On one hand he's given them the opportunity to fight on The biggest stage in the world On the other hand he's elevated the sport to such a level that these fighters are being paid more now than ever before in history I certainly think they are underpaid, but the ufc isn't anywhere near as established as the NBA, NFL etc or as profitable as soccer leagues in Europe, the fighting scene is much more unpredictable and caters to a smaller audience, everybody loves fighting, but few ppl love it enough to buy a ppv U also have the sport being dependent on personalities like Connor, Jones, lesnar etc, it's nothing like the other seasonal sports

I've been watching this sport for decades and it is astounding, based on the size of the company, that several longtime UFC fighters are still getting paid $30-40k a fight and the fight bonus is still a measly $50k. How can you say you're one of the biggest sports in the world and still paying your athletes chicken scratch?

I certainly think they are underpaid, but the ufc isn't anywhere near as established as the NBA, NFL etc or as profitable as soccer leagues in Europe, the fighting scene is much more unpredictable and caters to a smaller audience, everybody loves fighting, but few ppl love it enough to buy a ppv
U also have the sport being dependent on personalities like Connor, Jones, lesnar etc, it's nothing like the other seasonal sports

He knows he can get away with it too, because there will be no shortage of young men wanting to beat each other up to prove themselves. No one is saying pay your ALL your fighters millions, when the main card guys make 10k. 10K, brother, that’s nothing if you factor in gym & coaching fees plus other expenses, fighters out of any other athletes in the world make less than your average citizen. The amount of effort & talent you need to be a pro fighter is insane, you have to give up everything else in your life bc if you aren’t there are guys who are.
