Appreciate all the coverage of the Fisker Ocean. I'm not blind to any of the negatives or downsides of this journey, the money "lost", etc. I'm 9 months and 17k miles in, I've experienced relatively few issues with mine and have accepted the loss in value/depreciation as sunken costs that will keep me driving this thing until I no longer can. The good news is - I LOVE the car. Like, truly do. So - I don't feel as cheated as some might and enjoy every ride.

Adam, unfortunately Fisker is not alone in the EV SPAC/ next Tesla stock space. All these companies shouldn’t have been allowed to go public. Fisker is different in that they arguably did more harm by actually making cars, unlike Arrival, Canoo, Lordstown, and at least a few others

I have a FOO, and I've apparently been lucky so far. Mine has worked well. Had one key fob incident prior to 2.0, but otherwise it is my daily driver without issues. I'm certainly worried about when issues will arise and no one to help me. When I purchased it, I was planning on keeping it for a minimum of 5 years, so I wasn't too concerned about initial equity loss. My biggest concerns is the loss gap if it breaks, or it turning into a brick if the key fob breaks. I knew the gamble going into this, and I'm going to play out my hand rather than fold. Maybe it will hold some value in the collector market if I can keep it running. Will continue to enjoy the drive, which has been good, while I can. YOLO.

My 2013 Chrysler 300 had a key fob that I never needed because the doors unlocked when I touched the door handle. It sat in my purse unless I needed my house or office keys. It’s not rocket science! And when I back out of my garage/driveway, the 300 sensed a car coming down the street. This giant paperweight doesn’t even do that! Ugh….

I'm so sorry for your loss and every Fisker owner out there. I drank the kool-aid and bought stock way back when. I made a deposit pretty early on. Thankfully I only lost $1000 but I so wanted them to succeed and loved the car and the idea of the company in the early days. However, over time, I got worried about all the hype and buzz words. Your point about how Fisker hurting the EV industry is what really bothers me the most. Now everyone can point at them and say "SEE, EVs and doomed and destined to fail". Really burns me up. Got my MCO and registration in 3 days. No phantom drain or app issues. Car has driven and performed flawlessly for a few thousand miles so far (knock on wood). I definitely feel like they did a really good job on QC on the "second wave" of vehicles they released more recently. Thanks for preparing this video. I was considering picking up an Ocean Extreme now that they are $38K, but this video convinced me that it would probably turn into a $38K brick in a few years. Too bad, it's so much nicer looking from the outside than the competitors and currently one of the few with the operable back windows. I thank you for taking a chance, something we all do with new car companies (gas or electric), and sharing your experience and your pain for the benefit of others. The Ocean does have a great design, I was hoping some car MFR would recognize this and buy them out (Ford?), but it's unfinished software is a deal breaker and cars like Fisker/Tesla/Rivian are so software dependent, losing OAT updates and support is a very big deal. I have my deposit in for a Rivian R2, the closest match to the Ocean, and have fingers crossed for them figuring out how to scale up like Tesla did.

After 7 months, I finally got the title to my FOO. I've sold all my stock for pennies and am considering selling the car (now that I finally can). I'm hopeful there may be a v4 software to enable the ADAS I paid handsomely for and maybe make it the car I thought I was buying (minus the warranty, parts, support, etc.) I think if I sold it, I'd just buy a used GV60 which means I probably couldn't trade this, and wouldn't want to sell privately for the same reason you didn't. I knew even before the s__t started to hit the fan, that I really was not thrilled with those stupid taco trays, the solar roof which I thought wouldn't amount to much or that horrible cheap plastic "storage" area under the seats but I thought, if we did get it, that I could "overlook" it...nah...I would've have not like that stuff at all if we got that car! After wrecking my car by downloading the wrong software update of 2.0, I will say that they flew someone over to me from TN, fixed the car, got the right version loaded and it works flawlessly now. And because I work from home, and we have an ICE still for longer trips, I'm not in a position where our lives depend on this EV. So, I will definitely learn from this experience and journey, but for me, if I need to, I can run out and buy another car today. But won't, I've decided to see this til the end. I sold my Ocean to CarMax based on an offer they gave me the day before the massive reduction in price was announced. I took a massive loss. It took a lot to get me to this point, but I was using the Ocean as my primary car, I have three kids, was having constant range anxiety, insurance was expensive and hard to find, was having countless problems with the car, and I was convinced the company was going under and the car would eventually become unusable. Thanks for the information. However, I worked as a mechanic for a couple of years and I can tell you firsthand that almost all vehicles are designed to fail. They have parts that are basically built from cardboard. In either case the Fisker Ocean One has decent quality parts. I'm aware everyone complained about the vent fans, however, I can tell the fans are not the problem; it's the small levers that come with the fan. In either case, I would rather have a car that can be fixed with software than an automobile that is built with a lot of moving crappy parts.
Also the charger works. So it's not the Fisker Ocean that is the issue. The problem is that the power transmitter is weak. I would bet that the power transmitter is facedown. It's a common issue i've seen in a lot of vehicle that offers the wireless charging.
I know this very reliable car brand that had a manufacturing factory that aligned all the piston rings and caused oil to go into the cylinder. The point i'm saying is that mistakes are going to be made; when manufacturing goes into mass production. Trust me All vehicles on the road today have issues. We simply ignore them because we don't see the immediate issue until it finally breaks. However I do agree with you about the company going bankrupt. However videos like this that focus only on the negative is what is going to definitely cause Fisker brand to go bankrupt.
Oh I also forgot to ask. Have you ever driven a stick shift? Cause when you are on a hill you have to press the brakes, to prevent the vehicle from rolling. back when you are on a hill. Magnetic motors work in a similar way, when no power is applied to the coil ti will go into a neutral state.

Wait ‘till they file for voluntary dissolution. They have no assets(apparently) no revenue, no access to capital, and unable to engage in any kind of takeover or sale of the company. The subsidiary filed for creditor protection, while the parent obtained debtor-in-possession financing. The corporate third party is very tolerant of risk, and doesn’t seem to care about the prospect of a bankruptcy filing.
If a private entity was created to take on the ownership of the Austrian subsidiary’s balance sheet(which isn’t public) that would make sense. They could do that if the Austrian subsidiary was an unconsolidated subsidiary. This would also explain why the accumulated deficit doesn’t appear. A change of auditor means that a disposition will happen, despite the 10-K prohibiting transactions.

Hello Adam. Been watching and commenting for a good while now.
Out of curiosity, what do you think it was that had people (like myself) that saw all of the things you have recently realized about Fisker, years ago. Everything you covered in the video is not new. Every single point and realization made here has been said time and time again for years (all of it, even the part of the Ocean literally being a different variation of the Arc Fox has been known, and pointed out for 3 years now). Yet so many failed to, or refused to believe it or even hear it. Banning, silencing, and abuses were made regularly by this community, and its "members" for years. I watched your channel because you have been the sole voice of reason and honesty.
So what was it that made you see the "light"? Was there a specific moment? Or perhaps it was when you got the car yourself and were introduced to the truth? I am genuinely curious what made you change your feelings and opinions of Fisker.

Hey Adam! Nice job. I feel the same way. I never know if my wife, daughter, or I will have an issue driving, I've turned off all the audio alarms and left visual only, but it still gives audio alarms (phantom, I might add). I'm in so deep. The wife says we have to wait because someone will buy the company. I explained, but she believes they (Fisker and the Loan Shark) can't do that. Connie's point about buying (even from a startup) should come with basic safety, and I feel the Ocean "says" it does, but I don't always feel safe in it. I won't go on b/c you covered it here in your summary video. Curious, I looked up my FOE value on KBB about a month ago. I put in my VIN, and it says I cannot find it. I wish Ocean owners could get a lawsuit and win, but in the end (as one of you and your viewers pointed out), there's no money.
Okay, let me put my plate number in. Nope, still couldn't find it. Then, I thought, let me see if I can trade it in for a Model Y (not that I want one for personal reasons). Anyway, fast forward almost 2 weeks, and they emailed me. I'll paraphrase, "Due to the current Fisker financial situation, we cannot accept your Fisker Ocean as a trade-in." Therefore, I'm looking for a way to get out of this with the least negative impact and still get a reliable EV. So, bring on your next video!

I can't imagine being in Arizona where it will hit over 110 and not able to drive the Ocean until fall and that's IF Fisker services to even be able to get parts and service. AND Roadside Assistance. Some are downplaying this saying get AAA. Fisker was almost too generous with towing, which AAA does, but a car rental, lodging for those stuck in nowhere's land, warranty service (yeah right) and shipping the Ocean back to you repaired. This is per contract and now it's a breach of contract, fraud, and disrespectful. Add those 2 together and I almost feel like using the F word when I say "Oh ______ NO. Absolutely NOT!!!!! Absolutely I’m in for a lawsuit! So depressing to acknowledge we’ve made a mistake. For me, it’s the only car I have. So if there’s a problem I’m calling Hertz to pick up a rental?? Infuriating…. Or quit making payments, let Chase (aka Fisker Financial) repossess it? And take the hit on my credit? Infuriating. I still have the random warnings: lane assist not available, some brake warning, my charge port door is open (it’s NOT). I didn’t rely on any of those systems, so I guess I’m not missing anything, but I paid for them!! One day it takes 4 clicks to unlock the car, the next day it opens with the first click! One thing I discovered recently - my Ocean flipped into Park while I was driving, but I realized it was when I sat up to adjust my jacket and my butt came off the seat for a second. I guess it sensed that I had jumped out the window?? At 30 mph!! Funny, not funny. I’m so embarrassed that I took a chance on Fisker, believing that he learned from the Karma experience and wouldn’t let that happen again, but it did. I too received an email stating that the ‘trial period’ for certain items will expire in Dec. But like you I paid for the winter pkg!! There was a big space between the first few items and the winter pkg items; I’d like to think that it was a major typo and it’s missing the heading - ‘these are the items you’ve paid for and we hope you continue to enjoy them’. Ugh… I have a hard time even saying/typing that with a straight face! And anyway, who’s going to be working there in Dec to turn those items off? LOL. Don’t get me wrong, I still love to drive it. But do I have the nerve to take a trip in it? Not sure…. Thank you for all you’ve done, Adam, I really appreciate it!

I subscribed recently because I stumbled upon the story of the Fisker via Consumer Reports discussing Fisker, and your videos examining the ownership of the car as a consumer but also discussing and exploring the behind the scenes, interviewing dealers, reviewing finance documents, arguing against narratives that denied the reality, like that the one guy's "unfair" negative review killed Fisker and it's all his fault.
You should be proud of the effort you put into covering this situation, and I look forward to what you have in the future.
I'm not a Fisker owner, but I'm someone who can't stand the scams and garbage designs and decision making happening in the EV space right now.

@Aslash304 we'll likely never be able to power the current battery technology within any reasonable timeframe with permanently placed solar panels. Especially not one of this size. That was always a cool, but practically useless gimmick. However I like teasing ICE owners when I ask them how many miles to the gallon does your car put back in the tank when it's parked?
And when you consider average driving of less than 30miles per day, adding 3 miles just from the sun ain't bad at all.

Feel you. My Ocean One (in my case, one of the very first vehicles ever delivered) is the worst investment I've ever made. I was ready to return the car 2 weeks after delivery (when the main battery completely collapsed and had to be replaced). Fisker's SVP Marketing, Sales, and Service (Europe), convinced me over numerous phone calls not to do it. He would "personally ensure that all issues will be resolved". Hahaha... good one. So let's face it: we are basically paying some sort of "dumb tax" here, not just for that brick on wheels that lost 50% of it's value over just a few weeks or months but additionally in form of the loss in share value. Basically, we all fell for this serial con man. We should have realized that his strategy to make his obviously incompetent wife COO and CFO was just helpful to avoid any transparency. Could we take legal action against him? Probably not. And even if we could: The "Billionaire power couple" has secured their assets and there is nothing left for all the defrauded customers and business partners.

Hello Adam, I have had my Fisker Ocean for a month now and I put in 1000 miles on it so far. I understand your frustration as an owner BUT 12 years ago Tesla had tons of problems when starting out. Even with the Cybertruck that came out they have tons of issues. I think Fisker will (might) survive this storm since they have a great product that needs work or to say they released it too soon. I got my car with 2.0 Software and it drives great and the only issue I have is the roll back but I used to drive manual cars other than that it's a great car for ME. I'm NOT selling it and I'm keeping it until newer software comes out. I wish you luck on your next EV and I think your model Y is what you need to keep driving at the moment.

I paid £61,000 in full for the vehicle and I can't see anything coming back from that either. It took two years to save for it (Put down a deposit 2 years ago) and aside from that, I also lost all the equity from an Audi A6 Quattro which, with hindsight, was a totally dumb thing to have done.
