Well Julian was part of the greatest dynasty in football and Dana's favorite team so obviously he's gonna do it , clowns like Howie Mandel don't deserve Dana's time .
If its possible I have become a bigger Edelman fan since he retired. Probably a combination of appreciating more how he played and getting to know him through podcasts. On a side note, it is impossible for Edelman to mention something Belichick said without impersonating him, and I love it😂
I started watching the Patriots right after Brady came in and he was my all time favorite player but after SB 49 Edelman took that favorite spot, He showed so much work and determination that I just loved to watch and being a shorter guy myself that just made it even better. #ForeveraPatriot
Big Pats since the 1970’s have seen many good players over the years. The catch in the Atlanta Falcons S.B. by Edelman was the best clutch play ever. Thanks for the memorie!
He had injuries stacked yes, but I really feel like he did NOT like Cam. Cam was always asking Jules that year why he was in such a bad mood, and Jules would just say I am a grumpy guy...which he's not. Going from Tom Brady mentality led team to a goof, washed Cam is a huge culture change that I don't think Jules was feeling at all. Just my opinion though.
He probably hated the fact that Scam Newton couldn’t read a defence if his life depended on it, and didn’t want to get mauled blocking for his sorry a55. With Brady, he knew exactly what to expect each and every play.
It's funny that he mentions not being able to walk before that Seattle game but then he went out and hit his career high for receiving yards in a game. Animal.
Edelman is clearly a guy with a healthy dose of realistic self-awareness. He recognized it was time to hang it up and made the wise decision to do so with his health intact. He is still a very young guy with plenty of runway to start building the next chapter of his life. Too many guys try to hang on for way too long either because of poor financial decisions or because their entire identity and self-worth is tied to their sports career so they can't accept the reality of not being a "star" anymore. There is a limited window of time within which to maximize your earnings before your body breaks down, or when there is simply another young prospect who is younger, stronger, faster who comes along to replace you. Such is the reality of pro sports. Accept it for what it is, which is temporary, and enjoy the ride while putting aside some of the rewards for life after sports which (hopefully) will be much longer than the time spent playing the sport. All the best to Julian for a happy, fulfilling post-football life.
Jules wasn't the most talented but he had heart, dedication & discipline‼That fades faster than pure talent & along with injuries his time was up‼Put him in the HOF‼
Interesting to hear Julian say that he felt like he accomplished more than he thought he would be able to. Somehow he managed to be confident enough to go beyond whenever he stepped on the field. In my mind, he deserves to be in the hall of fame.
Huge pats fan over the Brady dynasty. Lots of great memories for him and his family! I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually was stoked to do this and just to chat it it up with Edelman tbh
Julian Edelman is a HALL OF FAMER. Super Bowl MVP and arguably the best post season wide receiver to ever play. Made the greatest catch in NFL history and was a key piece of THREE Super Bowl victories. Will never forget.
@@knightsfb32So is that all the HOF is stats. If the HOF is all about state being second to Jerry Rice in the postseason deserves a HOF honor in my book. Wes Welker was great but he couldn't finish the job that's the difference between him and Edelman, not to mention Edelman is a Superbowl MVP. Only 8 receivers have won a Superbowl MVP and Edelman is one of them.
@@yyynbbggsage7398 definitely wrong here. Edelman was a great football player. That’s why he went pro. You think just anyone can switch positions and learn WR in the pros? Lmfao. You just hate him cuz he’s white and a winner.

This kid was one of the best things that ever happened to the Patriots. I just had a feeling from day one, that this kid was just a special athlete. There should be no doubt that he is a hall of famer.
Julian literally pushed every bit of his body and probably could’ve played another season with the Bucs but I’m glad he didn’t….it killed me when Gronk and Brady did
Naw it was the perfect time to go. Brady was gone the team wasn't going anywhere,a first round loss was as good as it gets nowadays. He got rings and legendary SB performances there's nothing left to prove. Just glad I was here to see every snap what a time to be alive
Not many top players have done this, retire while they are ahead. Andrew Luck was going to be one of the best we have seen in our generation, but because of the constant injuries, then the work it takes to recover, he did not want to stay in that cycle. He got out before he was crippled. Props to Julian for knowing it was time.
As a lifelong Seahawks fan, we had it good with LOB and BeastMode. Russ wasn't it, though. For all the hype/chip on his shoulder talk, Super Bowl XLIX exploited him, rightfully so too. Him calling that audible with the Lombardi on the line, knowing EVERY other player and coach was expecting BeastMode there? Yep, that was his nail in the coffin as a Seahawks QB. The fact it took nearly 10yrs to finally rid ourselves of him? Far too long. Brady always understood what was at stake and to put team above himself. Russ never had that POV.
You left it all on the field Julien. The way you came back from the injury was impressive. In this league guys are trying to make a name for themselves. It was the right call to walk off into the sunset. 12 seasons. Amazing career.

If he had pushed it, he might’ve gotten hurt badly in a way that was life altering. He looks healthy and like he’s still training in some form(s) and a lot of guys can’t say the same.

I am not sure people see this. They money is so big now, that good players, like Edelman, have $10, $15 million in the bank. Subconsciously he is asking himself, do I really want to go through training camp, work my ass off, and take big hits in games? There are a lot of players who subconsciously say 'no' to themselves.
After working with the GOAT TB and getting physically beat up by the defense, there is not much incentive to be on a second rate team and endure more pain for a coach who has passed his peak?
As a chiefs fan I didn't like him lol but I definitely respected him. 2018 afc championship game where they beat us in ot is where he gained my respect.
