we are getting there mate but saddly we had 4 days of rain so it stoped us working , but its back to non rain now so time to get back out there and get doing stuff
Insulation is really important. Not only to keep heat in or cool in, but to help deaden some outside sound. We insulated our cargo when we were building it out. We're very glad we did.
I’m just wondering why you used the floor battens. Could you have filled in the sunken ribs in the floor with thinner insulation to bring them level with the raised ribs of the floor. Then glued down whole sheets of insulation straight over the floor (cut around the van where needed) and then glued timber flooring sheets to the insulation. This is a process often used on concrete floor in building so you have a complete thermal break between the floor of the van and the new timber floor. I’d love to hear your thoughts and loving the videos.
The frame makes it a lot easier plus it’s going to be a long job to cut out for the floor beams . So framing it up and then adding the insulation the ply on top cuts the job down to a few hrs . Also making the floor very mega solid
Thanks mate I kind of look at things like this . If I can do it any one can and let’s have some fun while we do it . Iv no time for alll this serious stuff . Thanks for watching mate
Hi Both. Enjoy the videos please keep them coming. We are just about to start our first Crafter. What size are the floor battens 25 mm x ? I’m guessing. And are they same as side battens.....Mike

We used 50mm on the roof and 25mm on the floor and then rock wool in the sides mate
Thanks for the reply. What is the insulation rated at?

Celotex mate . It it’s really the same as kingspan there isn’t much difference
