- latest video on the prop build. Shows the lights and sound FX control using the rocker light switch. It ended up being a real easy, low tech way to control the FX. I plan on using it on my other props.
The prop works well considering I didn't have a design at the start. One thing I forgot to mention - you can see rubber bands attached to the arms on the front and back. I put them there to make the arms swing faster - fully open or fully closed. Works well.
Last thing to work on is slowing down the motor. Right now the wiper motor stalls at around 10 RPM using the speed controller. I'd like to prop moving right around 5-6 RPMs. I'm going to lower to voltage power supply and see if that's any help. I may end up with a different motor. I don't like the reindeer motors since they have plastic gears and I've seen them strip out easily and then they're done. Will search for metal geared motor.
Overall, everything is working well. Next video should be the props fully completed. Happy Halloween! - Хобби
Coming along great, and I can definitely see copies of this in the future. Appreciate the build videos you do each year.
This is so awesome! You've really gave me some inspiration!
Love it , wish I could make one .its awesome!!!!👍😀
That looks awesome great 👍 job
Very, very cool! In lieu of a mechanical audio system, you could opt for powered speakers, like those on a PC, then switch the power on and off to them while leaving your audio source playing continuously (a cheap CD player or MP3 player or whatever.) I really like the strobe effect on the skull. This is really inventive!
good idea with the powered speakers vs. the audio source. Only thing I have found is with all the various soundtracks I have going - the computer powered speakers didn't have enough volume. But still will keep you idea in mind since I was using pretty cheap speakers before and can keep a look out for a better pair.
VERY cool!
That's incredible
thats thing is Badass !! HFL!!
