- In this video I show you how to install a custom Android 13 OS Called Lineage OS . This will basically bring new life into this 2016 tablet. The other main reason im doing this is for modern app support. I cant install modern apps on the old Android version 8 which was the last supported official version from Samsung.

It worked great! Thanks. Just something that happenned to me and may happen to others is that the Google apps are installed with internet blocked. You must find the apps in configurations and allow internet connection.
Had to restart once because of boot loop when starting LineageOS for the first time but after that everything worked exactly as you described. Thank you very much for giving me probably a couple of more years with my Galaxy Tab A 2016!

Thank you so much. Unselecting auto reboot in Odin was key to take the time to reboot after flashing the recovery. I was stuck for two weeks.
I made it all the way to the Android 13 upgrade - working fine. I missed the part about not rebooting until Gaaps is installed. If you enable advanced restart and boot to trwp recovery mode, you can install Nikgapps for Android 13. I couldn't find Gapps for v. 13. Much easier. Thanks for the video.

Great video! I’m looking for the best custom ROM for my Samsung A6 to upgrade from the default Android 8. I'm mainly looking for a smooth and stable experience. Do you recommend upgrading to a newer version like Android 13, or would an older version like Android 10 be better for performance? and thanks in advance

@@babb4214 you're welcome honestly because these tablets are so old I would recommend just sticking to whatever has been tested and working for that version of hardware because newer doesn't always mean better in this case.
LOS 21 already come out. I think it's smoother and faster.

Hello everyone, can the memory be unified? Do you know what happens if the microSD becomes corrupted? We'll still be able to save the tablet, right? Or would it be safer to just move the apps to the SD card? Thanks!
This works great and is a good way to breath new life into an old device. However, bank apps tend to detect the fact you're device has a none factory OS and won't allow use.😓

what are you doing (step by step) after adding the recovery.tar to install the play store? I'm getting confused as it is all sped up. Everything is working for me up until that point.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A T355Y. I tried the steps but when I install the Lineage OS.tar file on tablet with TWRP - there is an error - E: Error Executing updater binary in zip.....

When I restart recovery from lineageOS it boots me back into twrp 🤔and from there i install the gapps and refuses to properly work into the OS. Should I just keep wiping the device, flashing the OS until it works? or install an older version that other users have found no issues with?

I have been trying to install Lineage on my Samsung Tab s2, seems discontinued apart from unofficial links.
Got a far as lineage install then failed.

I'm not sure on that model generally the the emphasize if it's not listed as supported it's not going to work but technically speaking my tab A isn't supported either. So you got the team win recovery installed and everything first ?

When I'm trying to wipe in TWRP it failed to mount bunch of partitions and failed, says full selinux support is present, any idea? TWRP version is 3.7.0_9-0.

every time I reboot system it always starts in TWRP it never starts Linage OS
Didn't work. After flashing, I restarted using your method holding down power, volume down and home. Once the screen flashed, I held down volume up and it restarted normally instead of booting into recovery
After trying a second time, I got the little android with a yellow exclamation mark. Nothing happened.
Third time's the charm!

on the tablet i get a message "binary size too large" , and on ODIN i get a failed message, idk what I'm doing wrong here...
I am getting the same issue, same links from the video, sm-t550 model, weird.
@malakies999 my tablet is stuck, will not start up, keeps loading... Tbh don't waste your time, its not worth it in my opinion, i spent a full night trying to find the correct version for my tablet, i've installed a wrong version i suppose, now i"m stuck...

There should be a option regardless of language. You can try another program as well doesn't need to be 7-zip. Google how to convert .img to .tar.

I can totally see using lineage OS on a tablet for those that want a google free tablet having a.o.s.p.
Restart to recovery always boots into teamwin screen. No chance to get lineageos recovery. Any idea what's wrong?
@@beatsuter2952 that's what your trying to do . Your supposed to have team win recovery to proceed. Nothing is wrong.

Edit: fixed it by using 7zip for archiving img into tar, winrar won't work
the tablet keeps rebooting a lot after you press reboot> system in twrp. Is my device cooked? im using the same model sm t585
Its a boot loop you flashed it wrong. To fix make sure you actually format the tablet full with all the selections or it wont work. You rushed it most likely.
can I use spen with this version?

Yes, I just did it following this tutorial. While wiping data I ran into error "failed to mount /data", but found another video how to fix that! Also got the G apps working.
