Oy. Chloe, listen, this isn't as helpful as you think.
#1: Sure, look at how she is around others compared to how she treats you. Tells you some things about her. But it is possible that she is just bad at flirting, and is into you while also being nice to others. Or - on the other end of the scale - she is fake nice to everyone, including you. In an age where getting this wrong can land you in life-ruining hot water, and watching her interactions with others can also get you labelled a creep, this is not something a man is going to do anymore.
#2: Group hangs only might also mean that she has a roster. She is trying to hide the fact that she likes you from the one she likes best, but still wants to keep you in orbit. This one is still pretty valid, though, so I am willing to accept this one.
#3: Her texts being dryer than the Sahara could also be indicative of a boring person, or it could be that she is feeling particularly entitled to his attention and does not feel she has to put in any effort. Still a good point you make.
#4: Compliments to appearance can be a manipulation to get a guy to give her time or money or effort, too. Same with relationship discussions. This is how women lead men on all the time. And, as with #1, if a guy gets this signal wrong, the danger is great.
How about this: We men communicate directly. Never does a woman end up in legal trouble from something she misconstrued a man said or did for flirting. So, can we agree that the direct method of communication avoids confusion and danger? Because your advice is going to get men into situations where the best possible outcome is "sorry, I have a boyfriend," when she doesn't. If you like him, stop playing around and let him know. You expect it of him, right?
