And you can never go to them when you have problems because they can't really support you or don't know how to? All my best friends are that person, and I feel bad because I shouldn't think of them like that.

You can also be multiple of these at the same time. I know I am. But just remember that those who are typically empathic are ones to get the most hurt as we can be taken advantage of or be taken for granted a lot of the times. I know this from experience. It will destroy you but you will learn that it’s important to love yourself and make yourself happy too.
It’s easy to lose sight of this as we tend to want to make sure that everyone else is happy first and cared for at the cost of our own happiness. It also depends on social status too (I came from a low to middle income family and now I’m highly successful). I know that people who come from money tend to be less grateful compared to those that don’t have money but the people that don’t have money tend to abuse your generosity and kindness. So in the end just make sure there are boundaries in place. Make sure that everything is truly genuine because as time goes by you will learn who those people really are.
If you’re anything like me, caring, empathetic, loving and just wants everything to be as perfect as possible and it ends up not working out that way, you’re going to be in for a lot of hurt.
In the end, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Do what you feel is right and but don’t over do it. Trust your intuition. Learn to forgive and remember you can’t change others, you can only change yourself so make yourself happy first.

6) The Loyal Best Friend:
Always there for you. Feels more like family. You love to spend time with them. Someone who you'll keep in your heart forever.
7) The Mother Figure:

The loyal best friend is a type I have. She is in another school and is not part of my daily life but I go to her home sometimes, specialy in the holidays. We have been friends for years and I can tell everything about anything to her. Truly a treasure of a friend

I felt a connection to the secret keeper type and thought "yeah, I still have memories of secrets some friend shared with me 10 years ago even though I don't see those people anymore".
And when the mother figure was mentioned, I felt so called out. I 'm totally the type to bring snacks to a gathering or to lend stuff to friends in need.
I’m probably the older sibling friend and the loyal best friend. I had no idea I was such a big impact in my friends’ life and being such an important figure to them. Thanks Physch2Go- Love this! 💜

The last one really touched me😢 I had a very loyal friendfor over 6 years and we don't talk anymore because of some circumstances. I really miss her and even though we don't talk she'll always be part of my family and my most trusted person.
Y'know, the more I think about it my friend group I had was pretty bad. I've grown as a person by now and am no longer associating with many of those people. I've found my own new group that share my interests and are like brothers to me. Edit: Thank you guys for sharing your experiences! It helped me grow as a person and move on the the next chapter of my life.

Nana Flores 99 and then if you do ONE TINY THING to annoy them, they will try to ruin your life. I have that friend, and one time I was talking to my friend about my problems and crying and the toxic one, lets call her... Olivia. Olivia was "crying" so we went to go help her, thinking it was real.(It was pretty convincing). Then my friend lets call her Tyler. Tyler said "We are going to walk around the block and let you calm down, Ok?" And then we left. Olivia met up with me and Tyler when we were about halfway around the block and I said to her " No offense, but you don't look like you were crying" she said "Thats because I wasnt. As me being a rlly shy person, i only have a few friends right now. That last ones sounds like me from what I've been told
I don't have many close friends, but I do consider myself to be a very loyal person. I will stop whatever I'm doing and come and help whatever is needed.
I’m a mixture of all of these, but my loyal best friend came out more this year. One of my best friends lost two of her friends over stupid stuff, and her family doesn’t always validate her feelings, so it was a lot of reassuring her she did nothing wrong and that her feelings are valid; lots of big hugs; and a couple tardies. Unfortunately this drama caused our friend group to basically split in half; but they were willing to treat her like crap, they weren’t and aren’t the kind of people I want to be around. Despite all this, when my best friend saw one of the “friends” alone at prom; she asked me if I thought we should ask them to dance with us. We eventually decided against it, so not to cause any drama and ruin the night. If I see them around, I’ll still be civil; but I’m not going to seek them out.
What about the “terrible” friend that insults you all the time but would take a bullet for you?

I’m a loyal secret keeper, but I won’t stay with a friend if I am aware that they are taking advantage of me in some way
one friend I had was a fearless adventurer.
His initials started with a T, and so did mine. So we gave each other the nicknames Big T and Little T.
He took me to see what lied outside of my rural town, and into a city or two.
Sometimes it was very scary cas I felt like I was in the stereotype of the deep dank ghetto, about to get murdered.
other times it was beautiful and I saw a river that I one day wanna revisit. It made me wanna move into a city and give it a try.
He isn't around my life anymore cas after a bad ex breakup that caused some beef in our squad of homies, he is rlly focusing on getting his life in perfect or at least as close to perfect condition as a human can get.
Rlly great guy who didn't judge me a lot. And as a handicap that's rare to come by.

Besides this was mostly middle school, and I didn’t exactly have the best reputation. Either I didn’t get along with people, they didn’t like me or they were just manipulative friends.
Nowadays things are better, unless they’re not. Lately though a former (long distance, keep in mind) friend and I have been on the verge of fighting again. While I’ll admit it is my fault (Which will take a long time to explain), I can say she’s been a little *too* .. spiteful.
She even snabbed my moms contact somehow and idk what she’s gonna use it for (most likely to message her and go “yo ur daughter has twitter lol” since I’m not allowed to have that) but it’s definitely not anything good. Honestly it doesn’t take half a brain to know that’s not gonna solve shit.
And honestly as much as she is *terrifying* and intimidating to me these days, I almost feel like the whole stealing-moms-contact is a hoax just to scare me away. Again, she already intimidates me but I’m not sure what’s worse at this point. Whatever it is I’m not letting that shit get to me.
Anyone else feel like their friends are just pretending to like them when you’re in school but in reality even in school you catch their little notions hinting they’re annoyed or whatever. And they always talk and hang out after school without asking you to join. It’s not fair. I would always stick up for my friends and help them. But they laugh along if it’s me. Maybe they aren’t rly my friends

But once we got to high school, she just ghosted next and pretended I didn’t exists. I would say hi in the hall and text her and she would ignore me. So she made her new pop, bratty, and annoying friends. And I stuck with what I liked, the “weird” kind. But I still feel off

I’m really sorry your feeling like this. I’ve distanced myself from getting close to anyone at my high school because I feel it’s best for me. But if your questioning then, I’d say the best thing is to have a conversation with them about it. Because friends should be able to be honest with each other. And if they take it harshly, or don’t change the best thing is to probably find new friends.

I’m not the youngest in my friend group, but I’m always the extremely affectionate and mother friend. I give hugs when I’m willing to, ask people if they’re okay whenever I can, make sure if anyone needs to vent to me and if they need to vent I’m all ears, I give advice but don’t try to fix an issue of theirs (a bit hard to explain and elaborate on that, but I feel that they’re capable of fixing it themselves, and it will help them grow as a person. If I fix one of their issues, I feel as though they’ll ask me from then on to fix all of their issues. I’m all about giving advice but don’t want to interfere with people’s problems, sorry if I seem like some sort of asshole because of that lol), I overwhelm people with love.
Basically looking out for everyone and giving people love even when they already have enough lol

The milky way Aww bless you! Deep down you know your own mind and what's right for you, but of course don't ignore a parent's advice in life. It's perfectly ok to change your mind and go in a new direction if you don't feel right in what you're doing, at your age I would be surprised if you exactly knew what you wanted in general because I was always changing my mind, there's just too many possibilities. It's also fine to be brave or not brave sometimes, it's natural and something that everyone experiences, as you get older you will develop into a much stronger person. You will figure out who you are and where you fit in the world but for now, just focus on being a kid and don't rush in to things - you have so much time to stick to a certain path in life. I wish you the best and hope you find out more about yourself, you should try MBTI tests or enneagram tests online to find out about your personality it's really interesting, or at least I find it interesting haha x
I have my one brother from another mother who has all these qualities and the way he motivated me in my days of depression. I'm for real in love with him.
I just had a falling out with a best friend who forced himself to be all of these and ended up being none of them. There were definitely times where he genuinely felt like two or three of these, but he ended up using my trust against me, and I actually lost a lot of other friends because of it. I don’t even know when he’s telling the truth anymore. I hope he learns to be a bit more honest with his next best friend.

3 of my freinds are the same
I don't have any definition about what I'm going through, but it is definitely not good.
Once i had a group of friends, they were all the best for me. At that time we were all together, it went on even when we weren't together.
I never prioritized one over the other.
With time things changed. Different layers in the group emerged, and clarifying all that became tough . I wanted to truly keep them for always.
But with time a lot changed. No one admits that.
I have started feeling insecure about our friendship now, and i feel left out.
I thought that i can't force anything upon them, or changes are meant to happen.
Some of them are still together, and I'm happy for that.
Sometime before i stopped talking to them, or sharing anything. I tried to clarify them about the situation but it was not that clear from my side, i was unable to handle that.
People with whom I used to enjoy talking, with whom I used to wait to talk, now I feel like crying while talking to them, unable to figure out how should i make better.
