    Is it EA or the state officials blocking the development? Maybe the state officials are under pressure from the coal industry to restrict the development of a network of CCS chargers?

    This is your best video yet Adam.
    Really well done and very pointed.
    I would encourage you to send this video to both EA and EVgo.
    And as others have commented, you should also challenge your state legislature to help.

      Yeah, I was wondering how engage WV state legislature is in developing an EV infrastructure in the state. Unfortunately we all know that politics do play a role in EV acceptance in the country. EA and the other big name charging companies really need to focus installation on the secondary and rural roads in many states, especially in the west. We are left with companies such as EVconnect who don’t seem to have the capacity/willingness(?) to regularly maintain their units for months.

    At this moment, the state of WV is to blame. They are sitting on millions of dollars of NEVI funds to deploy EV chargers in the state. EA and other companies are waiting on WV to release their RFP so they can bid on the work. WVDOT has pushed back again and again their deadline to release the RFP.

I used to drive about 8-10k when I had my Mercedes SL bc my job is 100% remote. But since getting my FOO in mid December, as of now I’m at 8400 miles 🙈, so that KBB market research for me is spot on! We don’t need DCFC chargers where there are EVs. We need them between places with EVs. Otherwise how the heck are we going to get across those zones?

    • @Aslash304
      @Aslash304  Месяц назад

      Great question. I feel like this is the part the enforcement of the judgement and the analysis of where the stations need to be that lacked thought.

  • @edouglasroche
    @edouglasroche Месяц назад +1

    Oh wow, only 2 Telsa super chargers in a large portion of the state as well.
    Anouther EV hurdle that scares me as well. Is lack of power. We need about 35% more power to charge 100% EVs. And also estimates are a bit harder but we also need a lot more electricity for computing power particularly for AI.10% increase by 2030 is a common estimate. Which would be higher than EVs at that time. So naturally EVs will be blamed for rising electricity price and worse reliability.
    We have to rely of the speed of the government to address this issue. So it won’t even start to be addressed until it is a full blown crisis.
    The one sort of saving grace will be solar and batteries becoming much cheaper which will take large number of houses in sun rich states off the grid particularly the less regulated states. But Washington DC north, solar provides 20% or less winter power compared to summer so this will not save a majority of the country.

    Totally agree. As a punitive measure, this has failed spectacularly. The VW group should have been forced to install a certain percentage of chargers in economically disadvantaged areas, among other things (ahem, reliability). The NEVI program is doing a better job at ensuring fairness in this market space, but as we've seen it's a slow roll to get there.

    • @Aslash304
      @Aslash304  Месяц назад +1

      The speed is the disappointment with the NEVI funding. The fact that each state gets funding is great. Electrify America says right on their website that “high volume EV” areas are the focus. We will never have the population for that. Thanks a lot for the feedback

  • @johnklaman9548
    @johnklaman9548 Месяц назад +1

    Good information as to why the EV sales are decreasing. It is a part of the infrastructure Law to incentivize the private investment for EV charging stations across the United States. Pete Buttigieg as the Secretary of Transportation has to do a better job. There has to be strategic zoning implementation. I suggest a letter/email to our senators and representatives.
