Hi Mark & Amanda. I know you don't have a dog, but can you tell me if you think it would be easy enough to install a child/pet gate near the door? My little Bichon would charge through the fly screen and damage it. Would a diesel heater be worth installing for cold weather? Compressor fridge, Sirocco 12v fans? I'm looking to buy a Burstner Lyseo Harmony Line 684G in 2026 when I move from Australia. Stuart
Hi Stuart. So, we are sure that you can get a proper pet gate to go in the door way but also think a kids one would as our door is quite wide. With regard to the diesel heater - if you buy a van that has a winterised pack then you'll be more than insulated and protected from the winter especially if it has a Thuma 6 boiler. Mark thinks a compressor fridge is better and more economical as our fridge uses a lot of gas. We don't have air con but thinking about it as if you're heading to places like southern Spain in the summer you'll definitely need it! Are you buying new or secondhand? Thanks for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
@@AdventureswithAmandaandMark - I would like to buy brand new, but am open to a slightly pre-used (1-2 years) if need be. The purchase depends on whether buying new is a problem as I will be in the process of getting Long Stay Residency, and sometimes the dealers find the paperwork of an initial registration to a foreigner difficult. I plan to spend a lot of time off grid (maybe only 2 nights a week on electric hook-up), so a compressor fridge, lithium and more solar are top priorities for me. Kind regards, Stu

Hi Richard, we bought the wheel on EBay having had a discussion with the seller about the specification - it's a cheap steel "emergency" wheel and we put an old tyre on it! Thanks for asking 😍
Another very informative blog. Have carried out most of your upgrades on my van. Regarding the gaslow system. In the UK, and here in Portugal, the percentage of propane to butane is approx 100% but in other countries (e.g. Spain) it is less so in the cold season be careful where you fill up. Some countries have different percentages for winter and summer. Safe travels.

Hi A&M, thanks for going through your upgrades, very helpful as we are planning a few 👍 Couple of questions, if you can assist? 1. Did you consider a wifi upgrade/external antenna? 4. Approximate cost of the 2 X AGMs and did you consider a "power station" (All power/Bluetti or similar)? Hope you don't mind the enquiries and all the best with your future travels 👍
Hi Paul, thank you for the questions and no problem at all. 1 - Gaslow approximate cost was £600, and we chose the 6kg bottle option so there was head space in the cabinet for the gas filter and the 90 degree adaptor without needing to shorten any existing gas pipes. 2 - There are many potential suppliers of the Spare Tyre Bracket, many are on eBay, prices vary from as low as £160 delivered for a brand new one - Coastal Motorhomes are actually selling one right now for £125.58 with coupon code. 3 - We have thought about Starlink for the future but right now we have a NetGear MiFi to make use of and will see how that goes. 4 - The AGMS cost £334 and we bought them from Tayna - 2 Enduroline 110 AGM Leisure batteries 95Ah. We already have a 512 Wh Ecoflow which we have being using a lot for our off grid needs. If you have anymore questions, please let us know - what upgrades are you thinking of?
