Julian Edelman is so easy to listen to. No fake smile, no trying to impress with long, multi-syllabic words, no filler words that waste time. He just gets to the point in an honest easy manner that is really nice to listen to. I'm a fan.
@rockjm9876543210 Exactly! As if having a diverse and developed vocabulary is something to be ashamed about. Maybe it's a reflection of just how dumbed-down the masses have become by mass-media, Hollywood, and K-12 schooling. Guys like this clown want to go back to primitive tribal grunting!😂
Edelman is exactly on the mark on three things - 1) The Niners are a team full of players that love the game 2) The Niners better be careful not to peak too early. 3) Health is the key for them at season's end. 2 & 3, everybody says. Not many folks pay enough attention to 1.
I agree that the O-line & D-line are the most crucial positions to a team’s overall success. However, I will say that when a team is spoiled with an All-Time great QB like a Brady or a Peyton Manning, these great QBs have the ability to hide some of their O-line’s weaknesses because of how great they are at making quick, accurate decisions with the football. Case in point. Look at the Colts that season where Peyton missed the whole season due to injury. With Peyton, the Colts were pretty much 13-3 or 12-4 every season (with the exception of Peyton’s rookie season). For a team to go from a consistent 12-4 (or 13-3) the previous 8 or 9 seasons to 1-15, just because they are missing ONE player, tells me that if that player happens to be an All-Time great QB, then for that particular team, the QB position leapfrogs the linemen as being the “most crucial” position (for that particular team’s overall success). Let’s also say, hypothetically, after Tom Brady’s first 10 seasons with the Patriots (midway through Brady’s career), Bill Belichick was given an ultimatum by Kraft that Bill had to choose between keeping Brady versus keeping all 5 of their starting offensive lineman (all 5 of whom were perennial Pro-Bowl selections), Bill would keep Tom and take his chances on building a new O-line, as opposed to keeping his 5 All-Pro offensive lineman and having to find a QB to replace Tom. And I believe ANY head coach would make the same decision and choose to keep Tom over keeping all 5 All-Pro starting offensive linemen.
Belichick in 10 seasons of coaching without Tom Brady: 79-88 record, including 42-41 at home and 31-64 vs .500 teams, 7 losing seasons, 0 Division titles. Belichick with Tom Brady: 219-64 and 6 SB titles. The fact is, with another coach, Brady would have won perhaps 7 or 8 SB for the Patriots. For example, the decision to bench Malcolm Butler just before the start of the SB against the Eagles cost them the game. Obviously, the players on the defensive team were completely distracted by the decision to bench the veteran player. Belichick is dramatically exposed since Brady left New England...
I get the case, but it is not the only variable. You have to look at it year by year. 2000 was his first year with the Pats, so the roster wasn't that good. 2001 Brady was just starting and the defense really carried the team, with Brady doing just enough (Raiders and Rams, e.g.). So, go like that to 2023, you will see a lot of talent turnover, some unlucky plays, some mistakes on the part of the other team (Seattle), inexplicable strategy by the opponent (Falcons), defense again won against Rams for Brady's 6th. Most years when they were offensive juggernaut, they failed to win the SB. So, you cannot look just at the record. I think Belichick did make mistakes, but he is responsible for everything around there, Brady for the offense. The culture Brady exhuded was Belichick's. It's just that Belichick needs a GM, he needs consultants who think like him, not his kids, not coaches who failed elsewhere (O'Brien, Patricia, Judge). Lombardi was a good fit there, for example.
Bill made Tom. Period. Darth Sidious is an amazing coach full of knowledge. He coached Pats to a couple of championships they had no business of winning. So let’s stop with the hate on Bill. You want to talk about a coach who hung on the coattails of his players, then look at Medicore Phil Jackson. Without Jordan, Phil would be flipping donuts
His arm got much stronger over the years. His first few years, it was relatively weak, but it didn’t matter because he was accurate and made the right choices.
Because that was the narrative in the early aughts when Manning was throwing to Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison and Dallas Clark, while Brady was throwing to Troy Brown, David Givens and David Patten. When Belichick actually got him a deep threat in Moss, Brady was throwing bombs every game. A strong arm is what makes those thread-the-needle passes work, which was Brady's bread and butter. The vast majority of NFL fans can't think with their own heads, they hear a narrative and run with it for the rest of their lives, despite clear evidence to the contrary.

@@slimetime3270: It's called the "Pro Football Hall of Fame", not the NFL hall of fame. LOL. Be that as it may, Jules isn't a first ballot, but he should most definitely be considered for the HOF. That Jakobi Meyers move had us all scratching our heads, nobody was second guessing we were all first guessing. He was our number 1 guy in an offence that was already weak. Also and Ive heard it a few times that Brock purdy doesnt have the biggest arm and pundits keep mentioning that Brady didnt either is a bad comparison. Bradys arm was considered top half of the league (top 15) his whole career. Look up older NFL lists by writers and scouts ranking arm strength throughout the years and Brady is always ranked in the top half of the league for 20 years
Brock is succeeding just like Jimmy G and other average QBs do on a stacked team. Give Mac Jones just Deebo Samuel alone and we’d be scoring. Let alone McCaffrey, Aiyuk and Kittle too.

Even The Chicago Bulls only had Jordan, Pippen and Rodman from all of those times, and Rodman arguably would have been in without Chicago.
Retired Edelman is a internet blessing
I could listen to Julian Edelman talk about football whole day 🤩
Love him or hate him but Colin brings on some great guests with great intel! Keep it coming Colin!
Wait, so New England teaches the receivers;
to get open,
catch the ball and
block for the running game… Profound Patriot way
I’m breaking chops though it pains me to say it as a New York Jet Fan, I love Julian Edelman. Every interview podcast or whatever I see him and I automatically stop and watch.
The game has changed. You can’t play defence like the way you used to in Bill’s heyday.
Jules and Dola were amazing
IT WAS BRADY!
Julian Edelman was the truth so talented, strong, durable and clutch certainly one of the best receivers to play the game my opinion
Love how Colin doesn't let Edelman finish a sentence before cutting him off
Wow, what an interview. Just like podcast interviews with the Kelce Brothers. Jules loves football and is smarter than most!
The ravens WRS all their game checks on the Pittsburgh Steeler. That was a classic game rigging
Damn, Edelman for Pats OC!
PEDS
Jules for catching coach for Pats he would also be a great motivator.
Edelman is actually a pretty bright analyst!
Bill Belichek is just overrated. Tom Brady saved his back so many times
BB being overrated is a insane take
@xblinkj why aren't they doing good this year then? And last year ? And the year before that?
@@theblinkerxhow long do they have to be trash before you think it might be true
@@erikjohnson1435 BB is a terrible GM, but he’s an all time great coach. BB had Tom Brady’s back all those years too ppl seem to want to rewrite history
@@ticklism8901 Mac and Bill relationship is terrible that's why
Nothings better then watching Collin talk to Edelman like he’s never played played in the NFL 😂
Love you forever Jules! 3 time champ!
Heres how patriots draft 24 should go:
Rd 1. Qb (preterably a mobile qb)
Rd 2. OT
Rd 3. WR/Offensive Guard
Rd 4. RB
Rd 5-7. Kicker, More offensive weapons!!!
Love me some Edelnut, keep up the good work 👍🏼
Edelman on point during this interview, down to the last comment
I would like to see a chart of quarterback efficiency per dollar paid per year.
Problem is if you have a defensive head coach is if you have a great play caller on your staff you’re going to eventually loose them when they become a head coach. If your head coach was already your play caller then wont have to worry about it😊
Edelman definitely needs his own show
After the Raiders dump them this week....its Bills/Dolphins...2 more losses coming up...1-7...Caleb we are coming for you.
Edelman big time clutch player high level high IQ football guest
Bill and Tom would go over defenses for 3 hours… wonder what they were watching…
yeah we know
I can explain Jacoby Meyers exit. Look at last season’s game vs the Raiders. That lost cost the team a playoff spot at the end of the season.
That’s the problem with the Broncos: too many of the players don’t love football.
The Patriots ruined Mac by screwing around with the offensive coaches last year. The Pats need to hire an official GM then get a new QB
I’m not saying at all that Mac is better than Brock, but I am saying we can’t know that , can we?
In comparison to Favre, Mahomes, and Marinos of the world they don't. Also top 15 isn't saying much, that's basically average.
