  • Video showing how I modified the skull I'm using for the prop. Bought the skull at consumercrafts.com. Great item for the price. It is right around 17" which is what I need to fit inside the pumpkin. I cut out the jaw, used some bondo to build up the jawline and modified it with masking tape and paint. Paint it all black to start then brush on white, final coat of stain if you want to darken white - finish with clear poly. The eyeballs I got on Amazon. 1.75" in diameter. came out looking pretty good.

I got the exact same prop in the post-H'ween sales last year and it had the exact same issue on the jawline, which had already cracked in the store (I want to say Big Lots or something similar?) so I wound up getting a super-discounted prop ... maybe $6? $0.40 worth of masking tape and some white paint fixed it in 10 mins. It's a bigger than average skull and a nice addition to the creepy prop menagerie.

They made skulls with that much detail back in 2000

Sorry for the delay - I haven't been checking the channel much lately. I purchased the skull at a site call - Consumer Crafts.com - I just checked and it's on sale for $15. It's the hanging skull 12.5" x 17.25".
