Dude, I can explain. 1 I'm sorry that we forgot to include the TRX4M battery adapter and 0.9mm screwdriver when we sent you the sample earlier. Our kits include these parts, so you don't need to worry about it anymore. 2 I noticed that you seem to have pushed both 2 switchs up, so are in 7.4V instead of 6.0V, which is why your 2S battery is not perforing well.
Yes. I actually did try 6V and 7.4V and it browned out in the first video. I came home yesterday and blew out the switches with an air gun. Jogged them back and forth 4-5 times while powered on, and it is now functioning properly. I have a new video coming out showing how to calibrate the controller and set the dip switches. Its working great now. Awesome product.
I think you should heavily edit this to update with the new info regarding running on 2S. Poeple aren't going to read through all the comments to learn that it does function properly on 2S.
Nice video dude 👍🏼 thanks for the post. I've Just finished building the tarantula and put this brushless setup in it. I'm having the same problems with "brown-out". I thought it was the esc was on the blink. I did try toggling the switches with no luck, so I just parked it and haven't been back to it since. I'm very disappointed with this setup. I fitted the furitek in my trx-4m Landrover at the same time as I was building the tarantula and I'm really pleased with that setup, however, that came in at 3 times the cost. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know if you find a fix for it, and thanks again for posting this video 👍🏼
Sick build I'm getting a binding or like cogging when I am going from slow to load and adding speed. The injora team said I can adjust settings what are your ESC settings? I have the fat viper and 29/1 gears or whatever comes with their brushless combo
Exciting vid…thank goodness someone has made it possible for an easy pinion change. Will the motor mount fit up to the Ascent 18? When will this be released?
@@hyperc5249 yeah that’s what I read. I saw another video where someone said those two (Redcat & 4m) match up perfect with the furitek I think. Now I can’t find the vid. Just wanted to make sure before I pull the trigger. Awesome unbiased vids. Thank you sir.
I didn't know it was a OutRunner I thought it was an end Runner but people don't realize a lot of the times that smoothness when it turns real easy means that the torque is just not going to be there you know you need to build a fill those magnets resist you from turning it
Jeff from Injora answered to my comment on this motor’s page that they are planning to release higher torque brushless motor. Until that I won’t change my 180 87t / 370 45t for this, because heavy rigs mainly require torque, not the wheel speed.
It's AM32, so it uses sinusoidal control, not FOC. It is fundamentally different. Look it up. I'm waiting for v2 because the wiring is a freaking disaster. They are treating the mini/micro system like a 10th scale and that just doesn't work. The ESC is also large for an AM32 unit. I think I'm more excited about the motor, motor plates, and pinions being sold separately.
I switched it to both in the box stock video, and it still had the issue. I came home yesterday and blew out the dip switches. Then I jogged the switch back and forth 4-5 times with the power on, and now it is functioning properly. 6V 2S 7.4V for 3S.
I will check that out. It didn't list that in the instructions. I just double checked and it doesn't list what the second dip switch does. Most ESCs don't have to be preset for 2S to 3s. It just runs slower on the smaller battery. Strange that it doesn't list what the other switch does. Thanks for the tip.
also do you think it will fit the redcat ascent 18? as think they can use same motor as the traxxas or will the included motor mount be the issue on the redcat?
We will find out. I just got it yesterday. I'm sure it can be retrofitted. I have swapped Furitek kits with minor modifications. I'm sure they will release one for the Ascent 18 soon.
As far as I know it should except either. That told me it was programmed correct out of the factory. Most ESCs you don't have to program for a specific battery size it just runs less powerful on the lower battery.
@@RippSnortin Field oriented control. It is when the wheel meets resistance and the esc and motor increase throttle to keep the truck moving the same speed.
Brownouts are from the servo drawing too much power hey? I'm probably going to get one of these for my spare Tarantula chassis. I have everything I need except for a receiver. I don't even need the motor, but that faster top speed is appealing. I would run mine with speed gears and hope it doesn't cog on a crawl. If it does I suppose I could swap gears. I'll tell ya one thing, it is unwise to plug chinese things into your computer. It's a very bad habit. I strongly suggest not doing that.

I keep seeing people saying it must use FOC but being AM32 based it's probably a better assumption that it uses sinusoidal though.
Yes. I use the term FOC loosely. More as a function than a software. RPM matching.
I was under the assumption FOC program is just a fancy name for sine operation.

When you were having the brownouts was the BEC set to 6v or 7.4?
Both I switched it off camera, hoping that would fix it. It didn't make a difference.

Would the stock esc from the ascent 18 work? Or would you have to upgrade that?
