- I wanted to add something to make the prop have more detail and dimension. Added vines growing from the top of the head down through the body and into the feet. Used foam pipe insulation - twisted it and duct taped it to hold the twist. Painted it black, added spray foam to build up and then painted with orange, red, and brown. Then added leaves and stalks for more texture. The vines do add some resistance to the open and closing so I ended up using rubber bands as part of the mechanism to pull it back and stay closed - ( as always - VERY LOW TECH approach!!!) Seems to be working well. So that's it for now. Any questions let me know.
