    That Sailor Moon song at the end was actually one of the first songs I TRIED to play on the harp. But since I only managed to coordinate 2 fingers it didn´t sound like much XD You could regonize the melody but the pacing was ofc totally off.
    But it´s very motivating to see how far you can come as a total beginner!

    • @britishfiredemon
      @britishfiredemon 4 года назад +3

      I was a total newb and I'm still playing and progressing. It never stops. I don't thing I've played the SM song since I recorded this. I kinda want to find the music again and see what it's like now if I brush off the dust.

      SM was my all time favorite manga growing up. When I found an arrangement for the harp, it was not a question of if I was going to play it, but how fast I could learn it. @@LearningtheHarp It was amazing, the harp was absolutely stunning, it was a Lyon and Healy pedal harp. And my teacher is really great, she really emphasises the technique from the very beginning so I really appreciate it. On Monday I am going to rent my first harp, it’s going to be a Salvi Mia 34 strings, and I honestly just can’t wait. In the meantime I am watching all the videos on your channel 😂 Thank you so much for sharing so many useful lessons. Xxx

      @@britishfiredemon I have ordered a Harpsicle, the Fullsicle. They offer packages and I chose the therapy package. I chose the walnut vs the cherry... one of the other harpists had said she thinks the walnut harpsicle sounds warmer. Since you probably live in GB, I will share with you that my total expense is $1820.00.
      that is for fully levered harpsicle/fullsicle, the deluxe bag, 3 song books, harp cleaning kit, chromatic tuner, pro pickup installed, display stand, upgraded bass strings set installed, and $65.00 shipping. It will take 8 weeks to build.
      Currently Lewis Creek harps orders are taking 6-7 months.
      I did want a used harp, and found a Dusty Springs, but it was gone before I got back with them (2 days!).

    That was fun to watch. I was hoping she’d close her mouth and not wiggle her tongue around and she finally did! But that was very cool. I’m just learning Lyre and it is nearly impossible to find music. I got a few harp pieces and books but when I am working on 16 strings it can get so frustrating. Or just finding music in the key of C! And everything has bass clef when my instrument doesn’t go that low.

      I am now at the point where I practice about an hour each day but that was not always the case. It's now about the amount of time that you spend but how you spend the time. If you can practice the parts or the technique you're having trouble with for just ten minutes, you can improve.
