I grew up watching Iron Mike play, with my Dad, whenever they were on TV. I was too small to play organized ball, but I wanted to be Mike because of his intensity! That press conference he gave had me ready to run through a wall afterward! And I was so happy when Vernon had that tearful sideline moment with Mike later. That's when you know a man is locked in and sold out on the hard work necessary to be great!!!

I remember watching that press conference that week and who knew it would be an NFL historical moment. Mike meant business.

He might have meant it but the man had no understanding of how to be a head coach.

It's five (5) inches 🤡 . . . I'm 6' and I interviewed both in college and Davis towered over me (a tight end, kid) and Mike was no where near my height (a linebacker, child)!
5' 10" at best, next time do some Googling!

I hear you. I'm an audio engineer, and those Shure SM7's have a very tight polar pattern. Basically, it's very easy to lose the volume simply by turning the head just a bit. They are not meant to capture a wide area of sound. They should switch to clip on mics.

That's exactly what he just said here, and it's consistent with what he's said throughout the years. Even though Mike was thrown under the bus for the ineptitude of the 49ers organization at the time, Vernon constantly gave him credit for the impact he made on his career. If you look at the portrayal people had of Mike as a coach throughout the years, you'd think they were talking about Jim Tomsula.
