Absolutely Julian is. I don’t think the Pats win their last 3 without him. In the slot, you could not guard him. Sure, he may not be your typical WR 1, but he was tough, made plays in the biggest moments, and he is probably the best slot receiver I have ever seen. Isn’t that what a hall of fame player is?
I've been waiting my entire sports watching life for a pundit or commentator to point out the stat compiling of players on bad teams. Colin nailed this take. Archive this clip and play it for the HoF voters in 5 years!
Only behind Jerry Rice in postseason catches and yards, clutch in Primetime games, AFC Championship games, and superbowls, made more big catches than any wideout in the last decade, often got doubled because he was so lethal 1 on 1, that's a Hall Of Fame Career in my opinion.
That's the best reasoning for Edelman in the Hall of Fame that I've heard. To those pointing at his regular season numbers... Not only should post season be considered for the Hall of Fame... it should be the most important consideration. As it is for football generally.
this is why i love colin. he articulates it just perfectly. He's a HOFer, no question. When it mattered most, he delivered. And ultimately, in pro sports, thats ALL that matters.

Julian Edelman should be in the hall of real famers, the efficient ones, those who did little but did it in a big style under the most pressure, unequal playoffs performances, iconic super Bowl catch maybe the greatest ever! him and Gronk were the most feared the most guarded yet he delivered big real big, during the second Brady Dynasty he was number 2
Colin Cowherd just gave a Hall of Fame performance that was one of his best, if not the best I have ever heard. Yes, Jules is obviously deserving of the Hall and so is Colin Cowherd...
Talk of smoltz took me back to great memories of prime braves. Smoltz also was great for pivoting to a closer for a while, and did an amazing job at it. His whole career with that beard and balding head, he looked like he was 47 years old. Wise beyond his years I suppose.

Gonna miss the flying squirrel one of my favorite players to watch ever. He always did something that made you go damn he's good
Bravo Colin,this was awesome!!!!
Your analogy about the friend
Was fantastic.
This was absolutely the best argument made for Edelman.
I think he should mention your name when he gets enshrined.
Seriously.Great job.
For once I agree with you 100%. Edelman has been one of the most tough, versatile and valuable players I have seen in a long time. Coming from a college quarterback and having the toughness to play so many positions me is a no doubt hall of famer for me and I hate the Patriots LOL.
Good take. Best argument for HOF status I've heard. We get very stat-centric sometimes. Comparable to the Jeter argument.
@udYi Q Right, but you are sort of missing the point... The way we see value and success can and should sometimes be different than stats, Pro-Bowls (which is debatably of no value), or All-pro. Name a WR that was more important to his team while winning 3 chips?? Not many on that list above Edelman. I don't know if he is worthy of the HOF but this case for it if he does get in.
@udYi Q You missed the point pro bowl is also too stat-centric. And he should have made pro bowls if we're real. And many seasons he missed some regular games which is why he didnt.
It took Art Monk forever to get in, let's at least let him wait a bit lol.
Thank you for mentioning Art Monk. I'll mention a couple more greats you almost never hear spoken about: John Riggins, Daryl Green.
Colin hit another round tripper on this segment. Thanks Colin. It's fun to watch "The Herd".
Edelman is what a nfl player should be. A hard working dedicated to his craft. Always on and off the field was a humble and trustworthy man. He should be a first ballot hall of fame. It was awesome to see him play his game.
Best analysis of the day. Totally awesome.
I was a bit on the fence with regards how most people judge NFL HOF but Colin made a great point and sold me on it. He's accomplished a lot more than some of the HOFers and context is everything
Ge may not have been one of the best receivers in the league each year. But he is one if the best playoff receivers ever. And that man would take a hit to make a catch. He has to be one of the toughest receivers i have seen
Absolutely Julian is. I don’t think the Pats win their last 3 without him. In the slot, you could not guard him. Sure, he may not be your typical WR 1, but he was tough, made plays in the biggest moments, and he is probably the best slot receiver I have ever seen. Isn’t that what a hall of fame player is?
great take Colin
Hall Of Fame or not Julian Edelman is my Favorite all time Patriots Player I just love and appreciate the Dawg in him.
This mans did not just compare Edelman to Calvin Johnson. Let’s also not forget about the PED suspensions the HOF doesn’t look brightly upon
Great show Colin
Masterpiece of a segment
this is why i love colin. he articulates it just perfectly.
He's a HOFer, no question. When it mattered most, he delivered. And ultimately, in pro sports, thats ALL that matters.
Then you would have to change the hall of fame
It's complicated. I get all those saying the shouldn't be in, but I'm sure if you ask Brady who'd he like to throw to in a dire situation..And he will 100% say Edelman.
Definite hall of famer. The epitome of a slot receiver. Also had so many clutch moments and had overall durability. The guy was just tough. And Im a Giants fan.
Doesn’t have the regular season numbers
@@MakingMovesMajor doesnt matter. Colin explained it well.
@@jjramos46 Colin "Drew Lock MVP candidate" Cowherd
@@bearholdensharkslux4791 Colin "Im not a mock draft guy" Cowherd
Colin "Sam Darnold is Thicc A Coastal Kid" Cowherd
Crazy how in MLB if you take PEDS you are out of the game yet in NFL you failed a PED test ,suspended the same year and not only do he get to play the SB you can win the MVP and not a mention once on PEDS by any sportscaster:D
The difference to me is Edelman was using them to recover from injury in the offseason, not to perform better in season
Almost all of Edelman's bigtime, clutch catches came in comeback wins. Colin talking like New England always lead in big games when in reality they came back quite alot.
He’s talking about leading in the regular season making his stats look worse. His big plays in comebacks were mostly in the playoffs.
One of Colin’s best segments. 100% agree....definitely hall of fame. That was great Colin.
Amazing segment. I agree with every point wow I would PUT HIM IN THE HOF!!!!
Colin Cowherd just gave a Hall of Fame performance that was one of his best, if not the best I have ever heard. Yes, Jules is obviously deserving of the Hall and so is Colin Cowherd...
Julian EdelGOAT
Thank You For Colin!!!
Talk of smoltz took me back to great memories of prime braves.
Maddox, smoltz, and glavine were an amazing combo of starters, with John rocker for a period being an amazing closer, until his incident.
Smoltz also was great for pivoting to a closer for a while, and did an amazing job at it.
His whole career with that beard and balding head, he looked like he was 47 years old. Wise beyond his years I suppose.
jules is definitely a HOF
Yeah and the eagles are a well run franchise
Well said 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
great take, Colin.Perfectly said.
If Brady wasn't his QB he would have gotten so much more respect.
Give me a break, Calvin Johnson has the best Nick name in the history of sports. No one will ever touch Megatron on that one.
People keep making the argument that he never went to a pro bowl, that’s because he was always in the super bowl 😂🤦♂️. He is an all time great and one of the most clutch receivers ever
thank you for saying what needed to be said. Edelman HOF. Its unbelievable how many people think otherwise. Unbelievable
First time I ever got to the end of one of your segments, on point, GL JE11 you will be missed.
Colins said his own standards for the hall are that the player had to be top 5 at his position for 2 contracts. Julian Edeleman was never a top 5 reciever in the league.
I listen to this segment regularly. I sincerely hope that someday this too can be said of me man. Juels is my fav player of all time.
