    5.00 is my all time favourite classical song! Would love to hear the full peice when it's done! I'm saving for my first harp and would love to eventually be able to play that piece.

    You are doing so well learning by yourself. You mentioned that you would like to take lessons. If you can’t find one locally that is a good fit for you there are great one on one lessons by accomplished teachers on line. For me that worked better than in person local. The local teacher and I didn’t mesh

    Congratulations for making this video! You've done so well on the harp within one year! I especially like when you play and sing (in week six) - I'm not sure I could do this! So all the best you your harp-journey!!!!!

    So beautiful and inspiring! I’m getting my 1st harp tomorrow. I had beginner piano lessons and beginner guitar lessons. My background is mostly voice lessons and performance. I probably won’t learn as quickly as you have, but your video was so encouraging. I also will be trying to learn mostly on my own. Did you join a community or use specific resources you could share for getting started on the basics and finding music to play?

    • @mt07_cas
      @mt07_cas  8 месяцев назад

      Funny enough, my background is voice and piano! Best thing about learning the harp is that it sounds beautiful even if you play the wrong note haha!
      I learned mostly from RUclips videos and Pamela Bruner's Play The Harp Beautifully beginner books! They helped a lot!! But mostly, I just fiddled around a lot until I found a song I really wanted to play, then I tried finding Piano sheet music that I could use for the harp. It doesn't always work, but its a fun process either way!
      Congrats on your new harp and I hope you love it a lot

    Great video and wonderful to see you progress so well and so quickly. Your finger positioning is pretty much perfect in my eyes. Also I love your harp (I have the same!). Can you advise how you recorded your journey as the quality is perfect. I have been learning for a year now and I have put up one video so far on youtube. However, the quality of my video sounds awful compared to yours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Absolutely amazing. You are an inspiration to all who watch this video. Could you share where you found that version of Claire de Lune for the Harp? I've been looking for a simple version for a late beginner or early intermediate player.

      I’m sorry for never responding! I actually had an old piano sheet (original notation) and just sorta adapted it to what I could do on the harp 😅 I’m sure there is an intermediate edition out there though!

    Youre learning fast but I think most of it has to do with that have a background in music. I would like to find a video like this on someone who does not have a background. A complete novice so I can relate too and see if its possible to learn on my own.

    • @mt07_cas
      @mt07_cas  4 года назад +1

      ingrid R I understand completely! Learning from absolutely scratch is definitely daunting. My advice is to just try! Everyone starts from the beginning after all :) I just happened to start with piano.

    I would really like to start with arp but the thing that is stopping me, if I understood correctly, is that you cannot modulate to other keys because of the tuning of the instrument. I'm pretty sure I would feel limited.

    • @LMc-l7h
      @LMc-l7h 3 года назад

      If the harp has pedals or levers you can change the key easily enough. If there are neither then you must retune the strings accordingly, but depending on the key and the size of the harp, that's not a huge deal. It might just mean 4 b-strings, or 4 f-strings, which doesn't take long. But accidentals will be unavailable. You could just set your harp to a favorite key. But a levered harp is not much more cost than the same model, without levers. Especially if you only get levers on select notes rather than all the strings.

    You sound really good from the beginning to end. Did you use gut strings? What type of harp do you have? Thank you. 🙏 🎶...is this a dusty string boulevard with gut?

    • @mt07_cas
      @mt07_cas  4 года назад +2

      Carmen Freeman thank you so much! The bottom octave are steel and the rest are nylon that came with the harp. This is the Dusty Strings, Ravenna 34 floor harp. I think it has a great sound, but having gut strings would definitely give it a nice sound as well!
