Disaster Pet Urine Carpet Cleaning

  • First off I suggested replacement on this one, and they had already told me that is in their plans. Due to the extreme amounts of pet urine there is no way to guarantee complete removal without first removaling the pad and treating the sub-floor first. There is a product called odor barrier for doing that. once that's done it would be good for doing a full replacement carpet and pad. Unfortunately, the last cleaner they hired was in and out in 30 minutes. 😬 There was areas throughout with brown out that was noticeable in each room. Furniture stain from pets peeing on them and it getting on the carpets. I'm just happy I was able to make a significant difference in the carpet to hold them over until they could change it out.

      Thought the same 😆 it's definitely one of those, they truly should have replaced it kind of things, but some people are just too cheap for that. But I do feel bad for those putting up with pet owners who allowed this to happen, cause it's very irresponsible. It's not even that hard to potty train them 🤦‍♀️

      I'm sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, it happens, and honestly, if they do a good job. Carpets shouldn't take any longer than around 8 hours to dry with good ventilation, almost no matter what machine they use. The bigger the machine with good dry passes will, of course, shorten that number. We usually see between 4-5 during the winter and sometimes 2-4 during the summer.

    Very cool to see the entire process. I have a basic steam cleaner, but definitely nothing as powerful as what youre using. I'm watching this in prep for helping an older relative to clean out their home (they also have pet damage in one room, not sure if on this level), kinda trying to get an idea of how to tell when a carpet needs to be replaced so I don't waste time cleaning a floor that won't last, but I'm still not sure how to tell when the pad/subfloor is bad. Are there any particular signs to look for?

    • @blackdiamondcleaningservices
      @blackdiamondcleaningservices  Год назад +2

      You would need a good UV light to see if it shows up on the carpet. Outside of that. You'd have to potentially pull the carpet back to see the backing and if it's hit with lots of stains from the urine salts. Chemistry plays a big part in getting it back to livable.

  • @kaylacarpenter272
    @kaylacarpenter272 6 месяцев назад +2

    Why no agitation, or spraying closer to the trim? I don't understand why they wouldn't want you to move anything to get the most for their money and the best clean. Very strange.

    • @blackdiamondcleaningservices
      @blackdiamondcleaningservices  6 месяцев назад

      Moving furniture requires a lot more time, which actually means higher prices. If they can move it out, then there wouldn't be a moving charge. All companies charge for it one way or another. If its just a few littlw things. Then there will be no charge.
      Berber carpet doesn't really benefit from using a CRB. There's a saying called TACT. Temperture, Agitation, Chemical, and Time. When one is missing. Increase the others. In this case. Dwell "time" was increased. However, if you see fit. You can post bonnet berber with a buffer. I hope this information helps. Thank you for watching.

    *to preface, i wouldnt dare judge, ive just delt with this type of pathway staining before & im saying it looks very similar.
    I can already tell this was a hoarders house bc i had a relative that had carpet like this. There was banana box after box stacked to the ceiling along every wall from chronic junk shopping & she was just too lazy to ever let the pets outside/didnt care. When you walked inside youd have to step up into the house, even though there was no steps inside...its very traumatic.

If someone cant replace something then dont continue with it or better yet be like you should do that instead i won't do anything unless you do. Then like leave and do nothing giving them like less hope and having to spend more money.

      Hi. The stuff used in this video has to be used in a professional manner and extracted out with a commercial size machine.
      If you happen to catch it shortly after it happens. Blotting it up with a towel will help a lot. If you have a small extractor. Flush it out with clean water. As long as you go after it quickly. That'll save you quite a bit on how bad it can become. As far as over the counter products. I'm not aware of anything that really does a good job. If any of the spots have yellowed out. Using hydrogen peroxide and a UV light can help remove it some cases.

  • @randyd9805
    @randyd9805 9 месяцев назад

    I've been dealing with this stuff since 1987. The reason they get so bad is simple. Some people buy or get a dog and have no clue how to train it. They are attached to the dog or other pet and basically, let it run rampant no matter how much damage it does or how much it costs them. I did a job a few years back where I can honestly and easily estimate the damage from 2 dogs in the house at over 20,000 dollars. If you think I'm exaggerating this I'm not even close to the actual figure. They had one of the largest wool rugs I've ever seen in my life. The value of that rug alone is over 17 grand. It was totally ruined and I do mean nobody on the planet could have saved it. These were 2 large Great Danes so you might be able to imagine what I'm talking about. Another rug was more saturated with urine than any rug I've ever seen in my life. The urine in it was unbelievable. I refused to attempt to do anything to either of them, but still did a lot of other work for them which took me the best part of an entire day!.
    You did a great job on that, and you have a good attitude about it. People will be people and people do stupid stuff where dogs or cats are concerned although cats represent a very small fraction of my urine jobs. Only seen a handful of super bad cat urine since 1987, but many hundreds of bad dog urine problems, probably thousands, but who's counting.

      I know I've put some video together, but it's with one of the regular cleaning videos, so I'm not sure which one it was.
      If its summer time. I'll spray everything out, wipe it down, and sun dry it. Pressure rinse the CRB brushes and under carriage and wipe that down. During the winter, I use an air compressor to blow out the filters from the vacuum so they don't take too long to dry.

      Unchained to treat urine first. Dwell for 20-30 minutes, biopro10k with pure o2 to work the dirt out. Berber has an affinity for oils, and the biopro has some citrus in it, so that'll help there. The pure o2 is an organic stain remover, which, due to the amount of pee stains, will help there as well. I rinsed with an acidic rinse, ultimate all fiber. This choice was made because pee stains outweighed the soil load and was better suited for this job.

    No point in getting new carpet if they still have the pet with the potty problem.

    I dont know who to feel the most sorry for.... you for having to smell and clean it or the people who live there and obviously weren't able to let the dogs out..... or the poor dogs. You did one hell of a job but theres no way you could have sucked it all out from under the baseboards. This was an extreme situation. This is when you need to pull in the garden hose and wash it out the back door 😂

      lol. You aren't wrong, and yes, I always mention the baseboard area being a potential big program. The tack strips holding down the carpet can also get soaked with pee and cause a continuous odor problem.

    I think you are very skilled and knowledgeable! The homeowners not very good careers of their dogs or property. Those baseboards are black and the carpet was chronically peed on. I don’t understand the level of neglect needed to allow the dogs to do that and to allow the carpet, furniture, walls and baseboards to be damaged. Ugh!

    Nice job!!! I have a question. Can I use unchained for urine stains and a other type of pre-spray for dirty stains? Can I combine them both?
