were looking for? Come on a video that talks about not having to spend more money to get great features… a video talking about the middle of the road iPad… and then whine it’s too expensive. 🤦🏻♂️ Too expensive? I just “specked out” the 13” pro… $2877. Now THAT’s too expensive. If it’s too expensive, feel free to get the new iPad base iPad. And don’t “spec it out” - because that will add. Go with the base 64 GB version. You can find a decent Apple Pencil knock off from ESR for just $20, and a basic ONN Bluetooth keyboard for $10 at Walmart, plus their ONN Bluetooth mouse for $10. Boom - just over $400 (after tax.)
Magic Keyboard is a no for me. I don’t use any keyboard with my iPad. I use my iPad to hand write manuscripts. I do use a desk top Magic Keyboard when I side chain my MacBook Pro. The pencil is my preferred device every time over a keyboard. For me keyboards are clunky and break my creative flow. I’ve ordered the iPad Air 13 as the size is close to a a4 sheet of paper. I also prefer the touch button for security. Raising the tablet to unlock the screen is irritating and unprofessional in writing group sessions.
I'm going with the 13 inch iPad Air M2, also with the MagicKeyboard a the Pencil Pro. This 3 devices I have ordered on the weekend. I think that the 13 inch iPad ist a good Prosumer device. Thank you for this review of the iPad Air 13 inch and the recommendation. It will complete and fit perfectly with my MacBook Air M2 2023. For me traveling I think that is a good combination.
@@Neptune.410 Very good. It is I thought… perfekt combination with my MacBook. But also stand alone a the only device it is a good choice. For me it was the right choice to go with the 13 inch. And one month use the keyboard and pencil round all up to a good working device to create content…
Agreed! If I'm using it as my daily driver, which I am, I absolutely need it to have 120Hz. But I won't lie, I just love OLED displays so the 13 inch Pro was an instant purchase for me. But for non-tech geeks who really don't care as much as I do, this 13 inch Air will be perfectly fine.
Agreed. I use my iPad flat on a desk or table to hand write. Raising the tablet or needing to lean forward to unlock the iPad is irritating, indiscreet and unprofessional in meetings
I never dock a iPad (I just use a Mac at that point), so not sure I like the new placement of the camera. Does FaceTime still work reasonably well in portrait orientation, or does it really only work well in landscape now?
Apple SHOULD implement Face ID AND Touch ID into the iPad Pro to DIFFERENTIATE the iPad Pro from the iPad Air and give you the OPTION to get an iPad Air with Face ID OR Touch ID
What I have heard is the iPad pro states 13in but it’s really a 12.9. So the 12.9 iPads are not really 12.9 screen view. There has been quite a few people complaining what Apple is actually doing with these measures.
@@claudiacanales2662 yes it fits and it’s functional. Where is the 13 inch coming in? I truly don’t understand this and how they are able to get away with this. I love it. I think it’s a beautiful tablet and what you can do it but how do I get 13 inches out of 12.9?
@@1956mercy how are you able to advertise something as 13 inches and it fits in a 12.9 case I’m having a hard time understanding it but think that the tablet is a beautiful tablet. I love it not sad about my purchase. I’m just saying though?
Hello if you didn’t buy it it’s called 3rd party not 2nd so what I is is that it’s a non product like the key board and most people don’t buy the one and they buy Bluetooth ones but the new iPads are and they won’t take it when u press keys it might start typing differently
If the MacBook was touch screen, pen assessable and keyboard removable the iPad would be obsolete. iPad Air and pro are more for content creators, designs, graphic designers, artists , illustrators and the need to use the pen etc… other than that is not worth the price. It can’t fully replace a computer. If you want to get the pro because of the Oled display there are laptops with Oled display for half the price.
If you can find the iPad M2 reasonable priced you mean. It’s discounted from Apple directly now so this iPad is best option for most people it’s basically just the standard model.
Agree IPad 12.9 should be better than any iPad except the news one .. m4 iPad is just over kill and has too many unnecessary features which it’s more expensive but pointless to upgrade (that’s if u got the m2 pro )
They aren’t the same price. 1100 usd for the pro m2, 740 for the air m2. Apple Pencil Pro support is also a major reason to pick the Air, especially if you use drawing apps. Two big reasons for me: price and Apple Pencil Pro.
Absolutely NOOO! A tablet with that price tag shouldn't come without at least 90Hz. It limits the possibility of things that could be done with such a powerful processor and not to mention the crippling ipadOS experience that doesn't allow to utilize the m2 to its full glory! (Wrighting from my tab s9 bought 2days ago. I have been waiting for ipad air to receive a meaningful upgrade and I was disappointed)
The iPad Pro M2 12.9 is better than the new Air in ever which way. To me thats the bargain for that size of a tablet. Also, the M1 Air becomes much more affordable. Apple did do consumers a favor by not really wowing anyone with their new iPads .
iPad Air 13 inch 969 Euros + magic keyboard 399 Euros = nearly 1400 euros puts it in the MacBook Air 13 price point running macOS better trackpad, larger SSD etc.. i would buy MacBook Air no-brainer.
Better to get a Macbook Air if you want to do anything light SOHO like tasks. For consuming the NET and multimedia choose the cheapest normal iPad. If Apple would make a 13 inch iPad almost everyone will buy that, not the Air or the Pro. They are too limited and way too expensive. The Ipad is very very far away from replacing even the worst weakest cheapest laptops.
iPad Air 13inch 256Gig from Amazon when discounted iPhone 15 128Gig from Xfinity Mobile Apple Watch 9 from Amazon when discounted (Using Amazon Card Equal pay) No accessories from Apple at all Even the apple pen Keep the phone for 24 month And the iPad with the watch for 5 years All you need from Apple brand Then start investing in Apple stock
You can still get a laptop that has an OLED 120hz display with a decent processor, 16gb of ram and at least 512 gb of storage for 800 usd. Tablets at that price range for regular work like typing documents and watching media doesn’t make sense, the only tablet option I would consider is Samsung’s s9 tablet line
iPad Air 13” (M2) 2024 is a SCAM. You can get iPad Pro 12.9” (M2) 2022. Same price probably but you get 120hz Pro Motion/MiniLED/Quad Speakers/FaceID/ThunderBolt USB4/5 Studio Quality Microphones. 😂
If you’re to get the air or pro… yooo believe me if you already got the iPad 12.9 M2 please don’t get the m4 cus now u just like to spend😂 the IPad 12.9 should be better than any iPad except the news one .. m4 iPad is just over kill and has too many unnecessary features which it’s more expensive but pointless to upgrade (that’s if u got the m2 pro ) so any Air vs pros definitely go for the pros cus of better performance, audio, sound and so much more.

I’m learning english with your video. 😮
I have ipad pro 2017 2nd gen, working good. I use it for study only. But i want to upgrade to enjoy the newest features. I like M2 ipad pro but I just tempted towards the pencil pro. What should i do…?
Get the iPad Air 2024 6gen trust me it’s worth it you can choose 11” or 13” if u like study and do work then use 13” and if u only just write and draw then use 11”I just recommend using 13” really good for study and u can use new pencil for it too
Use third party iPad pro 12.9 case with Keyboard 2017 2nd 2015 1st Generation, 360 Rotatable Wireless Folio 180 Swivel Stand Hard Cover Auto Sleep Wake up Black $ 71.99 with my Apple 2017 12-inc iPad Pro.
And the 486 is a perfect computer. The air with the 60hz lcd is about a decade behind the times
Who cares about 120 Hz if all you're gonna do is watch 60fps RUclips videos and 30fps Netflix shows
Which is not something very many people care about.
when you're used to pro motion it's a really big deal, also the Air is not as bright as the new pro. if you don't care for these things, go for it.
Does it have jelly scrolling?
How come every RUclipsr misses the Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad it’s even in the Apple Store
Need a ipad to read comics.
11" or 13" what would you choose?
11
Don’t buy a new iPad, just replace the battery on the old one
I'll probably be upgrading my 2020 iPad Air to this 13in Air. If not, then the 13in Pro
By what you describe you do the tablet is mostly in your hands rather than on a desk or table. Definitely the 11 inch screen.
11 inch is fine for me
As a middle ground it should have had the m3
Essentially this is an iPad Pro with a better battery. The M2 iPad Pro did everyone professional work and still is and this has the same chip but a less power consuming screen. This is the iPad the most people should buy.
Wait… touch ID? How did I not know this? Byeeee, ipad pro!
Face ID is much more superior? I think..
One thing I find very disappointing is that it could be at least 90 Hz .. at very least the 13 inch model
my point of view is
air m2 ☁️ :
1. if you want all the new features and want to risk losing some from the pro consider buying this version (the pro is only just some bucks less but kinda same price)
2. performs the same in gaming
3. if you arent going to do hard editing then
4. appel pencel pre suppert!!1!1 (epecc even ef ets net werth et)!!!
5. if you dont trust ebay or refurbs overall
6. you dont even care about the display
pro m2 🌄 :
1. 120hz display and a bit better display
2. cheap some times
3. editin
4. better speaker that i dont care because i love me seme apple pencel pre!!!1!1
[ overall get 11" , freaky and if you just want a cheap ipad pro get the m1 ]
@@JJohnson313 agreed the mini is the best consumer product by apple. As far as editing videos, the Mac is available.
The iPad Air too expensive! $1800 for the specked out option. Also it needs a better screen like mini LED.
the fact that it don't have the mini led is reason alone to just get the m1 air unless the pro pencil is what you want but if your making money off of your art you could just get the iPad Pro at that point
The top of the line iPad Air is $1449 on Apples website. You must be in a different country than the U.S. or must be putting the keyboard case and Apple Pencil with it for that kind of price.
@@marcg.3830 I am including the keyboard and pencil. That is ridiculous for an iPad Air.
Too expensive? I just “specked out” the 13” pro… $2877. Now THAT’s too expensive.
If it’s too expensive, feel free to get the new iPad base iPad. And don’t “spec it out” - because that will add. Go with the base 64 GB version. You can find a decent Apple Pencil knock off from ESR for just $20, and a basic ONN Bluetooth keyboard for $10 at Walmart, plus their ONN Bluetooth mouse for $10. Boom - just over $400 (after tax.)
Does the iPad Air have 4 micro speakers? My old iPad Pro 11inch has 4 micro speakers because I listen to music and educational material on RUclips.
No only 2
Magic Keyboard is a no for me.
I love my iPad but RUclips just doesn’t look as crisp and clear like my Mac or my iPhone
My iPad Pro 3rd gen M1 is still perfect. Easier to unlock with face id😃
Is this compatible with the 2nd gen apple pencil?
No
Does the 2nd gen Apple Pencil not work with the new iPad Air, considering getting one?
No it doesn’t not unfortunately.
Can you trade in to aple if the screen is crack but everything work fine? Thanks
I just ordered the ipad air 13 inch m2, how is it so far ?
@@Neptune.410 Very good. It is I thought… perfekt combination with my MacBook. But also stand alone a the only device it is a good choice. For me it was the right choice to go with the 13 inch. And one month use the keyboard and pencil round all up to a good working device to create content…
@@hindermath awesome thank you for the feedback ! mine should be here this week very excited for it
@@Neptune.410 Sounds good. Looking forward to read your experience here with this incredible device.
Noted the new Intervals album. rad
If it had a better display, 120hz and thunderbolt then its an instant buy. These features are critical for me.
If only there was such a model on the market...
You’d be better off buying the 2022 iPad Pro 12.9 inch. You get all those features and the pricing is about the same.
Nah 0 chance 120hz is a must have
So a iPad Pro?
Imo tuchid is a better option
Agreed. I use my iPad flat on a desk or table to hand write. Raising the tablet or needing to lean forward to unlock the iPad is irritating, indiscreet and unprofessional in meetings
I think ima upgrade my iPad Air 5 with the 13 inch pro
is this better compare to ipad pro m2? i will mainly use the ipad for mini animation, 3d modeling, drawing
Nah iPad Pro m2 better dawg
I never dock a iPad (I just use a Mac at that point), so not sure I like the new placement of the camera. Does FaceTime still work reasonably well in portrait orientation, or does it really only work well in landscape now?
I’m wondering about the upcoming AI features… That would make me go for a Pro or a MacBook…
Traded my MacBook Pro intel (2020) for this beauty. You the man!!!!
(EDIT: paid the difference lol)
Apple SHOULD implement Face ID AND Touch ID into the iPad Pro to DIFFERENTIATE the iPad Pro from the iPad Air and give you the OPTION to get an iPad Air with Face ID OR Touch ID
should i get 11 inch ipad pro m2 or ipad air m2 ?
The iPad Pro is better( better speaker or audio, faster, etc) that’s y it’s a pro😊 but with the cost definitely the air. It’s cheaper right now
I am commenting on my m2 iPad Air and it’s great
Watching this on my iPad Air 13”
Waiting for my Air 13 to come. Watching on a Mini 6
How can it feel the same if it’s bigger?😅
intervals mentioned
Is the new Magic Keyboard Backlit??
Yes it is!
I think I'll wait for the next ipad pro release. And buy the m4 ipad pro for a lower price.
Nice thinking there’s a chance if
Doesn’t get sales they will remove the iPad and u can’t buy it anymore like why happens to s9 wach
why is my 13 inch iPad Pro able to fit into my 12.9 iPad Pro case? Help me on the stand where 13 inches come from.
Really it fits?
@@claudiacanales2662 because the iPad Air is actually 12.9 but they rounded it to 13 but if you view the detail specs?
How is about 60hz? It good for gaming?
If you play Fortnite then I recommend 120 much smoother
My question... what is a 2nd party accessorie?
Hello if you didn’t buy it it’s called 3rd party not 2nd so what I is is that it’s a non product like the key board and most people don’t buy the one and they buy Bluetooth ones but the new iPads are and they won’t take it when u press keys it might start typing differently
getting the pro that wont even replace a macbook is useless, im glad they made a 13” air for illustrators
I just bought an iPad Pro 12.9 m1 for a few reasons. I’ll get a better display. And it’s thinner. And I get Face ID.
And better speakers too
I don’t understand why they don’t put Face ID instead of Touch ID
Why don’t they just do both I like Face ID more the. Touch less hands use
Planning to purchase this week. Is it okay to buy off brand magnetic keypad.
Nope
sometimes just won’t accept third party keyboard and we’ll they just won’t do it it might not work and not start doing what u need
There's absolutely no reason to buy M2 Air instead of Pro M2 for the same price. Even considering the camera positing, no reason
If the iPad Air had got the miniLED display, I would no doubt have bought it over the Pro
This is the thing the 13 inch iPads are really a laptop alternative. I feel like a clown holding it as a tablet.
iPad Air 13 inch 969 Euros + magic keyboard 399 Euros = nearly 1400 euros puts it in the MacBook Air 13 price point running macOS better trackpad, larger SSD etc.. i would buy MacBook Air no-brainer.
If you always use it with a keyboard you're better off with a MacBook air, and 60hz is dog poop if you use touch often.
60 Hz for that kind of money? No thanks. 😉
Why not just get a Macbook? Looks to me like you’re just using the iPad for laptop tasks, but in a less optimal way. 😂
I have a 10th gen and it’s perfect
How do you find the speakers?
Really good actually
Can you share what the actual available storage is out of the box?
Yeah I'd rather have 120hz 2018 ipad pro than this ipad due to the refresh rate
Yeah I've been considering the 11-inch iPad Air over the Pros because of the cost alone!
iPad Air 13inch 256Gig from Amazon when discounted
iPhone 15 128Gig from Xfinity Mobile
Apple Watch 9 from Amazon when discounted
(Using Amazon Card Equal pay)
No accessories from Apple at all
Even the apple pen
Keep the phone for 24 month
And the iPad with the watch for 5 years
All you need from Apple brand
Then start investing in Apple stock
You can still get a laptop that has an OLED 120hz display with a decent processor, 16gb of ram and at least 512 gb of storage for 800 usd. Tablets at that price range for regular work like typing documents and watching media doesn’t make sense, the only tablet option I would consider is Samsung’s s9 tablet line
$1100 in Canada 🇨🇦
iPad Air 13” (M2) 2024 is a SCAM. You can get iPad Pro 12.9” (M2) 2022. Same price probably but you get 120hz Pro Motion/MiniLED/Quad Speakers/FaceID/ThunderBolt USB4/5 Studio Quality Microphones. 😂
60hz in 2024 is criminal
Any one any idea for substitute of apple pencil on Amazon
Benks apple pencil. It works just like the apple pencil second generation but $70 cheaper.
Is this a good iPad for writing a novel?
Sure why not
