Hi yogis! This is VERSION 2 of my "No Mat Yoga Class." This is yoga you can do anywhere! If you don't have a mat or you can't put your hands on the ground, this is the perfect stretch and flow practice for you. This second version is 10 minutes and the first version is 5 minutes (published a week before this video). The poses are simple and we include all of the following: forward folds, standing backbend, side stretch, twist, strengthening and stretching the lower body and opening the chest and shoulders. Enjoy your practice! P.S. I filmed this while on vacation in Montreal at 22 weeks pregnant :) - Maris
I’m a senior, and appreciate this flow because it doesn’t require getting on the ground - as that “ship has sailed” for me! Thank you for a brief, calming, yet energizing practice. 🙏🏽
Thank you, thank you, thank you! So grateful for this short, standing practice with no mat, no hands on the ground ♥️. It’s perfect after my daily stroll.
This is perfect for someone who can't really be on the floor and who is overweight, it helps my upper thighs so much! I've actually watched this several times for several years on and off and I never gave it a thumbs up! What is wrong with me!??? lol...thanks for this!
230522 Thank you!!! That was exactly what my very stiff morning (no access to a yoga mat) body needed this morning. Perfect! Feeling much better. Thank you. Namaste.
Maris, thank you for these videos. I have spent too much time finding the best instructor on youtube and I am SOOOO happy that I finally found you! (aka, you da bestest) You create the perfect balance of intensity and pacing. I haven't been practicing long, but enjoy the challenge and benefits of intermediate and advanced classes. However, because of my relatively novice status, I take the time to really focus on my breath and move more slowly and deeply through the poses. Almost every other guided practice on here makes me feel like I have to sprint to try and keep up. I lose my breath and I end up haphazardly moving through the poses. I greatly appreciate you keeping the depth and steadiness of the breath at the core of all your videos, including the more challenging ones. You also provide the perfect amount of instruction and reminders (I can often scrunch up my face in concentration so I love your gentle reminder to relax my face). Your guidance communicates the essentials without being intrusive. I cannot stand when I'm trying to deepen my connection with my body and the instructor continues to chatter and invade. You are wonderful and have a radiant presence. I love that you always have a smile throughout your flows.
You're welcome, Helen! Not sure if you've seen my announcement about my new membership site YOGA UPLOAD PLUS yogauploadplus.com/ I would love to hear some feedback from you. You can try it out for free! Let me know if you have any questions. :) - Maris
Maris, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this 10 minute standing practice!!! No matter how tired I am, I can do this, and it is really calming and energizing at the same time. Deep Bow of Gratitude to You, Yogini!
Thank you Maris! This is exactly what I was looking for, yoga stretch that I can do anywhere, making it so easy for any post workout stretch anywhere! Love this flow.
stumbled on to your videos while searching for inspiration to start yoga and feeling the studios offer less support and guidance for poses. I felt your videos were extremely helpful and being who I am, I need instruction on what muscles are doing what in each move to help me understand the pose. I see a lot of intermediate videos, hopeful I can work up to those and then feel confidence to do them. I would like to see more for beginers like me :)
