      Everything should be reviewable, including whether uncalled penalties occurred. Teams should still only get the two challenges, and a third if they get the first two correct, but they should be able to challenge anything.

    • @Mistertwist.
      @Mistertwist. 5 лет назад +3

      @@Windupchronic if they do go that way, games will take 4 to 5 hours and that would just totally turn people off. Let em play. I'm old school. No replay. Yes in the current system the Saints got robbed. Sucks. I loved pre replay football. Refs were much better because they had to be. Now they all know replay is a safety net for them so they're not as sharp in my opinion. Most actually are horrible.

      @kevinscott59 5 лет назад +5

      It annoys me
      Yeah.
      It's funny how Saints fans and even some media deem this the most egregious no call in post-season history when no one mentions the no call during the SUPER BOWL when Mohamad Sanu was facemasked.Instead Jake Mattews was flagged for holding on the play when the penalties should have offset.
      The penalty took the Falcons out of range for the potential game-winning field goal and the rest is history.

    • @itannoysme3348
      @itannoysme3348 5 лет назад +2

      @@kevinscott59 yep, I forgot about that one. The Falcons had 10 or 11 instances in the last 20 min of the SB that could have reversed the outcome--and each could keep you up at night. Bad playcalls, bad luck, missed assignments, bad officiating, you name it. Decent chance that was our only Lombardi Trophy of the Blank era---and they handed it over to Brady.

    • @kevinscott59
      @kevinscott59 5 лет назад +1

      It annoys me
      As far as officiating goes my attitude is don't put the game in the hands of officials precisely because of outcomes such as these.
      Indeed if anything perhaps the most egregious thing that took place in both the Saints' recent loss an
      d the Falcons' Super Bowl collapse was the arrogance of the offensive minds involved(Peyton and Shanahan)and the fact that that their arrogance robbed their players of hard-earned victories.
      Indeed,both coaches chose not to have their qbs take three knees late in their contests,with time on their side and well within field goal range,to help seal the victories.
      Instead they chose to pass on two of their three downs.smh

    OK, I'm used to Cowherd being ludicrous, but this is above and beyond even for him. The Saints were by FAR the better team this whole year and that whole game. Nothing that happened in overtime even enters the conversation, because that overtime never should have even happened. The famous "interception" in OT was the result of yet another uncalled PI where the defender threw Michael Thomas down and the ball then fell on him - a wounded duck caused by hands to the face. It shows a disgusting lack of moral fiber to proclaim how proud you are of this Rams "victory" just because you predicted it. Thank God the league is also morally bankrupt and saved your pride as a prognosticator. Or did you just see the script ahead of time?

      True...and it never should've gotten to that point had the refs done their jobs and let the game end naturally. Instead they felt the need to not "crown a winner" on a penalty, and probably also wanted a more classic game.
      They got both of those things. But I hope the criticizm on them and the NFL as a whole lasts the entire offseason.

    Colin wanted the big market in the superbowl.. and he will turn himself into knots to push a narrative... blasted the saints offense for weeks without acknowledging the fact that they lost the best LT in the league in that time. Kept hammering the notion they didnt play well on the road... they were 7-1 this year on the road, the loss was a 3 point difference. Said the saints had an easy division with two 7-9 teams snd a 6-10 team meanwhile his patriots have existed in possibly the most stagnant division in professional sports for 20 years and had a 7-9, 6-10, 4-12 team this year. No saints aren't perfect, yes Pat's are good, and yes I used to be a big herd fan... but when you tell me the play at the end of the saints game wasn't that bad... you come off pretty glib... the rams player was beat, panicked and ended the play early by laying the receiver out before the ball arrived to avoid a touchdown. The down was taken away, that's not a missed facemask swipe at the end of a play or a mild Jersey tug. I have never blamed the refs after a game, because usually these things even out... that play was different. That was the officials halting the saints drive and giving the other team a chance. Not in a conspiracy way... just in a painfully negligent way.
    Lastly... colin.. dont pretend the saints, or any other small market team is bad just so you dont have to cover them. It's not those teams, or fan's fault you aren't as good as you used to be. Honestly, maybe you should move to a local Boston network where they will appreciate you finding a way to associate every major nfl story with Belicheck and Brady somehow. Regardless, I'm officially tuned out.

    The problem with Colin’s argument against the Saints is that, yes the Saints got the ball in OT and didn’t score-
    But it never should’ve came to that. If the penalty is called, it never goes to OT, and Brees never throws the INT. That never happens, 1st down Saints inside the 5, TD Saints, or Saints run out the clock, game over.

    • @DreamBird1

      It should have never come to that because Sean Payton should have told them to run the clock out in the first place. The moronic decision to repeatedly pass it was what led to the PI in the first place.
      And that also wasn’t the only missed call that potentially impacted the outcome. So quit pretending Saints didn’t have countless chances to win. They did. They couldn’t do it.

    • @joshpeck1054

      Michael Herd you dumb!! it was 3rd down and the incomplete pass made the clock stop so it gave them the ball back with enough time to come down field and use a timeout. If the refs called P.I it’s 1st and goal with rams one time out the saints kneel one time rams call their last timeout and saints kneel two more times .. the saints kick a field goal with under a 40 secs on the clock and rams have no timeouts . Colin, one play did decide this game. Don't compare the going to overtime in the Patriot's game to the penalty that was not called in the Saints game. If the blaring offsides penalty in the Chiefs-Patriots game is not called, the Chiefs intercept counts and they are in the SB. Had it happen to the Patriots, Goodell would have been on the field. Thank you Tony Gonzalez for keeping it real!! Very disappointed in Shannon Sharpe, thought he was a straight shooter, but like some of the other former players working for and toking the NFL jock strap, talking about before and after the play what the Saints could have done, but none of you guys talking about momentum! If you are cheated and believe that the game should be over not only did you not get the call that should have been made, but now the ref, not the Rams has given the other team the momentum! It probably would have been better if the Saints has lost the coin flip in the Overtime period that they are thinking that shouldn't even be! I will not be watching the SB, but I will be pulling for the Patriots. Mrs. Benson is a class act and it's nothing like a woman scorned! The Saints will keep most of the team intact, because this kind of injustice can only be corrected on the field. I'm sure the rule will be in place. With that being said, we'll be back! Who Dat!!

      But it isn't a guarantee that they would've even made the field goal. The ridiculous part is that if they do get the call, no one knew for sure if they would have scored. Cowherd's NOS and NE overtime comparaison is ridiculous. NO should have NEVER even gone into OT if it weren't for the refs doing the bird box challenge. Anything that happens after that is irrelevant. "Win the gaaame!" Um...they DID win it...until the refs said...naw...we're going to do our best to let the Rams get back in it.
    What happened in the NE-KC overtime IS relevant because the OT didn't happen based on the worst call BY FAR of the season and possibly in the history of the league.

    Hypothetically, lets say both the face-mask and PI were both called. Rams would be up 24-20 (assuming the Rams did score after that which the probability was super high) and the Saints would be on the verge of scoring. Now two things are possible, either the Saints score a touchdown practically sealing the game for the Saints or the offense for some stupid reason doesn't score making the Rams the winner. Either of these scenarios I am fine with in the grand scheme of things, but when the refs ruin football games for both teams by not calling or blatantly making false calls (roughing the passer), it just ruins the feeling of the game. Overall, I just feel like I'm waiting for that one bad flag every game to just ruin the mood.

    A lot of people hate on NE just because of how easy they have it every year. When they play in the weakest division of the league for the last 10+ years against the Jets, Bills and Dolphins, they get a 6 win head start practically every season and have to go up against that competition when other teams have to face 2 sometimes 3 other good teams in their respective divisions, causing more wear and injuries for their players. They are the product of having the lucky privilege that is their weak division.

      You really can't claim the AFC East is trash when the numbers say otherwise. People say that the reason that they make it every year is because the AFC East is trash.
      Where are your numbers to back that up?
      Let me find them for you
      Since 2000 the AFC East has:
      The most wins even without the top team involved
      AFC East: 395-469-0 .457
      NFC East: 390-472-2 .451
      NFC South: 394-501-2 .439
      AFC North: 367-493-4 .425
      AFC South: 365-499-0 .422
      AFC West: 363-501-0 .420
      NFC North: 361-502-2 .417
      NFC West: 347-515-4 .401
      Since 2002 the AFC East and NFC South are the only divisions with all teams owning 100 wins
      The Patriots have a winning record vs every division in football since 2001
      NFC North: 14-2 .875
      NFC East: 13-3 .813
      AFC North: 25-6 .806
      AFC South: 25-6 .806
      NFC West: 15-5 .750
      NFC South: 12-4 .750
      AFC East: 83-29 .741
      AFC West: 25-13 .658
      They have a near identical record vs their division as outside their division 77% and 76.6% The Jets made the playoffs 6 separate times since 2001 including back to back AFC Championship games they have combined for 17 winning record seasons

    • @ravens52raylewis87
      @ravens52raylewis87 4 года назад

      Every team with 5 or fewer wins from each division since realignment
      AFC East: 9
      AFC West: 19
      AFC North: 17
      AFC South: 19
      NFC East: 11
      NFC West: 18
      NFC North: 15
      NFC South: 12
      As of 2017 season
      Are these teams bad or do the Patriots just make them look like they're bad. Brady and the Patriots played in an era of the AFC including:
      Peyton Manning's Broncos and Colts
      The Ravens with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed
      Big Ben's Steelers
      LaDainian Tomlinson's and Philip Rivers Chargers
      Even teams like:
      Andy Reid, Alex Smith, and Patrick Mahomes Chiefs
      Steve McNair's and Mike Vrabel's Titans
      The Raiders with Rich Gannon and Charles Woodson
      The Texans with JJ Watt and DeAndre Hopkins
      The New York Jets with Rex Ryan and Darrell Revis
      The Buffalo Bills with Drew Bledsoe and Josh Allen just this past year
      and Jacksonville Jaguars with Jalen Ramsey, AJ Bouye, and Calais Campbell have all had quality teams

    Collins logic on the overtime position makes no sense. He states that Kansas City not getting a chance on offense is fair because the Saints blew their chance on offense and the Rams overcame and unfair disadvantage therefore Kansas City should have overcame the same unfair disadvantage if they wanted to win. It is still an unfair disadvantage no matter who overcame it the probability of scoring is much higher when you’re on offense than when you’re on defense. Just because someone over comes and obstacle doesn’t mean everyone else should face the same obstacle when it’s unfair. That would be like telling every person of color to deal with any workplace disadvantage that might exist because Barack Obama overcame it and became president..... know if it’s unfair then it’s unfair, we’re looking in sports for the same thing and equal playing field for everyone. You cannot justify the means with the end.

    • @ravens52raylewis87
      @ravens52raylewis87 4 года назад

      Explain to me how its an unfair advantage when:
      1. The Chiefs had the opposing teams offense at 3rd and 10 three times in a row in overtime and could have gotten a stop I'm not going to feel sorry for you if you lose a game because you performed poorly and sloppily on defense knowing that the game and the season are at risk that's on you and nobody else you gotta show up if you want to win you can't when you have multiple chances to end the game in your favor and you don't execute its your own fault.
      2. In overtime you do have an opportunity to get the ball if the other team wins the toss because you now have a chance to stop them and what's crazy is you don't even have to keep them from scoring at all, you just have to hold them to a field goal it's a team sport not an the offensive sport
      3. There were so many times of player arguing that each team should get the ball, And I agree when it was sudden death and you could get the ball, drive down and get to the 35 yard line and kick a field goal and win that was anticlimactic. Now you're giving the defense a chance to get that ball back to the offense. All you have to do is keep them out of the endzone. Again Kansas City should have shown up and played defense
      4. If your going to talk about health and safety for players in the NFL,
      you cant have a 72-74 LSU and Texas A&M game at the end of the season this year. You can't do that, you can't have it go on forever.
      5. To further my point the most obvious case I point to is Matt Hasselbeck against Green Bay he won the toss and he said "We're going to take the ball, we are going to score, and that's the goal we're going to score on" and he proceeded to throw a Pick Six to end the game I'm not going to need to buy into the fact that every team needs to get the ball it's not a participation game there's not any participation trophies
      That's like having a week to do simple homework for junior high school and not doing it in time when you had a week to do it don't be surprised if the teacher yells at you when it's not finished when you had an entire week to get it done what are you going to do blame him when he gave you time to do it?

    I think the reason people are so upset about the no call, is that it wasn't the Saints own doing. The Saints made many mistakes, but if that call is made Saints would most likely win, negating the mistakes. It was the bad officiating's fault. It has nothing to do with Sean Peyton or Drew Brees, it was the official. That's why people say the Saints were robbed because that call was out of the Saints' control
