Richard's restoration is just perfect. Everything about it. I also love it for what it DOESN'T have on it, which would be the awful continental kit and fender skirts. Interestingly, the '59 has more ornamentation (be it on the fenders) than the '58 preceding it, or the '60, '61 that followed. Not being an automatic though, I'd have to learn how to drive it. For a car like this I'd learn, of course.
Cat eye taillights, bat wings, spinner hub caps, GM stylists at their best, flamboyant and it expresses the unfettered optimism of the era! Interior detailing out of this world, never to be repeated. Great car view Lou! Fantastic exhaust!

I had a '59 Chevy Bel Air 4dr Sedan that my parents passed down to me for College 1966-70. It had a 283 V8 with power glide auto trans. Not enough power for a teenager. So I re-built my '59 Chevy hotrod by swapping the 283 out for a 327 V8 Bored .060 over, and a 4 speed transmission. My Chevy surprised many late 60s factory Hotrods in those days. Lou, maybe it's just me, but it seemed like you were ordering this poor guy around. Why not just let him tell the story of the car and show it his way? You're not directing a ballet, after all. It's so obvious that you're trying to pretend you know a lot about the car, when it's obvious you don't. Let the old guy inform us instead of having him respond to stupid questions. That's my suggestion.
Hi StvMcQueen1, You're right I need to let the Owner talk more and inform me / us, and also that I don't know about the cars and learning about each one as the Owner shares his story. I'm soaking up knowledge every video I'm doing. Since I see on your Channel you're into music, you'll understand that there is a component that I do need to lead because the person because many times like in this interview, he's not sure where we are going, so I can understand if you see me "ordering the poor guy around" because I'm directing. Some one has to "direct" so you know where the music is going. Not sure about the "stupid questions" I ask, I think that's subjective. I'll work on getting the Owner to talk more. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Nice car and upkeeps: would seem to be a rare Conveetivle, 4 SPD/348 etc!!....Interestingly, I spent many hours at Drive ins, cruising to Fairs, drags, ETC,: “in a 59 BLUE 2DR ,dual Exhausts(?),Chev (color.?) my best Friend had access to : “: until he got his 56 Chevrolet BelAir( mild build up).,Anyways some great Memories in. 59 CHEV.. ALSO, speaking of Loud **mufflers: I got my first TICKET FOR “ Loud **Mufflers & speeding “ (1964 ‘?, Churbusco INDIANA.....in my 54 Ford , with 289 57 Engine/ Dual straight THROUGHS)..... raucous!,,,Actually TICKET WAS: was an INTOWN , LOW SPEED THING.....fortunately , I have never have had another moving or Motor violation .....INCREDIBLE,,!,
Ps: would be interesting to see build numbers on 59 Convertibles Chevrolet,,,seems like a ton of them NOT :348/ 3 x2, 4 SPD FACTORY.......!!I was sore afraid to date in the Family **59:Dodge Station Wagon: until I got my BLUE/White 54 Ford: built up!,

I know that this rare classic has been sold, do you have any 1969 or 1960 impala or Belair available? ? Iam from Western Canada.
Hi M C, This is the cars I'm familiar with that are for sale. Lou ruclips.net/p/PLkoIzmOYXcci6LqtOTkLdvd6KH4aE2Ku1
Nice
Hi estpst, Glad you enjoyed this classic :-) Lou
Thanks for not taking my comment as a slam. I enjoyed seeing this car a lot. My old Aunt Ruthie (rest her soul) had a new '59 Biscayne that she was so proud of. That car took me and my little cousins on many a fun-filled outing. Hope the rest of your Holdays are great, Lou!
When you share videos about a topic people are passionate about like cars, it helps to be ready for comments to be good, bad, and ugly :-) I hope your holidays are great too.
StvMcQueen1 He was trying to hurry it up because people started to walk over and wanted to talk to the owner
Wow
Happy to receive a "Wow" from you IVOR WM :-) Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this RUclips Channel, Lou
I had one of these in 1962 white Impala convert 283 2 barrel powerglide with red interior
it was NOT a good car ....but nice video Lou
Hi Kenneth Connors, Thank you for the compliment on the video, and sorry to read about your experience with the one you had, Lou
it was 1960;s and cars were junky , had a new 1963 impala convert 4 speed 409 red with black interior it was pretty but could NOT keep a clutch in the car , after the 4th clutch in 5 weeks dealer canceled warrantee, to show how different cars were then I bought a used 64 Plymouth 4 speed 383 clutch lasted life of car had it 11 years .NO trouble just a water pump that went at 49,600 miles and dealer replace free..GM was iffy then
PS love you videos brings back so many memories
Kenneth Connors my dad has a 1964 impala ss manual powerglide but reverse, first and second gear don't work... only third and fourth once we fix it... we'll go to some shows too
