    I did it again! I bought junk that doesn't run and drug it home. This time around we have a 1980 Chevy C10 short bed step side. I do love my square body trucks. It's a straight 6 with an automatic transmission that the former owner really didn't know anything about. He was planning to use it as a parts truck for another project he had but sold. Lets see if it will start. Will it run? Will it start? Will it drive? Have a look and see what we find!

    Love the square body almost as much as the 67 to 72 body

      My very first truck was a 74 K10 so I have a soft spot for them. I do love the 67-72 models as well. They show up here on the regular. 🤣

    Great project truck. I would love to see a 10 part series on putting her on the road on a budget. 350 swap, spray can paint, get all systems functioning. Make it a nice 50 footer. Ratty doesn't mean its less fun to drive. Congrats on 4k subscribers

      I was actually thinking of doing something along those lines on that one. Not sure I could go so extreme to have rattle can paint, but could definitely budget build it. Lol. Thanks for watching we appreciate the support!

    I have one of these trucks that doesn't have holes in the floor haha. It's half the reason I bought my c20, the other half is cause it's got a 4 speed Muncie sm465, everyone seems to hate those transmissions but I love them.

    • @MyLegacyGarage
      @MyLegacyGarage  2 года назад +1

      @@MyLegacyGarage Yeah this truck is straaangely rust free, it's like a truck most people would've looked at 20 years ago and said "That's a piece of junk", now it's "Holy crap, this squarebody has almost no rust!". I just threw out a video showing that 'cause so many people call me out about how I'm lying about how clean the truck is rust wise.
      Anyway, cool find with the step side, shame she's rotten!

    I subscribed after watching your channel for the first time (a year ago) and enjoy the videos. Keep it up. 4 K is respectable and you are in a category with some huge talents. But talent won't get you very far without some serious luck. Like finding the holy grail of abandoned neglected forgotten mind-blowing american muscle. You must scour the country-side and leave no stone un-turned, even craig's list till you find your Independence.

    Nice save. The step side GM trucks have to be my favorites. I'm thinking all the oil leaking down got into the starter and helped to cook it. I've seen it happen on a few 4.0L Jeeps from the oil filter adapter o-ring. After a while, they just begin to bog down, which seems to be opposite of what you'd expect to happen.

    You ever consider working on a truck that’s not your just for content for your channel? I may be picking up a numbers matching 1971 C20. 350 4 speed. Step side. One owner. Last registered in 2002 and parked in a bush in a yard in 2008 and forgotten about. Located in Northern VA. I have a RUclips channel as well.

      I've been asked to do quite a bit of work on vehicles that are not mine and I always decline. It's not for lack of willingness really, more for lack of time. Whatever time I can get to work on stuff I like to work on my own. That sounds like a sweet ride. What's your channel name? I'll check it out.
