    TQL is crap to work for/with. Talk to an attorney. If you drive through Cincinnati (where TQL is headquartered), you'll see a sign for "TQL STADIUM." You can't have money to have a stadium in your businesses name (in this case) without ripping off many, many, many carriers. Think about it before you book with TQL. Brokers are not needed in the trucking world. All they do is steal money from carriers.

      If they will do it to a Military Veteran they will do it to anyone! Also if you ever do decide to haul for TQL get paid on your load hauled before taking more loads from them whether it’s through them getting quick pay or getting it factored through third party it’s a small percentage fee, but it ensures you got your money, I had been hauling with them for several years on and off then started hauling for basically only them for about 7 months or more had about $37,000. In invoices not paid yet and they call me on a load that was hauled months ago and say that a lot of the food product had gone bad and that they weren’t going to pay the invoices due to that, I was a new owner operator at the time just getting out of the Military and then my new reman transmission that I just bought from weller transmission in Michigan several gears went out with only like 21,000 miles on the trans and that broke me and put me out of the game, if you don’t have to haul for them don’t, and if you do also make sure the you get the fuel surcharge up front they will try not to give it but if they really want you to haul the load they will, and double check everything including dentition is correct on the rate con, they are really scum bags though and I didn’t know enough at the time or I would have done more to try getting my invoices paid.

    F*** TQL I came back from 2 months vacation and there was a claim for a damage tire I have no idea about .

    • @kodeezieproductions
      @kodeezieproductions 26 дней назад

      They got me for a "damaged tire" the same way. I delivered an empty for them and a month later, they emailed me a claim. I submitted my pictures and inspection form that was generated from the receiver's guard shack that clearly stated the trailer was in good condition to drop off at the site -they would NOT allow you to drop off ANYTHING with a damaged tire-
      I called TQL claims department and that WITCH basically told me the pictures I submitted "were not clear enough" for them not to hold me liable; no matter what the inspection form said.
      I did some research about how to get an attorney on the case, but RTS (factoring company) already applied my reserves to their claim. Basically, once RTS gets notified that a broker is not paying the agreed invoice, they immediately seek payment from the carrier; no matter WHAT legal action you THINK you're about to take, RTS wants their money now, like JG Wentworth.
      It appears that TQL will do this to Carriers who opt to get paid by their 'standard 30-45 day waiting period' or by factoring company. That way, they can wait a few weeks until after you've completed the load to hold your payment, wait until you're running a different load then 'offset' bogus charges to your current invoice, or refuse to pay your factoring company.
      My advice to ANYONE dealing with TQL:
      (1) opt to get paid by QUICKPAY
      (2) factor your invoice with a company that has a 'non-recourse' option
      Or #3 ( and this is my favorite)...
      don't FU*KIN deal with them!

    The corporations are trying to get rid of owner ops because the trucking industry is made up of 90% owner ops. The corporations want to redefine OO by saying you a 1099 wrkr and they trying to own the trucks and make you come work for them by offering you a truck and telling you that you an 1099 Lease operator by putting all expenses on the driver and offering you (the driver) no benefits. Crazy!!!

    • @f.j.c4444
      @f.j.c4444 26 дней назад +5

      I disagree . Many owner-operators are actually company drivers. What do I mean by this? Whether you are leasing or have your own authority, if an owner-operator is working with a broker or load board, they are essentially driving for the broker or carrier that provides the load. The customer belongs to them, not the owner-operator. If you observe successful and legitimate trucking companies, you will notice that they do not engage with brokers or load boards. Why is this the case? They have actual customer. This primarily relates to tax implications. A 1099 contractor can deduct expenses without a limit, whereas with a W2 employee, the deductible options are limited.

    The transporter (e.g. the Carrier and their authorized agent/the driver for the load) is obligated only for the documented (written contract/bill of lading) cargo that was safely loaded on board. The purchase order between the seller and the buyer is not an obligation put upon the custodian (trucker) of the goods. Now, if the B/L was for 14,000 and 12,000 was delivered (verified) then shrinkage could be an issue. In the example you offered today, NO WAY is the driver responsible for a short shipment. 50 years of experience back me up.

    The broker at TQL I was dealing with was Jessica Blackburn so don’t think just cause they are a female and talk nice they won’t stab you with a knife in the back!

    All most the same thing .I pickup a load in Laredo TX to Jackson ms shipper loaded count and sael with a bolt seal. Got to delivery was given a grinder to cut the seal. Unloaded all good three days later call I was getting sue for 10' 000 because of shortage. That ended when told them to call the lady who gave me a grinder to cut the seal off. Oh it had a bolt seal yes and wasn't removed until sitting at delivery. Showing it wasn't put on the trailer from the start. And that was the end of that.

    Good afternoon Alex. Ask for that driver that is wondering if he's responsible for the $10,000 fine or charge.. first and foremost you always check your load information and if something does not add up you do not sign for it. You will be held solely responsible for it because you signed for it. I would rather reject the entire load instead of being held accountable for what my paperwork says and for what I collected

      Clearly you never loaded food or many other things.... you can't count and can't possibly know the count, yet you'll sign for it

  • @peterohmart5954
    @peterohmart5954 20 дней назад

    If you signed for it, you are responsible for it. You need to scrutinize (examine in detail) anything you are signing for. Also, if you are watching the trailer loading, you need to be particular of the product and how it is being loaded! Do not accept any damaged product. If they put pressure on you, refuse the load and have them remove it from the trailer immediately! You need to stand up for yourself, even if you a company driver. If you are company driver, call your company, describe the problem and let them make the decision. Make sure you document who you spoke to, time & date of the call, the problem you called about, and anything else to protect yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Here are my thoughts on those questions:
    1. for the TQL load what was your rate con that you agreed to? It does fall on the shipper and the broker. The shipper actually turned out to be the one to potentially break contract if they scheduled 1400 and only shipped 1200 cases that’s up to the shipper to notify the broker that’s a different rate and a different conversation to be had.
    2.i will look into how i can help with the coffee load
    3. As sad as A5 is and the destruction that is doing to the economy into the truck drivers it is in law and the only way to fight that is going to be a long uphill battle and to get it back on the ballot next voting cycle. I cannot stress enough if anybody reads this comment that everybody needs to be aware of what is happening in your local legislation in your city and your state because you do not stay advised of the bills being passed this is what happens

      Stick with small brokers with good credit. Big brokers are greedy and taking more than they deserve. And try to book your load on a Friday or a day before, when those leaches are desperate.

    Yes the driver is liable for getting the correct quantity matching the BOL for delivery. However, paperwork doesnt always reflect quantity "ordered" and the receiver will charge OSD. if owner op, instead of charging back to the shipper, its on the driver. Check ur paperwork/broker orders, packing list etc and keep copies. I was always taught once its on your truck you own it. Make sure you know. If theres a discrepancy (i know takes time(: but call the broker B4 you leave with it. Ive heard TQL sucks.. but hey. Good luck to ya driver.

  • @charlesallen1840
    @charlesallen1840 24 дня назад

    Well when the shipper said that it was 12000 he should have call TQL and let them know before he loaded it and he would've protected by doing been through that situation with them.

  • @alstonalston4781
    @alstonalston4781 25 дней назад

    On any load where the shipper loads your truck you should put SLC in big bold letters when you sign bills. SLC means shipper loaded counted. This takes the liability off of the driver. This way the Broker/Company can’t blame you for any miscount.

    After 34 years in the industry, 30 as a driver now, I am convinced that most owner operators would be better off selling their truck and being a company driver at a decent company. Yes there are a few good trucking companies to work for out there. Very few people can handle all of the responsibilities that are involved in operating a trucking company.
