@@AmberMardones As a long haul driver of 7 years I hold myself to a different standard. At least, I try to. I would say probably at least 70% of the truckers I see out here today don't give af. Cutting other drivers off, speeding, impeding traffic and camping the center lanes, not driving for conditions, no pretrip or post trip inspection, and on and on and on it goes. When we can't police our own, actually work together when we need to, not to mention all the other stupid shit truckers do, yah its no surprise to me we get treated like children. I anticipate come May the speed limiter issue will be put to rest. My guess is 60 mph or slower is coming. I've noticed UPS has slowed their trucks down to 62. At least in the north east.

A Chicago company did that to me! Set my drive time back to make delivery on time…I had to pay my way back home... I willgive the name of the company soon as I get my check Friday👍🏿 stay away from foreign companies in Chicago 🤦🏿♂️

My brother works for them 1099 companies in Chicago. The feds keeps shutting them down but they keep coming back with different names.
FMCSA needs to block list their trucks VIN# so they won’t run under different authority.

It's State Express! Most of this Russian, Ukrainian polish European trucking companies are tampering the ELD and makes drivers run with very less sleep.
I had a 4 am appointment with 30mins left on the clock...they called me and said they had readjusted my drive time they use your on-duty time and whatever time you weren't driving to set ur drive time back
I think you can find plenty of European trucking companies in Chicago that comply to ELD regulations , speaking from experience. I worked for a company ( more than 150 trucks) in IL , they used Samsara ELD , good luck making any changes . I left because of the face recording cameras.

My wife's 2019 has adjustable speed warning. Actually handy, we have it set for 80 mph. It can be shut off on ours
... that speed alert would never have worked in my 140 MPH truck up and down the west coast back in the late 70's... ;-)

I load across the street from tesla in McCarran sometimes. Usually see 2 or 3 get towed in while I am loading. Not sure if they all get towed in the morning or not. Never not seen one getting towed though. Amazing reliability.

Our trucks do that. Sometimes it'll do it inaccurately too. So sometimes the speed on the signs says one thing like for instance there's this one area where the speed limit is 70 but then the stupid thing goes off and starts screaming reduce speed reduce speed reduce speed. All the while it's doing it's China thing and deducting points from your driving score which then if our score is below I think it's like 95 they pull it into the office. We also have a seat belt voice thing that sometimes is broken and so when it doesn't work and it thinks the seat belt is off it'll just keep saying seat belt is off seat belt is off seat belt is off all throughout the 12-hour of the day. Overall though even with those situations it's not been a bad company to work for.
My 2022 Cascadia already has the speed limit warning. It doesn't talk. It just lights up the dash in red for a few seconds. It's wrong most of the time, for no reason.

My truck already has an over speed warning. Actually it on my Isaac it will beep if I go 10mph above the posted speed limit. (Sadly it doesn’t always know know the actual posted speed limit it only as good as its last update)

No. Get plenty to eat and pull into the scales and report them. Or go to a truckstop by your house, call the State Police and have them come out to you. Don't let this happen, It's falsifcation of logs. Throw it back on the company safety department, don't let it fall on you.
All you gotta do is go on paper logs for a week. Next time you notice someone messing with your elds, pull a state trooper over and make them inspect your logs. That supervisor or dispatcher will be written up federally. It happened in my company.

The emissions are a bs rule. The people making the rules are flying planes EVERYWHERE. A plane puts out the same amount in 1 FLIGHT that a semi puts out in 1 YEAR!!!

Sorry Alex, but a LOT of trucks have a " tattle-tale" on their elogs that warn of " overspeed" ( that is also built in on at least my GPS a Rand McSnarley )So that's really nothing new on trucks, BUT having that system on a 4 wheeler would be great bc they then would have a " taste " of what truckers go thru. .. just my opinion 🤷

I actually don’t mind driving the actual speed limit. I wish that the technology was available and that it was implemented in such a way as to destroy any possibility of anyone getting a speeding ticket BUT also allow all vehicles of every size to actually get up to the speed limit before the mechanical or electrical speed governors kicked in. The company I work for has the governors set at 65 mph which is rather ridiculous for when they send me to Oklahoma or Texas and I feel like I’m driving a moving road block and I wish that they’d instead implement something more along the lines of 70 mph on the pedal and 75 mph on cruise control if the technology isn’t there yet for adaptive speed limiters. In any case I find myself driving with my foot pushed flat to the floor 80-90% of the time because the speed limit is 65 or 70 mph and unless going down a hill it’s not possible for me to be speeding but when the speed limit is actually slower I slow down and do the speed limit and I feel like too many people have a set speed limit they drive at on the freeway whether that’s 53 mph or 74 mph and then in town their speed limit is 5 mph faster than the posted limit. It doesn’t matter if it’s road construction or the freeway speed limit has dropped to 45 mph or 55 mph because 74 mph or 53 mph is their speed limit. Being governed at 65 mph results in me having to wait until everyone driving at 74 mph goes around me as I’m dragging ass behind the slow pokes and then I wind up going around the slow people after I’ve already wasted away 5-10 minutes of my day.
If the technology was there, instead of “warning warning slow down you are speeding” people will ignore like they ignore the seat belt alarm if they refuse to wear the seat belt just make it so that everyone can drive with their accelerator pushed flat to the floor and never get a speeding ticket. They’d still have to slow down around curves or while descending a mountain but at least that’ll stop people who are doing 74 mph in 50 mph road construction zones or on 45 mph inner city sections of freeway from being passed by people in semis who wish to do 105 mph instead. And if we train people to drive with their accelerator pedal pushed flat to the floor on the freeway after this is implemented it should also cause safe following distances to automatically come about for people paying attention and it’ll stop the whole deal about waiting 10 minutes for everyone to fly past that wants to go 20 mph over the speed limit before being able to pass someone who wants to go 17 mph slower than the speed limit.
There’s also a case of people driving slower for being too heavy to pull a hill, driving slower because of being oversized in a tight area, or driving slower because the road is covered in ice. The speed limiters don’t have to account for these situations but the drivers should be paying attention.
And my philosophy for what should be done without adaptive speed limiters : work out what the fastest speed limit is for all roads that will be traveled in the next 365 days for the vehicle size, set the speed limiters to exactly that, speeding tickets and lost jobs for people who can’t read or obey clearly posted signs. Especially if they don’t appear to even care that the signs are posted in the first place. And actually follow through on the disciplinary actions like if 105 mph in a 50 mph zone means a loss of driving privileges for 5 years, 3 years in prison, and a $10,000 fine that’s what happens even if they aren’t pulled over by a police officer and are instead picked up and arrested once they stop. If the punishments were actually enforced more regularly and consistently there’d be fewer people “risking it” hoping to not get caught because they’re in a hurry or assuming that driving on the freeway means the speed limits no longer matter because the police officers won’t chase them down at 90+ mph for safety reasons.
While driving at the exact maximum limit is ideal there’s also some consideration for leeway like 3 or 5 mph in either direction. Like it’s not a major safety hazard to be doing 65 or 75 when the speed limit is 70 but if you want to cruise around at 50 get off the freeway and if you want to cruise at 100 mph find yourself a race track. Don’t put everyone else in danger because you don’t or won’t follow basic instructions.
