@@OCPARKWAY Maybe not. New England already beat two teams that have better athletes, they're smarter and don't make a lot of mistakes. You have to beat them by beating smarter. Philly did it last year.
Nothing was complicated about this horrible referee job with NO vs LA... Absolutely the worst, most obvious missed call I have ever seen... looked like a submarine hitting a popsicle stand. Didn't even pretend to play the ball.
All of that being said, if Ford doesn't line up off sides the chiefs get the ball back and run the clock out. That pats had the ball more but still were in a position to lose the game. Mental errors cost the chiefs the game.
The pats dominated and when they called the PI on Jackson the and the Chiefs turned the ball over game would’ve been over Pats had the ball in KC territory.
The Patriots are better. They played sloppily and still won despite turning the ball over 3 times. Look at the TOP and yardage. Game might've been a blowout if Brady didn't throw that momentum changing endzone pick. Not to mention Travis Kelces fumble got cancelled because of a penalty, and the Patriots DB dropped an INT that would've sealed it in regulation.
The bottom line is that the Patriots for the last 2 decades ( with exception of 2 seasons) have and still are putting a championship level team on the gridiron every years. When you are in or around the Championship game year in and year out you are bound to be in a postion to win it all, including 5 Super Bowls. Yes, the numb nut lined up offsides. But if the Pats didnt earn the right to be there another team would have reaped the benefits. A few years ago Malcom Butler made a goal line interception that sealed a Pats victory. Then 2 years later Brady orchastrated the greatest come back in Super Bowl history. None of this would have happened if they didnt get there. The Patriots have owned the NFL for 2 decades just like Tom Landrys Cowboys owned the NFC in the 1970's. The Cowboys lingered around the Championship enough that they managed to win 2 SuperBowls. The Chiefs lost the game because the Patriots are a very good team and were bound to go to the Super Bowl again. The Pats may very well win # 6 with Brady against the Rams.
@@OCPARKWAY Oh they did? Pretty sure the defense came up with a huge interception in the redzone which took off +7 from the pats... also a huge 4th down stop when the pats could've kicked a FG but went for it instead... and then the defense also came up with an interception off of edleman while already in patriots territory... and Mahomes couldn't even capitalize on that either. and who failed Mahomes in the first HALF? when ZERO points were put on the board, and were NEGATIVE yards for most of the first HALF... Ending up with 37 total offensive yards in TWO QUARTERS for mahomes? Whose fault was that? surely not Mahomes! nooo way! Did you even watch the game? do you not understand how football works??
@@LucasSChiefsLightning No. because of redzone interception, and missed 4th down conversion when the pats shouldve just kicked the FG.... thats +10 more points on the board and game does not go to OT. So NO. NOT because of Mahomes. but because of 2 major mistakes by pats... and not even counting edlemen interception. Patriots gave chiefs several opportunities to win this game, and they STILL couldn't. Lets be realistic here buddy, patriots almost beat themselves.
@@BananerRepublic I never said Mahomes was perfect but the Chiefs was bad this season especially against the run but I have a trivia question for you... What's the combined record for Brady, Peyton Manning and Brees when their team scores 40 or more points? I wasn't just talking about one game buy the entire season
The role of the referees is to ensure a fair contest within the rules of the game. Both crews failed miserably yesterday. Yes, it's true both the Chiefs and Saints had opportunities to win despite below average officiating and failed to get it done, but as a fan of the game itself it taints the outcome. The no call in the Saints game is inexcusable and indefensible. It was a blatant PI and a hit to the helmet and it altered the outcome of the game. The fans deserve better.
It's like the strike zone in baseball. Once the officials set the pattern if the game is going to be tight or loose, they have to stick to it because the players make their adjustments. The Rams defense saw how many pass interferences were not being called against the Saints. And there was plenty. But, like Cowherd said, just because it was the one that was near the end of the game that was the important one? They all add up, beginning or end. There was also a face masking against Goff that was ignored by the refs that were very costly because it happened at what seemed like the Rams last possession. As it turned out it wasn't, but it sure seemed like it at the time. Does that one count because it should have been their game-winning drive?
So was the blown call on the face mask on Geoff on the goal line. Rams get 4 new down to eat clock and if they score a TD go up by 4. Saints get the ball back with far less time and needing score a TD not a FG.
Just like the hands to the face on Brees on the int in OT. Arguments are made for both. The no call was magnitudes worse than any of the other no calls.
When the Rams didn't get their call, I just assumed Saints wouldn't get the next call they should have. Even thought maybe a Rams player will blatantly commit a penalty thinking they'll get one back lol. The pass interference that wasn't called was so obvious and blatant, ofc it should have been called. But we can talk about a lot of "what ifs." If the Rams got their call and scored, would the Saints really have done the exact same thing and been in exactly the same spot? Maybe, maybe not. They still had a chance to seal the game and they failed.
@@williamhendriks1982 listen to what he said. If we got the first and scored. Would the saints play the drive with the plays they made and would they have been in the same situation? Highley doubted it. Saints still had a chance to stop the Rams and FG and failed. Ball first in OT and failed. I see the salt in drew because he had a shot and failed. Cam Jordan had a shot and failed. For drew to expect to win and go to a SB off of a ref calls shows how much of an overrated QB he his. I would put brett farve higher then brees. Favre actually has more clutch moments then drew
They already gave them a pass interference earlier in that drive they didn’t call(against Ted Ginn). Those two plays there I thought I was the wash because that Jared Goff “penalty” wasn’t nearly as blatant as that PI call down the field. Not nearly. And for all of you guys saying the saints weren’t guaranteed to score after the penalty I retort that the rams weren’t guaranteed to score a touchdown either. It would’ve done the same thing for us and that was to make it easier to do what you think was possible.
Calls get whiffed all the time, that's understandable and even excusable. But when it's as egregious as that missed PI call, that's just outright negligent, and people have every reason to be upset
There's no way they can say one of the officials didn't see the foul. And refs throw flags minutes after a play when they have a chance to think about it all the time. So yeah, this was unacceptable.
Not only that, but no one seems to be talking about the fact that a Rams player shoved his hands in Drew's facemask. That was the throw when drew threw that interception... No call on an obvious penalty there too
@@ThatDude11115 The inconsistency is what's infuriating. Of course they can't call every foul but the arbitrary nature of what they choose to allow and what they let slide creates an air of unfairness.
Playoff W-L record when throwing more INT's than TD's since 2001 (min. 33 attempts): Tom Brady: 5-4 (55.6%) Every other QB combined: 4-50 (7.4%) Luckiest QB of all time?
@@kareemhailey9585 If you look at the replay, Saints' wide receiver Mike Thomas initiates contact and runs into LA Rams safety John Johnson. Also, the safety is playing/facing the ball (not with his back turned away from the ball). Retired referee Mike Pereira explained this as to why there was no PI call in OT.
@@1230403 what are you on about? the saints literally win the game if that call is made. you're giving the rams the benefit of the doubt that they get a TD on a face mask call? okay. i say the saints still go down the field and get to the 15 yard line, where a PI still isn't called and the have just one down to win the game? fine, now instead of the call costing them a win that that very moment. it forces them to lose the game instead. that kind of penalty HAS to be made and just proves why those sorts of calls need to be reviewable.
So what you're saying is patroits played a perfect game and chiefs did nothing right. Yet they were literally a penalty away from going to the super bowl. That's not very encouraging for the patroits going into the Super Bowl
@@youngfuturesupreme3901 yeah but that's not what I'm saying. Chiefs were penalty away from the super bowl despite him claiming they didn't even play well and the patroits playing great. Neither the Rams or Saints played that great imo
Jordan Dean man u know colin dont watch the games if colin was only talking about the first half he would be right but he didnt say that so we have assume he talking bout the chiefs didnt do anything the whole game which aint true they were great in the 2nd half
as an eagles fan the more i think about it the more honored and humble i am and almost feel lucky in an unusual way that we were able to beat NE in the super bowl last year.... very special.
Colin, all you’re doing is defending the fact that you picked the two teams that won. If you would have picked the Saints and Chiefs you’d be complaining about the missed call and Dee Ford’s blunder
Monster i ain’t salty dude it didn’t happen to my team I’m a Chargers fan....just pointing out Colin would be complaining about that call if he picked the Saints instead of the Rams. I was rooting for the Rams anyway
Ya what about goffs facemask call on the 2 witch would be rams touchdown..... be 24 20 rams oh wait no ones talking about that oh wait what if that Db just turn and spotted the ball pick six 31 20 game over oh wait you guys played like trash and cry about it lol if anything rams got robbed and you got beat at home lol oh wait why didnt Sean Payton run ball three times so rams have no time outs they get ball back with 30s God cry babies rams got robbed
@@gabebriggs6031 If the ref throws a flag in both instances, i.e.for a face mask against the Saints when the Rams were close to the goal line there then maybe the Rams score the TD (as they would set up at one or two yard line but also a similar probability that the Saints would score the TD (since we're having the ref throw flags for everything then we'll have him call the helmet-to-helmet or hitting the defenseless receiver, as well) that would be the game - winner. Moreover, if these types of calls that are related to player safety, as the league is supposedly emphasizing, really are being called, again, given all of the concern about player safety, etc. that the league claims that it has, then mighty interesting that yesterday with a player being knocked out with a concussion (Josh Hill) and the hit that Robey-Coleman made on Tommy Lee Lewis there were no fouls for helmet-to-helmet contact.
Mahomes is the TRUTH. He only had 20 minutes of possession and put up # in no time. Statistically speaking, he had a way higher QB rating than Tom Brady but Brady's fanboys will always find a way to say BRADY is always better than his counterparts.
Yeah KC did not do what they planned to do and still almost won the game...you act as if they were blown out...if they won the toss in OT they probably win.
Yeah focus on the one call that game in the Pats favor, when refs tried so hard especially 4th Q to give Chiefs the W. So much PI and helmet to helmet not called on the Chiefs, Gronk was basically a human jungle gym
"They couldn't do anything they prepared to do" and if it weren't for a stupid off sides they would have WON! CC shot his entire argument...if KC did nothing well and almost won, then that says it ALL!!! end of story...
And how do you know that if Dee Ford didn't line up offsides, that the extra second it would've taken him to get to Brady wouldn't have allowed Tom to have made a lower throw thus avoiding the deflection and pick?
well seeing how the cheifs blew every one out all year.Couldnt even stay on field against pats.their studs had no impact.Theu were prepared.just out everythinged.
It’s a retirement game for Brady he going out the same way he came in against the Rams beating the Rams started his legacy and he will now out doing the same thing
The refs not only robbed the Saints of a Superbowl appearance but they also made the NFL look like a complete joke as 3 of them watched a blatant PI with contact to the head of a defenseless receiver. You can say it was anything else but the fact is that if they make the right call, game is over and the Saints win
This take is very biased. Yes every game has missed calls. That doesn’t mean some missed calls are not more important than others. Face masks such as the one missed are missed all the time, just like holding on linemen are missed all the time. But a blatant pass interference and helmet to helmet missed call is rarely ever seen to this degree especially in that type of moment. You need to put into the factor the situation and the timing of the missed call. A missed call in the first quarter isn’t as important as a missed call in the last two minutes of a game.
Championship games are always close for the record, but that blown no call, give me a break, it was something that decided the game. Rams in by fault not play.
Collin picked the rams? That’s all you need to know why he’s not making excuses for the blown call. I’ve been defending the blown call saying saints didn’t deserve it cause they missed a face mask the last drive that changes the circumstances if rams have a 4 point lead but this dudes just a clown. Any time one of his picks flops or a team he likes flops he comes out of the woodwork with excuses. He’s managed to make excuses for Lebron losing in the finals 6 times
The day I thought the patriots were the best team in the afc is when they beat the chiefs 43-40 that game they way they handled themselves and Mahomes was when I realized they are going to the super bowl again
Here’s what everyone is forgetting about the Rams facemask call, if you assume that is called and the PI is called as well then the Saints win that game. But neither was called and Saints lost. It always goes back to refs screwing the Saints over no matter how you look at it
The rams scored on most of the drives facemask were not called. So it wouldn't have changed much, but with 1:41 on the clock and your opponent has only one timeout. Being 1st and goal with a chip shot field goal to win a game literally killed by two missed call Pi and helmet to helmet.
If the Rams score a touchdown after that facemask that changes what happens. They probably play their defense different because they know the saints will have to score a touchdown
Outside of the blown pass interference call, there was also the Hitting of a Defenseless Player. Like in college that (Targeting) should be able to be a booth call as well as on the field.
Why even have refs on the field late in the game if the game could've been decided earlier? After all, according to Colin, the game doesn't hinge on the officiating of one play. Cmon man, don't be blind to the no-call - it had a direct impact as to which team goes to the SB and which team stays home.
So instead of saying it was a bad call u make every excuse to legitimize the miss call cause the team u wanted to win won. I can understand miss calls cause a ref was out of position it happens this call was right in front of him and the backjudge who even went over to the other ref to converse after the play and there was no call hmmmm. O wait player safety isnt that big either cause the rams got a helmet to helmet earlier in the game that knocked a player out with a concussion and the refs made that player leave the field and no flag there either hmmmm
Brady continues to BLATANTLY prove that HE is the reason for the Pats success...How many TIMES does Brady have to BAIL out Belichicks so called Great defense?...ALL THE TIME...Pats played GREAT defense in 1st half but what about the 2nd half?..24 points in the 4th Q!!...That dont count?...Brady gives them lead with "38" seconds left and Chiefs on their OWN 15 yard line and Pats defense CHOKES up the lead...Belichick is a great coach but Brady is MUCH MUCH more important to the Pats success
Believe it or not, yes, people are more annoyed by an egregious foul than by a tame one. The notion that people only care about the Saints foul because of a recency bias is ridiculous and more than a little offensive, given your obvious lack of faith in your viewers’ intelligence.
The dude threw 2 picks, one of them allowed the chiefs to come back and take the lead. He threw a 3rd pick that woulda lost them the game if it weren’t for Dee Ford’s encroachment stupidity which absolutely had no bearing on the play.
Colin, your wishy-washy comment about the "non-call" on the missed Facemask grab of Goff on 2nd/Goal was a Missed Call, I agree. But, that did NOT affect the actual PLAY!!! STOP comparing them! Now, that Blatant Helmet-Helmet & P.I. by Rams DB Clearly did directly affect the outcome of that particular play of the WR even having a shot at catching it! Besides, who knows if Rams would've done anything w/a New/Fresh set of Downs inside the 5 or maybe got stuffed & still settled for 3? B Saltwater Concrete Cowboy Halas when you were saying they need challenges under two minutes int he red zone, it’s not that Payton couldn’t challenge the play, it’s that penalties are unchallengeable (as dumb as that is). When it comes to challenging flags, I think that each team should get an extra challenge flag, but never get them back. So you on,y get three challenges per game, period. Then, you can challenge flags, but you have to be careful what you challenge. This would keep coaches from challenging every flag.
@@adamduerwachter2596Yeah, the NFL has gotta get it right! I agree w/the 3 Challenge Flags/Game & use them or lose them along w/a Time-Out if wrong like how it is now. Heck, even the blind people in the stands could see those Penalties on that 1 play soon as it happened then over & over on the Jumbotron screens & could even hear his helmet crash into the WR's helmet... Having a couple extra plays actually being reviewed to ensure Fairness wouldn't take much more time. Maybe they can Stop airing during our National Anthem. They just air it to see who's "Kneeling" so they can stir up/create "controversy". Just start airing the games prior to Kickoff to account for a few extra minutes of Replays we actually need.
Ah, but it did. At the time it seemed like it was the Rams last chance to win. So, by your logic, it was okay that the refs miss that call because it did not affect the play. How can that be? A missed penalty would have certainly affected any play. It was not helmet to helmet. The side of the helmets hit which is not blatant in any way. Yes, it was a missed call, but there was no attempt to take out the player with the helmet. The refs don't allow you to hit a player low anymore. So tell me, where else can you hit a player?
@@mtpascoe1st, it was Helmet to Helmet. The player who did it even admitted All his Violations he got away with. Heck, he just Finally got Fined today by the NFL I just heard. I'm sure he'll erroneously Appeal it as players always do. They should get extra punishment & Fines when they lose Appeals & waste NFL's time. Anyways, I agree w/you the Refs did miss the Slight Facemask! But, that did NOT change the Game. Rams maybe would've got stuffed again, even after they got that 1st Down & Still settled for a FG. Now, the Saints NO CALL on the other hand, DID change the Game cuz, the Saints would've simply ran out the clock & WON the Game! I wish the Refs wouldn't of missed either call! But, Only 1 of them actually & Directly affected the actual outcome of the game.
Although I'm a Saints fan, I felt the Rams were going to win the game. There were penalties missed all game on both sides of the game. The refs were horrible all season and this game was no difference. The only reason that the DPI is such a big deal is because no other penalty has as strong of a direct line from Call being made to Result of the game. Had the Goff facemask been called they migth've still settled for 3 considering the Saints had stopped the Rams from running it in on the 1 previously. If the DPI is called though, then the Saints drain the clock, kick the FG, and the Rams need to make a Minnesota Miracle type play to win the game. For all we know if the Rams did score 7 there, the Saints could've gone down got a TD and the 2 point conversion if they felt like being greedy, especially if you want to say the drive plays out the same as the Saints would have 1st and goal on about the 2 or 3 yard line. Really the only problem I have with all this is how Rams fans are trying to justify why the call didn't matter with things like "still could have won" and brining up the previous penalty, which you can find other penalties previously that weren't called and would've favored the Saints as well. Just admit that the no call on an egregious play where there is no judgement really needed, kept the Saints from virtually guaranteeing a SB berth. Don't need to justify it, just be happy with the win.
Stop crying children, this is a mans game, N.O. Blew it early, many a times,,,,it serves them well, you think you have the better team, you should have proved it by winning, instead you pout,,,,yeah ,,,unless you change nothing will!!!!’
Yes. NO and KC blew it early. Why do we even bother to play the second half of these games? If Brady had brought his team back to force OT and the Pats lost because of the idiot coin toss playoff rule, there would have been an emergency rules committee meeting in NYC today. As long as Goodell is commish the Pats will hold on defense and push off on offense and get a bye week every year.
I don't disagree with you often, Colin, but I have to here. The upcoming Super Bowl matchup is laden with the stench of Goodell getting the storyline he wanted instead of what the game produced. In the same vein as "Jerome Bettis retires as a champion" or "Ray Lweis retires as a champion", Roger got the storyline he wanted by way of bad officiating in the "Tom Brady gets his last Ring against the team he beat for his first Ring...and retires a champion"-Bowl. Goodell has worn out his welcome with all the fans by refusing to use available technology and techniques to improve the accuracy of officiating. It's not entertaining to watch games decided by bad calls, but he's reduced the NFL Fandom to exactly that...smh
That wasn't a facemask on Goff, but move on colin. The penalty is not grabbing the face mask. The penalty is twisting, pulling or turning the facemask, which didnt happen!
Wow, EVERYTHING that Colin said was spot on 😳💡.. never in my wildest dreams would I ever think I’d agree with a whole take from Colin, but he was right about both segments.
It's dishonest to say you 'picked' the Rams. You picked the Saints, 28-27. You picked the Rams to cover, but you had New Orleans going to the Super Bowl.
The refs fixed the game. The NFL is tainted and sad. The one thing with makes that call different is Stevie Wonder could have made it. Ray Charles could have made that call. Sandra Bullock could have made that call blind folded.
Yeah Colin what about the previous PI that wasn't called where the Rams defender was hanging all over the Saints receiver? What about the helmet to helmet hits (2) by #58 Littleton that weren't called? Recency bias huh? You are FOS. I'm out. Enjoy watching your precious Rams play in the SB even though everyone knows the Saints should be there in their place.
There’s no way to spin this no matter what Cowherd is saying. We now have a Super Bowl with a team in it that doesn’t deserve to be there. This is no less than a disaster. It’s no coincidence that two days later they’re already talking about adding PI as something that will become reviewable next season.
What part does no one understand that the Saints had done enough to win at that point in time. It doesn’t matter if they had 0 yards rushing, doesn’t matter if they had thrown 10 interception, if they had done enough to win, they should’ve won. And sure they didn’t play superb in OT, but OT should’ve never happened, that no call gave the Rams a second chance. Literally a “second chance.” I hardly complain about refs deciding games, but this one is really worth complaining. Colin it’s ok to put blame into something when it that something is actually in fault.
The saints should be angry about that no call but they should still blame themselves for the loss. There defense allowed them to get a field goal to force overtime, and Brees threw a pick in OT.
Dominique Robinson the whole Brees throwing a pick in OT and the defense giving up a FG to tie although true is completely invalid. There was no reason for all of that to happen. Saints had done enough to win at that point in time. There was no reason for the Saints to try to win again. It’s like saying they should’ve won twice in one game.
@@JoseDiaz-wk2tw They wouldn't have automatically won if the call was made since it was still tied. Field goals have been missed all season with the game on the line so even if he made the one after the penalty doesn't mean we can automatically assume he would've made the one in a walk-off situation.
Dominique Robinson and you’re completely right, but your OT and defense arguments are just invalid. Cus the game would’ve played out differently if he were to make it or not. Which btw Will Lutz was perfect from under 30 yards all season. That would’ve been at most a 20 yard field goal attempt.
"Refball" is ruining football, and Colin cannot see the forest for the trees. "This blown call doesn't matter because of that other blown call and you didn't get enough rushing yards." What the heck are you babbling about? Are you excusing blown calls because of other blown calls? How about we actually try and get the calls correct? How about we review controversial calls? Stop making excuses. Belichick has been pushing to improve replay and fixing non-calls/blown calls since 2013, but you seem to be okay with it. Nice mental gymnastics.
If you think about it, Colin’s right. If Sean Peyton runs that ball on first, second, and third down to drain clock and the Rams time outs, the Saints kick a field goal and give the ball to the Rams up 23-20 with about 20 seconds on the clock, not over a minute with time outs left. If Sean Peyton hadn’t passed on first down and wasted a play on second down by running (which they clearly couldn’t do all day) that missed call on third down 1. Doesn’t happen and 2. You don’t need a penalty to win anyway. Sean Peyton took a page out of the Dan Quin playbook when it comes to draining a clock and kicking a field goal to basically win a big game, and that’s coming from a patriots fan who benefited from Quin’s bad play calling in SB51. Not saying the blown call didn’t cost the Saints the game, cause it did, however if Peyton calls the right plays and drains the clock right it wouldn’t have mattered and they would’ve won anyway. They relied on the refs to bail them out when their head coach failed them. Let’s also not forget the terrible decision by Drew Brees to toss up a pass with Fowler in his face instead of taking the sack. I bet 3rd and 15 looks way better than a pick that led to the loss. The refs in that game were bad period, they missed calls up and down the field on both teams all game long? Did the refs decide to run the ball 1st and 10 in field goal range when the rams had only 2 time outs. Did the refs decide to throw the ball under pressure instead of taking a sack? Nope, Sean Peyton and Drew Brees did
As a New Orleans native and Saints fan. I absolutely agree with you. Settling for those field goals, passing instead of running, and most of all, "falling for that fake punt". Jeez... I mean even I was at home watching and thinking, Fake punt... Can't believe they fell for it. That's when the Saints really lost the game. They had so many opportunities to win before it ever came down to that call.
A blown call on roughing the quarterback results in a score and eventually to the resulting tie. Plus the off side call was away from the play and had nothing to do with the interception. In the reg. season that would have been ignored. The Saints were so robbed it is horrible.
First of all, Collin said he didn’t like the rams when the playoffs started, second of all, Colin expects every team to be perfect in the playoffs. This isn’t college, defense exists.
The first to score rule needs to be changed! Coin toss should not be such a big advantage. 15min OT, leader at the end of 15min WINS! First to score is absolutely pointless!
For those of you who haven’t played sports, when something like this happens(missed PI call), it morally and physically drains you. You will not play the same
Thank you Colin 🙏 finally some good, common sense on the Rams/Saints game. Full respect for you sir, from a Rams fan whose tired of listening to Saints players and fans being sore losers when they should move on, be humble and take the loss.
Coming from a Eagles fan let Andy Reid go Chiefs before it’s too late he is a great regular season coach and might win you some playoff games but he is a horrible Championship coach this was his sixth conference championship game he is now 1-6 in those games with his only super bowl appearance being a loss
Bad calls & good calls tend to even out over the course of a game & much more over the course of a season but in this case, given the game realities at the time, the no-call for pass interference had a huge impact. In fact, if they refs make the correct call, the game is literally over, barring a miracle by the Rams. NFL officiating, as a whole, is badly inconsistent. What was a penalty two minutes ago becomes okay the next minute, etc.
It's kind of amazing that with all the technical capabilities that are on the field, the communication apparatus in place, and a group of overseers in New York, that the NFL cannot have a group of officials dedicated to each game who can make a call down to the officials on the field to review an egregious missed call like that. I am generally of the belief that you have many plays to win a game, and that one missed kick, or one penalty does not decide the outcome of the game. But if there was any set of circumstances in which a single call decided the outcome of the game, that occurred in the Saints Rams game.
In order to beat NE (especially in big games) you HAVE to play a perfect game to even have a shot.....Oh and btw NE can afford to make mistakes but the other team cannot. Its almost like u have to beat them twice just to beat them once. Rams are gonna have to play better than they have all year and have a few balls bounce their way.
For years I've watched the Rams get bad and no calls and people just say the ref made the call... get over it. Now the Rams finally get one their way. First of all the Rams were playing better and they would have come back and tied with a touchdown instead of field goal. The call did not give away the game and they could have fumbled the next down... We'll never know. One play or call does not make a game. The Saint were strong in the first quarter the rest of the game was Rams
Colin is never going to blame officiating - this rant is the case and point. I remember the day after the Gonzaga North Carolina NCAA mens championship game, Colin did some odd rant on how Lebron shouldn't complain about officiating - because LBJ tweeted about the bad officiating in that game. Officiating that did not allowing the kids to actually play a game with any pace, flow, or entertainment - the officiating in that game was a disgrace, and should have been called out. I have no idea what his malfunction is regarding officials, but even after a disgrace like the blown PI call, he won't admit the obvious egregious error

Nothing was complicated about this horrible referee job with NO vs LA... Absolutely the worst, most obvious missed call I have ever seen... looked like a submarine hitting a popsicle stand. Didn't even pretend to play the ball.
That’s as funny as a screen door on a submarine
Even Stevie Wonder saw that obvious PI and helmet to helmet hit.
And the facemask?
@@caesarmendoza2317 was not obvious and harder to see and would not of ended the game. Completly different
You Blew a 13 pt lead then Blew a 10 pt lead then got the ball in O/T and lost. that's what happened.
All of that being said, if Ford doesn't line up off sides the chiefs get the ball back and run the clock out. That pats had the ball more but still were in a position to lose the game. Mental errors cost the chiefs the game.
Robert Berry Well that IS what he said
TEAM CLASSIC SONIC I listened to it again and I still didn't hear him say that. Only how dominant pats were.
I mean I give the chiefs credit they somehow got it to overtime getting dominated most of the day
Because of Mahomes.
The defense failed Mahomes once again... oh well always next year
@@OCPARKWAY Oh they did?
"Blame your ex wife"
Nothing like Colin being Colin to start off my week
When the Rams didn't get their call, I just assumed Saints wouldn't get the next call they should have. Even thought maybe a Rams player will blatantly commit a penalty thinking they'll get one back lol. The pass interference that wasn't called was so obvious and blatant, ofc it should have been called. But we can talk about a lot of "what ifs." If the Rams got their call and scored, would the Saints really have done the exact same thing and been in exactly the same spot? Maybe, maybe not. They still had a chance to seal the game and they failed.
If they were in the same spot and got the pi penalty and rams got their penalty then game would have ended 27-24 saints with no overtime
Big Boi Ant so they were guaranteed to score a TD, despite going 2-5 in the red zone that game?
@@samcutler453 it would have been 1st and goal, that is alot better than just being in the redzone
Finally someone says it. The rams deserved that win.

It always goes back to refs screwing the Saints over no matter how you look at it
Cringe Central how do the rams lose if they both get their call?
The rams scored on most of the drives facemask were not called. So it wouldn't have changed much, but with 1:41 on the clock and your opponent has only one timeout. Being 1st and goal with a chip shot field goal to win a game literally killed by two missed call Pi and helmet to helmet.
If the Rams score a touchdown after that facemask that changes what happens. They probably play their defense different because they know the saints will have to score a touchdown

Use me as an “I hate Brady” button
He said they demanded “perfect officiating” it doesn’t take perfect officiating to see blatant pass interference right in front of your face
So drew Brees isn’t good
Drew Brees is still a great quarterback.
Dak Prescott ok but he’s not the GOAT cuz he had a chance to still win the football game he had the ball in OT and throws a pick
@@ChristIsKing7787 ok but there shouldn't have been a ot to begin with. Saints were robbed.
And he's one of the greatest to ever do it.
j Nunez sometimes u have to play the hand ur dealt and he still had a chance to seal his greatness but throws a pick
Even Robey was shocked that he didn't get flagged for that, he was looking for it.
That was a face mask my friend...Saints fans needs to move on themselves.
@@bellsboy No it wasn't READ the rule he didn't twist pull or turn his head. He let go after grabbing no foul
nocmsa it did turn his head..
@@SupaBloom if incidental and the player immediately let's go then it's not a foul. That's actually the point. It's a debateble call.
L
That's the worst blown call in the history of televised sports. It's not recency bias. It's world wide outrage
GO RAMS
Do people in LA even know they have a football team????
The Rams are a bunch of thugs led by Ndamukong Sue. He should have been banned from the league years ago.
That stat about dolphins, bills and jets been nearly 500 teams without the pats games is an amazing stat.
From Pittsburgh here. Patriots are the most dominant football dynasty in history. Hands down.
no pun intended with the word “crafty”
Just imagine: Thor arrives in Wakanda, Kills a bunch of minions and scream " BRING ME ROB PARKER! ! !"
A blown call on roughing the quarterback results in a score and eventually to the resulting tie. Plus the off side call was away from the play and had nothing to do with the interception. In the reg. season that would have been ignored. The Saints were so robbed it is horrible.
Colin also isn’t talking about the other missed pass interference call so...
First of all, Collin said he didn’t like the rams when the playoffs started, second of all, Colin expects every team to be perfect in the playoffs. This isn’t college, defense exists.
Well said, Colin! Yes, the refs missed an obvious call on the Saints, but they missed other calls also. The one on Jared Goff was obvious.
All points on the Saints are correct however, that one play at the end kept the Saints out of the Super Bowl. Its not rocket science.
it wasnt just a whiff. No, it was the most blatant missed call in the history of the NFL. It would of won the game for the saints No question.
Thanks for all great shows
Coming from a Eagles fan let Andy Reid go Chiefs before it’s too late he is a great regular season coach and might win you some playoff games but he is a horrible Championship coach this was his sixth conference championship game he is now 1-6 in those games with his only super bowl appearance being a loss
Colin there is absolutely no excuse or reason for that call not to be made! And it changed the course of the game/Superbowl/History
THANK YOU!!! Saints had a 13-0, 20-10, and 23-20 lead and they blew all of them
Colin spits facts, and only facts.
On Sunday, January 21, 2019, the crime rate in New Orleans was up 76%.
It does not matter if 4 points were taken because the saints still drove down the field and could have gotten a td if it werent for the call
First time I’ve agreed with everything Colin has said and his analogies have worked. And oh yeah yeah
What a horrible take, you know the saints got robbed
Heck you guys did everything it took to win it also took Peyton Manning's Colts at their very BEST to beat them back in 2006
For years I've watched the Rams get bad and no calls and people just say the ref made the call... get over it.
"He was rarely touched."
Yeah, and a shoulder slap was rougher poor Tommy Boy. Hope he isn't sore this week.
