Today we are starting a father and son project by resurrecting two Chevy square body short bed trucks so we can tear them down and start collection good parts for the restoration. My son is very excited about having his very own vehicle to work on and these trucks are what he picked from the boneyard to restore. This will be a long term project as time and funding allow with normal content in-between. Let us know what you think and enjoy the video!

That’s cool that AJ is getting involved in this project he’ll learn a lot and have good appreciation for it and have a cool truck to boot😁😁👍👍
I hope he still feels that way halfway through. Kids these days don't have much of an attention span. Square bodies are a good starter project. Easy to work on and easy to get parts for. Not to mention they are pretty awesome. Thanks for watching!
AJ, looks like you and your Dad have your work cut out for you. Looking forward to more videos and the progress you make!
It'll be a marathon for sure. Hope we're up for it. Thanks for watching!
Excellent video Chad :) , AJ :) looking forward more videos on this truck , plus get all fix up and drive on to!
Thanks for watching as always! More to come for sure
Bout time oh thats frames fine on the 1st one lol
It's a Latin American banana frame. Very rare. 🤣
All c10 s restorable they make everything today
Except frames. 🤣 The step side is pretty pooched but I think I can get a frame shop to straighten it out. I'll hang onto that for another build someday. Thanks for watching!
@@MyLegacyGarage I tried to leave a couple Links of some companies that have frames new and with suspension stew if you want to go that route but I guess it won't let me do it
@@jamesthev5607 RUclips is rough like that. 🤣 Didn't know you could buy stock frames. I bet they are priced like they are solid gold too
Sucks about the frame on the step side, good thing you had plan b on hand though. I need to see more of that 64!
I think that frame could be fixed but that's a future project. Plan B for now is fine. That Biscayne is roached BAD! It's literally rusted through on every panel including the roof. Sat in the woods for a good 40 years. We'll do a will it start eventually, probably. 🤣
Long time no see
Yeah it's been over a month since the last video. Hard to find time now that the world has gotten back to normal with kids sports and all. Making an effort though. Appreciate ya stopping by and watching. Thanks!
I didn't think your son hit the truck hard enough to bend the frame . Lol
Right! That'll teach me to look closer when I buy crap. It was cheap by today's standards so I guess I got what I paid for. Thanks for watching!
Good to see you buddy
Thanks for stopping by and watching. We appreciate it!
@@MyLegacyGarage I am glad you are back! You need to drop that thing down
@@gmray7301 my kid wants to lift it. I explained that if he lifted a C10 he'd be made fun of without mercy at school and also by me. 🤣
@@MyLegacyGarage it needs to be low!
@@gmray7301 agreed! 🤣
I mean you can build a C10 out of new sheet metal nowadays... Kinda waiting for someone to do that, really. Prices on these things, it might be cheaper to buy one just for the frame and VIN. "Oh yeah this totally isn't an entirely replacement sheet metal truck!".
With sheet metal prices these days it'd cost as much as a new truck. 🤣 This one is more solid than I originally thought. It came from Tennessee as I recall. Definitely wasn't from the north east!
@@MyLegacyGarage Ah that's good, the '83 D150 I've got now was originally from New Jersey, but came down here to VA sometime in the 1990's, and also spent time in Florida, so it's got Florida paint burn and dash cracking, Virginia moss, and really no rust.
@@DeadReckon I dream of rustless vehicles. 🤣
@@MyLegacyGarage hahahah. Oh trust me man, even with no title, this 83 Dodge was just too good to pass up for 1500, like I said, 3 speed manual with OD, manual steering, slant 6, base model so no stupid plastic trim to fall off, AND a short bed! Virginia has an abandoned vehicle title process for residents that either goes really smooth or ends up with you arguing with someone who "owns" your abandoned vehicle. Only bad part is that I ended up paying like 136 in taxes cause of the "average book value", rather than the usual 75 bucks I'd pay on something like this, and the 40 dollar vehicle record fee, still, it's a factory stick, and I like me a straight drive!
@@DeadReckon I only paid $300 for the Ford with a title so I guess that's the rust discount? 🤣 I can't afford to buy rust free junk.
