Deion is such an inspiration for what he done for our program here at CU. Joel Klatt is completely right. I am only one student here, but if Deion leaves I send him with my love. He is a great man and inspires me to do better. I know he won't read this, but thank you Deion.
You will graduate before Coach Prime sets out on a new journey. The C.U. A.D and Pesident hold the keys . Prime and team need tier 1 funding and N.I.L monies
The best thing for Deion is for CU not to make the playoff and have the fans protesting 😂. I think CU would be blown out against 8 of the project 12 teams.
The thing i think Deion likes about CU is he gets to show alot of young men(particularly black men) a different way to live, Boulder is a very white, low crime, affluent, welcoming city up in the mountains. He can show these young men a different world from where most of them come from and how attainable it is with hard work and dedication.
Yep,not just driving them but also building bridges and great rapport with the greater Colorado. Hopefully, the guys who don't make it to the league take advantage of it
Why are you assuming black men are living in some ghetto environment as the reason why they should come to a white environment like Colorado to better themselves don't they have a father to do that
Deion is a great dude. He demands what the game demands. And that is alot. Respect your Teammates Respect the Work Respect the Game Sounds easy, but those 3 things come with a ton of BS. Practice, Perform, Play at Maximum Purpose is Possible if YOU invest in it.
I would also add that Oregon played both Maryland and Wisconsin after those two teams had BYE weeks . . . the extra week of prep and rest matters, especially for developing a defensive game plan. And it showed. I knew that the Ducks had a very early 1st week off (Sept. 21st), and have played an 8 straight week conference slate . . . that's tough. Glad these guys mentioned that. Didn't realize that no other team in the playoff mix has had to do that.
@ Idk if I’ve ever heard of a team having to play their last 3 opponents that each have byes (Maryland, WIsconsin and Washington) thankfully the bye week came at a perfect time for the Ducks. Great point.
Oregon is also the only #1 team to not immediately choke it away lol. We were switching #1 every week at the start of the season. There's something to be said about being THE biggest target in every game you play. Everyone is gonna be fired up going into the #1 rank. They've withstood the pressure excellently so far.
Every time I watch the two of them in their segment, I say to myself, " That's the best college football segment I have watched this year." It happened again. The two of them, in my opinion, create the best reflection on college football available for us who love the sport.
Another thing that's not often mentioned is that in Oregon's 8 game conference run many of those teams had their bye the week before they played Oregon. Before Oregon's game against Washington both teams have a bye.
I grew up in South Korea, New Zealand, England and now in USA and i honestly have to agree with Colin. USA is different to all of the countries I’ve lived at. As long as you put in sincere effort, you get a fair shake in this land. God bless 🇺🇸
Deion not only helped the team/school but has been so beneficial to the local economy. I don't think he wants to coach pro athletes. I agree with Joel, Deion has found his calling.
I don't even follow CFB closely until the playoffs but this is my favorite segment in sports every single week. Reflective, knowledgeable, and truly insightful. Love these guys
@with what ohio state spent in the offseason, having projected 11 draft picks, the only teams that you can afford a loss without criticism is Georgia Oregon and Texas. that’s it
This is the only segment of mainstream television worth watching. These guys really should be the prime college football analysts and by that I mean paid that way. They already are the best. Far better than the entire ESPN squad combined.
Has Oregon become the 'Bad Boys' of CF just like Miami was in the 80s? I know Lanning coaches like Jimmy Johnson use to. Takes chances = Plays to win and Does things that other coaches might not like.
Great work Great Content Great show 👏 👍.... Love both you guys commentary.... Very appreciated 🙏 and very good at what you do.... here every week be4 and after game day.... Great Great work fella's....
Best segment of the week! Deion also said no to NFL because he doesn’t like that men Cashing checks and didn’t do nothing to deserve them. Ind 27 OSU 17 Army 245 yards on ground
5:00 okay Joel. Big 10 has northwestern, Purdue, Maryland, Michigan state who have a combined 5 conference wins. Bama just played @tenn Missouri @LSU back to back to back weeks before Mercer. Don’t even get me started on UGAs schedule
Indiana is absolutely NOT putting up 30+ on this Ohio State defense lol. Chances are they’re going to try to milk the clock as much as possible to keep OSU’s offense off the field.
This is why the playoff tournament has been in the plan for years. It's going to allow teams opportunities to prove themselves. But it comes at a cost.
Deion would still be loved if he left Colorado. His parlaying of his past NFL stardom as a CB into attracting teens in the transfer portal has been huge. He wont go to Dallas next year, and would fail if he did, because there he would actually have to know how to coach to be successful. Smart NFL teams will hire him as a GM.
I'm a Miami fan and I find it weird that everyone thinks Miami is in the playoffs. Currently they won't even make the ACC title game. If Clemson beats SMU, Miami shouldn't go to the playoffs over an SMU team whose second loss comes from being good enough to make a conference title game.
Miami will likely be in the ACC title game. Assuming Clemson and Miami win the rest of their season, Miami has the tie-breaker with the better win% against common opponents (Miami beat Louisville, but Clemson lost). If there is a 3-way tie with SMU, Clemson has the worst win% against common opponents (again, Louisville). Of course, they could lose to WF and would be out. I think the ACC champ will be the only team to make the playoff.
❤❤TY GOD For Colin Cowherd, Jason McIntyre, JMack, Joel Klatt, Coach Eric Mangini,Rick Bucher, Tom Brady, TJ Houzmanzadeh, Danny Parkins, Ashley Brewer, Bucky Brooks, Joy Taylor and everyone on The Herd and their Families.
I think that Ohio State has alway’s been the best team in the country this year, only losing by 1 point to Oregon, at Oregon, early in the season, a game that Ohio State should have won, and will beat Oregon in the Big 10 Championship game, in Indianapolis, in a few weeks! Michigan is next! 🌰🏈
Klatt if you knew anything about football Carson who’s been iron buckeye two years n row, started every game last year as center, will be center now. Austin to guard who started two games and played against Oregon. Ohio state might struggle a little but will be fine. Thanks for caring kids.
I was a Deion unbeliever. I’m a believer now. I hope he stays at Colorado. Evan as a Texas Tech fan… maybe even especially as a Texas Tech fan… I want, no in NEED, Deion to stay at Colorado. He is the best thing happening to college football right now, and as a result the best thing happening in the Big 12. Go Buffs! I don’t care if you hate it, GO BUFFs, GO DEION!!!!
I am a bit nervous about this matchup because of this OSU O line… Another shift in plans.. I am sure OSU will be fine at the end of this but for the BigTen championship and the playoffs is what I’m worried about…
CU alum…if Deion goes to the NFL to coach his son, or not to coach his son, I’d stand up and clap and shake his hand threw the tv screen. I’m old enough to have gone there when they were making Big 12 championship games (only to get beat by like 40 by TX or OK but still, respectable seasons). Joel Klatt era seasons. And he was 100% correct and honest when he said this team was DEAD. Despite having actual winning history there was no sense this team could turn things around. Deion changed that. First, and yes it is important from an institutional perspective, the money he has brought in is unprecedented. It would be disingenuous to not frankly start with that. But two, I think even if he does leave he’s not going to leae the program in a bad place. There are ALOT of talented young players on that team and most aren’t even NFL eligible let alone ready. Now could they transfer if he leaves? Sure. But I bet whoever replaces Deion is hand picked BY Deion to ensure that doesn’t happen plus now they have the NIL money to retain those players against counter offers. Obviously I hope he stays. I think he could build a perennial contender. But if that’s not actually his dream. And his dream is the NFL and maybe a Mike Tomlin type career (remember neither actually call plays on either side; they are HEAD coaches), then all the best. CU is and will be appreciative (or at least we should be).
It’s like when your father visits you at school for lunch with you and all your friends think you’re even cooler because he’s there. Yeah, that’s what this is like. Priceless
I think we would get a Georgia vs Ohio State championship. Ohio State and Georgia have the easiest paths if the season ended today. It all going to be different in a few weeks.
Watch The Joel Klatt Show now: bit.ly/JoelKlattShow
Best college football segment in America. By a lot
ALOT
By a mile
And has been for years! That last Wednesday at the end of every season signaling Joel’s last appearance always sucks
I agree
