@Peét Moss Western capitalist life is not meant to be lived in s satisfying way....which unfortunately is what majority of the world follows. A major factor for happiness is being self content and putting a limit to your greed. Bhutan a small country has Gross Happiness index instead of GDP.

    Slight rant just for fun:
My greatest personal struggle as a 25 yr old with intelligence is how to most adequately apply my potential, to achieve the outcomes that I envision, within a limited time horizon and relatively below decent capital at the moment. I know innovation is in my future and I genuinely feel success on the horizion, it's just which pathway is the best one to dedicate my work ethic to for the best possible results and least time wastage. If only I could plug this scenario into a calculator and get the resulting unique variable to prioritize haha.

@Addicted to Psychology sometimes it’s because your “intelligence” is really AUTISM that gets overlooked & misdiagnosed for a plethora of psychological disorders, instead of the neurological condition it really is.
You are correct in that when the brain is heavily active or gifted in one area, it has to compensate in another….. I don’t feel like it’s fair to assume that this is a choice for everyone.

I can very much relate to point 5. I’m learning a lot everyday; however, I am starting to realize that I truly know nothing. Though I may know more than I did yesterday, I still feel like I am not any smarter or knowledgeable. I isolate myself from my friends and others so I can dedicate massive amounts of time towards things I am interested in, like guitar, astronomy, politics, reading, and philosophy. I know that I’m more knowledgeable than the average person, but this is also a curse at the same time. I have this irrational thought that I am behind in life and that I need to catch up through educating myself even further. I’m not depressed, but rather encompass a feeling of disappointment in myself for not knowing more. Ignorance is bliss for sure. Sometimes you just have to lay back and take it easy on yourself. It isn’t fun to restrict yourself of the joys of life so then you can know what happened during the Napoleonic Wars or how the Higgs Field gives elementary particles their mass. Just go with the motion of the ocean :)

Don't push yourself so hard. The simple fact that the things you don't know overwhelm you validates your high intelligence. I like to consider myself a perpetual student. My advice is to keep learning actively, all the time, instead of ruminating how much you don't know. While you are learning and studying you can't be thinking at the same time about what you ignore. Studying, discovering, joining the dots, is the most fulfilling and rewarding thing in the world for intelligent people.

Intelligent people have friends, it’s just that they can get easily overwhelmed with “small talk.” Intelligence can be found in many different ways,
Intelligence is one of the most neglected or overlooked skills. If people actually knew what they were intelligent in from the time they were around 10, life would be a lot easier, but it would also make life less fun.

As much as we want to be normal like everyone else whatsoever. Deep inside we all know that there is something that even we are having difficulties to explain. For 30 years I have been struggling. But it makes me happy for the long process I finally understand a lot of things about life itself. As long as we feel happy, I am pretty sure that we will be alright.

When young, I was thought to have "problems" because I was out of step with everybody else. They say ignorance is bliss, and it is. Intellectual purgatory is when a person is too smart to not know something and yet too dumb to know how to fix it.

I do not think im smart. Im often under the impression that everyone is as smart or smarter then I am.. Even when people tell me I am smart I feel they only think this because I know a lot about one thing (Or so I think)/ Yet they know more then me about other things.
I often over think over thinking and this stresses me out. Some of my friends only talk to me when they need help with the things im good at, but zone out when I try to teach them =/
I sometimes get frustrated when someone tells me they know something just to have it be not true, resulting in something failing. If your not sure then say your not sure.
I think "Smart" Is just a tittle you get from people who know less then you in one subject or another.

As someone legitimately tested by a doctor at the limit of the IQ test I took and knowing everyone is different, these all basically apply to me. 9 and 15 are exceptions. I am quick to dispose of unlikely options and I am very good at predicting people. Here is a general prediction about people, at least here in the USA: we will be a full on autocracy by 2018 with no real elections.
