Deion would never go to Dallas because all the attention would not be on him and he would no longer have total control over the program he was running. Deion has pretty much a blank check to do anything he wants at Colorado. Why TF would he give that up? Money? Deion can make more money on TV than he ever will as a coach. Prestige? He can get all of that by contending for Nattys at Colorado. To follow his son into the NFL? He will still have one son at Colorado. No way he wants to deal with the Circus that is working for Jerry. Honestly what coach would?

The Cowboys are fully stuck with Dak. Nobody is going to take on that contract. They have seen Dak with the best OLine in the NFL and still not do anything in the playoffs. No, as much as I love Prime I don’t think his son should play for Jerry Jones. Go to the Giants, he’ll be a star in New York and be developed as a passer under Brian Daboll. People forget there’s a reason why Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen are the QBs they are, and that’s because of good coaching!

If they cut Dak next year the dead cap hit on the cowboys books would be $151,887,647. The salary cap is $220 mil and they’re already allocating a good bit to lamb & diggs with parsons coming up. It would be financially impossible to cut Dak for a minimum 2 more years. So unless he agrees to a trade or you pay him to stay home it’s literally an impossible task and not even worth discussing. I would think as smart as Colin is he would go over to spotrac and get this very accessible information

I never thought I would see "manufactured consent" in sports. Colin just sold out without knowing it. Jerry is in trouble. The Cowboys are in the crosshairs.
It's simple for the Cowboys. You are all-in on Dak. So build around him. Trade Micah for picks. Move the trash Diggs contract and see what you can get. Build the O-Line and put weapons with CeeDee around Dak.
Then hire a legit Offensive-minded coach to make it all go. That's what you do if you're the Cowboys.
    Colin is off his rocker.

So, just to clarify, there's very few scenarios where you can move on from Dak before 2026. Just a financial reality.
If he's released prior to June 1st, his 2025 cap hit becomes $151.8M. If he's traded before June 1, his 2025 cap hit becomes $104.1M. The Cowboys can't afford either of those.
If he's released after June 1st, his 2025 cap hit is $89.8M (his current cap hit now, which the Cowboys can't afford) and he has an additional $62M dead $ cap hit in 2026. Neither of those is an option.
The only "slight" option is a post June 1 trade, where they draft a QB in April and convince another team to trade for Dak. That comes with a 2025 cap hit of $42.1M, and another dead $ cap hit in 2026 of $62M.
Basically, there is no scenario possible where Dak isn't a Cowboy and doesn't cost at least $104M over the next two years.
The most realistic outcome is a post-June 1 cut or trade in 2026. And even that comes with significant dead $ cap hits.

A team with only five playoff victories over nearly three decades suggests the issue lies not with the players or coaches, but with its one constant…the GM/Owner. The addition of players and/or coaches won’t help unless Jerry changes.
Jerry Jones reminds me of Al Davis. Their earlier triumphs made them resistant to relinquishing control, leading them to crave the limelight and failing to acknowledge their role in the team’s issues.

I couldn't agree more. That being said giving up Parsons and three first rounders to move up is a reach. I think they can just trade Parsons to move up or what i like more is get more draft picks for him including first round picks. At that point you could decide to use some of that draft capital to move up if you even need to. They may actually end up with the first pick as is. Team is horrible lol. But regardless trading Parsons while he is worth some quality draft capital is most likely the way to go. No sense in keeping him and paying him also. Then you have 3 guys (Parsons, dak, cede) getting 65% of the teams salary cap. Thats really terrible cap management.

  • @MoeDavinci
    @MoeDavinci День назад

    - Their roster is not bad as a few other teams that are in the mix
    - The Texans do this to every QB-deprived team
    - McCarthy is fighting for his job
    - Players have contractual incentives
    - Dallas is “too big to fail”, meaning that they have too much pride to purposely give games away
    - Washington’s second game with DAL may be inconsequential, if the Eagles already clinched. Washington will be playoff bound and would want to rest their players.
    - The Raiders, Jags, and Titans may fire their coaches midseason too depending on results of games
Overall I can see the Cowboys winning 2-3 more games.
Also, trading 3 firsts AND Micah Parsons is how folks get fired lol.

Doesn’t work like this. You can’t just “move off” the quarterback you just signed to a 4 year 60m a year contract. It just doesn’t happen. We’re stuck with him. It is what it is. We need to trade Parsons, load up on draft picks, hire Ben Johnson (pipe dream, I know) and hopefully finish 3-14 and get the highest pick possible. We re-signed Dak because Jerry didn’t think the rest of the team would be this bad but he was wrong. They’re terrible. And Dak’s contract limits what we can do in free agency. Also giving up 3 first round picks to get Shedeur would see that stadium burn

I wouldn't draft Sanders under any circumstances because his father comes with him. Dim-witted decisions regarding player personnel have made the Cowboys what they currently are, and I don't believe most or any of that is on McCarthy. Remember that this is the team that let Amari Cooper go for a 4th found pick because they got mad at him. Seen what Cooper is doing lately for Buffalo? When momentary emotional upsets inform your decisions regarding personnel, the team suffers.
As for much of the rest, here's one thing I think most of us can agree on: Offenses become exponentially better when the offensive line is absolutely first rate. These days, the Dallas line is third rate. I think of Joe Gibbs' success with the Redskins in the 1980s. They won three championships in eleven or twelve years with three different QBs. Not one of those QBs are in the Hall of Fame, but those offensive lines were consistently awesome. When these same Cowboys won three out of four championships in the early to mid-Nineties, their offensive lines were superb. Would Troy and Co. have had the same success with average or below-average players manning the line? I don't think so.
What Dallas has done at running back is also a real head-scratcher. Bringing back Zeke was simply bizarre. As for Dak, all anyone can do is shrug in disbelief at the money they are now paying him (and thus not paying offensive linemen, a great RB, and/or others). Again, that's not McCarthy. That's Jones and his son.
