The best hug I ever received happened when I was fifteen. I was in choir, and it was the last concert of the year. Everyone was hugging each other and bidding farewells to each other. One hug I received came from a boy who was eighteen. He wrapped his arms around me and held me to his chest. He also told me in a warm tone of voice that he always wanted to hug me. This type of hug wasn't mentioned in the video.

My friend loves hugs a lot, he hugs me like 10 times a day, usually he will wrap his arms around me from the side, and not let go, he's super clingy, but its adorable. We hug so much to the point where people see us and think were dating, even though we're not.

As soon as someone hugs me (which never happens lol) I become so awkward and my thoughts go crazy with fear and confusion. This is probably because I wasn't hugged enough when I was younger or because I haven't been shown much affection my entire life
My parents r really affectionate and I'm like this to, idk y really ig cuz it's how I am, I'm just weird XD
this used to be me. Just high fiving or fistbumping my friends would make me feel nervous and confused. Even just a hand brush or any other contact in general would have me wondering about it the entire day.
in HS I made friends who liked to hug and link arms in the halls which I wasn't at all used to. It was a little uncomfortable but I also liked it at the same time. I had been trying to put myself out there and get out of my comfort zone, so I went along with it: giving hugs everyday we see each other and arm linking in the halls.
Two years later, I'm much more comfortable with contact, and I even hug my guy friends on occasion. (tho I mostly do that 'dap up' greeting guys have...they actually briefly hold hands at the end of the 'dap up' handshake/slap)
It can be a bit scary at first since the contact feels a bit vulnerable..but it also feels vulnerable for those around u too. it will ultimately bring you closer (unless you or a friend _really_ don't like contact...then set that boundary).
i had a friend on school who always gives hugs and kisses. I remember that it just felt really nice and warm. although i don't hug back since I'm not the type of person who boldly shows affection, i really appreciate that she does that randomly. It honestly make me feel better and is just therapeutic. I haven't seen her for like 2 years now because of covid and we kinda grew distant , but I really appreciate her existence and friendliness towards me even if i never told her that❤️

I hate long hugs lol it’s like your purposely trapping yourself right by this other person that is completely touching you, and it is probably rude to try to pull yourself off, but if you don’t, then your still trapped. It’s the most uncomfortable thing ever.
It's just common for my friends that we always do long hugs when we see each other... It just really feels natural and conveys our emotions when we are sad or distressed like nothing else❤️
Since when my best friend has started to recover from her depression and we started hanging out more often, i always hug her like in a long hug before we say bye 'cause I know she doesn't have many friends now and she needs my support and I want her to feel well and loved (in a friendly way) when we're together: I want to be there for her so she never needs feel that bad again in the future

A regular hug that I’m pretty sure every friend does with each other when they hug.
For me the “flirty hug” and the “side hug” convey the same thing. It’s just a friendly hug. I hug my friends that way whenever I see them. 🤷♀️

i was waiting for another type of hug... the one you share with someone with indescribable need of physical contact and chemistry, when you just grab the person and hug/squeeze them real strong as if you wanted to melt into them and them into you. I've shared a few of these intense hugs with friends or lovers and they have always been my favorite. this hug is the most vulnerable, when you explicitly show to the person how much you need them and how much they mean to you, when you mutually lay yourself bare and let your guard down. but i guess it could be counted in the long hugs

I became a Master Mama Bear Hugger, lol, when I taught preschool and elementary school. Current and Former students would visit me and ACTUALLY request a hug, usually if they were having a bad day or stressful moment. They'd say, "School Mom, can I have a BIG hug? I really need it." No one was ever turned away. It was one of my favorite EXTRA teacher requirements. One of my favorite moments was when the middle school basketball team won a championship and some players "broke protocol" and ran to my after school program to receive and give me celebratory bear hugs!!! 😅😆😂🤣😍😎 Some of the younger kids ACTUALLY protested, saying they didn't think BIG KIDS needed hugs. 😮🤤 TEACHABLE MOMENT!!! 4 years ago I started giving more hugs than I ever did before.
Since three years I'm receiving more hugs than I ever did before and the amount keeps increasing year by year.
By now I'm giving and receiving so many hugs each day, I lost count.
Each and every one of those hugs is full of love and I cherish them all.
4 years ago, I gave birth to my oldest daughter, 2 years later to the second and 3 months ago, my third daughter was born. I love them all to bits and I'm showing it to them with lots of hugs every day. Their happy faces and the tight hugs I get in return, are what's keeping me going :)

My favorite hug is the reverse hug with close friends, love interests, or family. It makes me feel so safe, loved, and secure on the receiving side. While on the giving side, it brings warmth and comfort, holding onto something I love.

Being hugged is such an important part of our development of attachment and trust. Knowing how & when to hug, is part of knowing when it is appropriate. The energy that we give off, reciprocates how it will be received! So yes showing for what time is appropriate for each occasion & intent is so important is terms of cultural and socialtal considerations. Giving hugs 🫂 is an another level of connecting and showing affection. Being open and giving affection should not be given or received as being awkward. Be mindful, wise and authentic 🤗💗😊

The Bear Hug! I have a friend who's been giving me them since elementary school! She's the only person who does it, so it's always special. Sometimes it's also a long hug. That's when I start to be concerned about the safety of my ribs - lol!

I don't know if it's gonna sound awkward but I don't usually let people hug me . it's because I start feel like I'm melting and get emotionally sensitive . this emotional sensitivity lasts for days and that's why I deny when someone tries to hug me
Man I'm the same way. For me I'm often scared I'll get too attached to the person and won't let them go because the touch starvation is real, but emotional sensitivity is definitely a thing as well
I don't like being hugged or hugging others until we get to a certain point in our relationship, whatever that may be. When I was in college, a friend would always give me a hug when I saw her and it always made me feel like she was crossing boundaries. When I explained this to her, she was really surprised because she thought that there was nothing wrong with greeting friends with hugs, even people she wasn't especially close to. At that time, she felt mostly like an acquaintance to me. After a couple years she was really a friend (at which point we were also roommates), and we actually didn't hug unless we were going our separate ways for breaks from school.
