Stop shunning the tax rolls with 1099. Pay it like everyone else or stay out of business.
If you operated for 5 decades on 1099 then you have scammed 5 decades on 1099...you owe.
Pay it forward or else stay in the shop on a flat tire for the rest of your days.
      Bury 1099.
Pay up or stay home. Stop scape-goating this industry for your bucks when you don't pay. The company and company driver both pay.
1099 is a scam game. If you run on it drowned on it. I don't give a dam who you are or how many decades you ran or what your business name is...
      Bury 1099 or pay up.

Alex, it cost me $1.70 cpm on a 11 year average on all expenses before paying myself a dime....
Loads on the load board are trying to pay $1.80 sometimes less to the truck as an owner operator.... So many people don't know their cost they underestimat and they go out of business and they drive the rates down for those who do know their rates.
    Brokers are predators.

Yep exactly, very well said and the first response too, these stupid truckers that shouldn’t be owners, think or “feel” like they are still making some money just because they don’t need to buy a tire that day, or do an oil change, etc. think about it this way, if you have to work an entire day just to pay for an oil change, should you be taking that job? Or if your oil change on your car costs so much that you have to work a whole day to pay it or just not do it, should you really be driving that car? Unbelievable how many useless eaters are truck owners right now gobbling up loads to make nothing and go out of business anyway, driving down rates and screwing everyone else over, literally at the same time for not even any gain to themselves LMFAO just because they’re too stupid to see it

In September of 2019, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill (AB) 5 into law. The new law addresses the “employment status” of workers when the hiring entity claims the worker is an independent contractor and not an employee.
      1. Q. What is AB 5 and what does it do?
      A. AB 5 is a bill the Governor signed into law in September 2019 addressing employment status when a hiring entity claims that the person it hired is an independent contractor. AB 5 requires the application of the “ABC test” to determine if workers in California are employees or independent contractors for purposes of the Labor Code, the Unemployment Insurance Code, and the Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) wage orders. The California Supreme Court first adopted the ABC test in Dynamex Operations West, Inc. v. Superior Court (2018) 4 Cal.5th 903. Among other things, AB 5 and later AB 2257 added a new article to the Labor Code addressing these issues (sections 2775-2787).

Hey there is another reason they are shutting down.? Alex we met at the California trucking show. We are a California company and we are keeping our California yard open put we are moving corporate to Indiana. The AB5 has a legal loophole built in it. But companies don’t want to hassle with it because it takes time to get set up for it and most companies know about it. but they made their money from the drivers and walking away with their pockets full. Don’t feel sorry for some of these companies. They can stay in business if they want to. Yes the regulations in California is hard but owners need to make the choice to stay in business or like I did move out of California to stay in business. Keep my drivers rolling. Owners can stay in business. Remember if there’s a will there’s a way and a lot of these companies they won’t to anymore so they just look at it while pour me. Pour me California. Everything else is putting me out business. Yes, it is hard, but you can make it if you really want to.

It's pretty simple, if you are leased to a company running under their authority, you are not independent. You are literally running/using their authority.

I love what your doing and I love your videos. But I disagreed with you on this because the trucking companies are providing drivers who do not have the credit or down payment with lease to own programs that never end up providing the driver with the title to their truck. The drivers are paying for the truck payment and then pays the company for maintained and storage and then serving the trucking company’s customers. A true owner operator can work for multiple brokers simultaneously and then own the truck before it is completely broken down. The employer wants to call then owner operators to not have to payroll taxes which affects the entire industry

@@todayslist37737 I agree. But many are never, never leases and the trucks get leased to multiple drivers who are told they will drive them away one day and they never do. It’s a scam that that trucking companies pull to make the driver pay for the payment. And then the state doesn’t get payroll taxes such as unemployment insurance.

The owner operators will just take thier trucks to an out of state company. If they did not own the truck, then they were company drivers. You can't be 1099 if you don't own a truck, you are a company driver, driving a company truck. Someone has to pay your workman comp and their share of the payroll taxes. Many companies has refused to hire ACTUAL O/O's from California without very annoying work arounds. If I were an Leased O/O, I would move out of CA

You have to play warfare with these states and their regulations. Instead of simply going by the rules some your company out of California and forces these regulators to meet you on your demands. If they don't have enough trucks to operate in the state, they will have to negotiate.

Its always been that way, if the company is getting away with it thats against the law. I don't care what CA does, and any dammed fool still trying to run a company out of there has lost there mind.
