Thank you John, we really appreciate the lovely comment, we aren’t professional but we do like to show people that they can try anything and succeed if they just give it a go!
What an awesome window!!! Haven't seen one like that before. Love the little screens. Great tutorial. Wow that second window went in much faster than the first LOL. They look great!!
Another great video my friend. You guys are so talented. I love the chemistry between you and your assistant. She was a bit more professional this time. No giggling fits. Haha
I think the idea of opening at the rear is so when you’re driving the rain runs off the front window and over the rear, rather than having the front opening and rain being forced into the bit that opens and into the van.
Now saying that . All front slide door and driver side windows open to the rear . Would that make all them windows wrong . Also if ypur parked up and the wind and rain is from the rear would you have to reposition the van facing in to the rain . We have fitted them in other vans the same direction and never had an issue .
Lol there crazy mate . The whole argument of it’s in wrong is kind of flawed cos the fronts open to the rear . But hey bud every ones an expert lol . I just like provide in a bit of advice and a giggle .
Urban Explorer you’ve got some great work done and it’s definitely fun watching the progress.... have you decided on linseed oil on the new roof or maybe try danish oil ? Just finished an oak table restoration and it’s turned out really well 😎👍
Ohhhh we did it today emma got stuff called osmo oil it’s voc free and it’s really worked lovely , it has kept it the light colour but brought out the knots and grain . And given it a varnished look . I’ll post a pic tomorow after it’s all dry . But it looks really nice
Each to there own mate . With the plate off and the blade gets snagged you can make a big old mess and pull the van skin . It’s an option that some do and some don’t . If your comfortable using a jigsaw with the place on then I recommend using it I mean it’s not there for it to look pretty is there for a purpose. But what ever way you do it if it works there is no wrong or Wright way
Great job you did with those little window man, thinking of having a go myself.. got a question for you.. is there another part of the frame that clamps it secure from the inside.. kinda sandwich like.?
Not with the the bonded ones mate no . There are some that do clamp from the inner and seal up but with these ones it’s just add the sealer and stick the window on . Kind of like how they do with windscreens
Why not ditch that face mask and replace it with a Woolworths carrier bag, you’ll see more through it ! Usual great video with the usual great humour but fantastic outcome…success …bring it on
A few weeks ago this was one of those jobs I was 100% gonna do, now that I have my van and the DVLA don't seem to be playing ball I'm not so sure its worth the cost and effort. Does look nice though.
to be honest mate it dose not matter what the dvla say , as long as your insured correctly and tell the insurance company what in it and get the correct cover then its all good bud
I’m going to try mate but the way the dvla are it’s prob just going to be a van with window . But as long as it’s insured for the correct thing then I don’t mind . The dvla are being awkward with classification . But hey that’s life . We shall have to see bud
How’s that bud . There in the same way as the front panel windows they open to the rear . Also there is a catch on the inside and if you fitter them wrong it would stay open
Urban Explorer I have the same windows on my sprinter and was instructed to fit them on the opposite site by the company I bought them of the same as Mel’s world don’t think it matters though still look good 👍
@@campervanseaangler Openers to the rear is correct, it meens the overlap is under negative pressure when driving, it stops water getting forced in by posative pressure when they are fitted to the front .
I don’t think we get them , we get small things that just suck u off in the middle of the night and it’s not even a happy sucking it’s a nasty itchy bite
They have a catch in the inside that is on the bottom mate if you fitted them the other way then the catch would not stay closed . Also with the etching on the actual window the saftey mark that goes in the readable position . And Mel builds his vans a lot different to me lol
@@UrbanVanlife Yea the catch goes to the bottom , are you sure you didn't side them wrong , all the pics ive seen on the window fitters are opening to the rear ..
As long as the catch is as the bottom it dose not matter what so ever what way they open . We wanted them opening to the rear and spoke to the company that makes them . Infact we spoke to 2 company’s and it makes no difference at all if they open to the front or to the rear . Front windows slide to the rear so we wanted them matching mate .
watch how we fitted our other van windows here ruclips.net/video/Je5eWlDkuII/видео.html
we bought our windows from lakelandwindscreens.co.uk/

Buen vídeo,gracias.
I've been told take the metal plate off the bottom of the jig saw when cutting holes in the van makes it loads easier
