My mates cousin had his stolen while he went to the loo at a motorway services in Kent, after fitting a replacement he plugged the allen bolt and screw heads with sealant to make it awkward and slow them down if they try it again. *Top tip*
man thats one of the crazyst things iv heard , i mean there not even that dear , some people man are just bad people , im not in to all that people spend good time and money on there vans and cars just for some a hole to take stuff off , but thats a top tip man i am now going to look at replacing the bolts with something else , nice one for that dude
I never thought about a snorkel being better for the engine, but makes sense. Looks easy enough to add one. Plus it looks cool. And that's always important lol.
Yer they kind of look cool I think and you guys go all kinds of places as well I bet it would be a good call to fit one to your van . And it would look mean as well
@@UrbanVanlife Well it would have to be on our truck. We haven't got into a van. But not saying we haven't talked about it for possible future endeavor.
Alrighty... first; i never even thought about applications outside of swamping your car. Learn something new every day. Second, that shirt is freaking cool (and something i want to start doing as well). Exceptionally educational and entertaining video sir, thank you!
Haha “Like an idiot for an hour” I love your sense of humor! Great video as always my friend. Very interesting! That snorkel looks great. A wonderful addition to your van!👍😀
Cheers dude . Iv been watching your vids and got the led lights in the van hooked up to voice on Siri . Won’t work on home kit but google Assistsnt and set up to Siri trough short cuts
Hello there you are mental but I love it, I should have a dented up old lt35 turning up in the next couple of weeks on 53 plate but really low mileage. Your videos are giving me a mental picture of a raptor grey with all the other lovely bits inside so keep it up your inspiring the nation 👍 all the best from Gary and family, Hanslope milton Keynes .
see now when you wake up in the morning and see a comment like this it just gives you faith in humanity , thanks mate that made me smile , and good luck with the LT man if your on instagram follow me there and ill follow you back so i can keep up with the build. thanks gary
Great video mate! I’ve been through your previous videos when you first started the van and they’re great. Although one thing that I can’t get my head around is when you put the rivet nuts in how do they stay in place, Instead of just dropping down the panel once you take the rivet gun off? 🤷♂️😂
It looks like a way tighter fit with a right hand drive van. I have the cabin air filter box and the washer fluid fill on the other side making the ducting much easier to install.
Hi how’s doing can I ask you about drilling into van roof ?im drilling into the struts so they have 1 inch gap before touch roof skin so I use pilot drill then screw bolt into that ?or can those metal screws need pilot hole 🕳 have new 4ah erbauer drill now
Fitted my bravo Snorkel recently, it was a struggle, the supplied self drilling screws snapped, and the rivnuts stripped their threads, do ended up using M10 rivnuts and my own bolts and screws
Is the inner skin hole also 102mm? You didn't mention how you cut the inner skin hole. I have this exact snorkel to fit to my crafter, and got the rivnut tool and 102mm hole saw already.
Strange answer this mate . A friend of mine got a few of them sent to him and asked if we wanted one . It wasn’t something I’d ever think of fitting but when you get things for a fraction of the cost you have to just go for it . I know most wouldn’t fit one but I love the look and there are benefits even in the uk to having one . Sorry I couldn’t help any more mate
yes mate totaly we coverer the bare metal with hammerite , but some stuff dosnt get recorded i just expect ppl to know the basics of cutting in to metal and keeping it safe from rusting
yer when the snow blocks your front grill up you can turn the snorkel to face the rear and it wont get blocked , dont get me wrong iv never seen it in iceland or norway but its one of the things some use it for
I'm gonna have to ask you to stop making videos dude.. Every time you make one, I realise there's something else I need to my next build and it's gonna cost me a feckin fortune... lol :)
How in the fok did ya cut the inside of the body for the pipe to go through ...??? no wonder they all use a 4 " drill , and did the mirror clear it alright ...??? , you gora Sprinter now then ... ;-)
Watch here how we fitted our rear wheel hanger ruclips.net/video/aUCDkI1Hf7g/видео.html
Neil, You certainly make everything look simple!!! Thanks for this video
i just wing it with style my friend

Yer man not just for water . Infact they where designed for desert crossings . And I need me some orchard Merch let me know when it’s available
@@UrbanVanlife game on, what size shirt you like?
Get them on your shop dude and I’ll order one
Hi, how did you go about cutting the inner skin of the wing? Thanks
just whent trough with a big hole cutter mate trough one and then teh other
Great job, good info to know. Looks easy enough, and worth the effort.
Defo mate it’s not a hard job at all mate
Haha “Like an idiot for an hour”
I love your sense of humor!
Great video as always my friend. Very interesting! That snorkel looks great. A wonderful addition to your van!👍😀
dude i fought with it then had a lighbulb moment , and was like pass the pipe trough
I think it looks badass more than anything!

Looks great! I'm sure you did it, but for others - don't forget to add a bit of paint around the drill holes.
Yer we added some hammer right mate but TOTALY forgot to mention it or record it lol
@@UrbanVanlife Cool. I'm really enjoying the build!
That is a very cool device.
there really good mate , they help with the air in the van so much
Another excellent video and a job well done 🖒
Thank buddy
Great job ! ...
Thanks buddy
Your snorkel looks 😎
and its fitted as well not just a prop like most
thank you
Hmmm maybe I should get a snorkel for my Hyundai. Lol.
Oh my gosh, I love the subscribe animation towards the beginning of the video. Very cool.

Although one thing that I can’t get my head around is when you put the rivet nuts in how do they stay in place, Instead of just dropping down the panel once you take the rivet gun off? 🤷♂️😂
Basically when you squeeze the handles together it pulls the back of the riv nut upwards crushing it together and squishing it between the panel
Ok that's it! I'm selling my work van and getting Van-Life Van and a snorkel!!!
Yerrrrr man you could make one from dry wall
It looks like a way tighter fit with a right hand drive van. I have the cabin air filter box and the washer fluid fill on the other side making the ducting much easier to install.
to be honest mate i think i just made it harder than it was
Great info mate, even tho i don't own van i never thought about that application of snorkel
could be handy for jeeps too i suppose.
yer there really good if your traveling mate , you see loads of cars and vans with them on now
Good job bud 😊👍
🤚🏻👍🏼😝👍🏼
Another scary job done and made simple ✅
I’m getting a name for holes
where did you cut the second skin inside the fender? i was waiting to see how you'd do that
Hi, how did you cut the inner skin of the van for the large hole?
you will need a large hole cutter mate , and it will go trough with ease bud
Hi how’s doing can I ask you about drilling into van roof ?im drilling into the struts so they have 1 inch gap before touch roof skin so I use pilot drill then screw bolt into that ?or can those metal screws need pilot hole 🕳 have new 4ah erbauer drill now
It’s for curtain rail came loose with clips that pop out
Thanks .steve
i allways get the self tapping screws mate , otherwise you have to drill pilots , and thats a total ball ache , the self cutting screws are teh future
Can I please have the pipe that goes from the front to the air box that you took off as mine seems to be missing.
sure you can mate , message me on instagram
Will do mate
Fitted my bravo Snorkel recently, it was a struggle, the supplied self drilling screws snapped, and the rivnuts stripped their threads, do ended up using M10 rivnuts and my own bolts and screws
Oh no that’s a bloody nightmare hope you got sorted . Iv had a few self tappers do that abs man it’s a pain . So annoying
Brilliantly video bud love to fit a snorkel to mine. Where did you get this from? 🤗🤗
A friend was sent 2 of them so I got this one cheep . But you can get bravo snorkels on line
@@UrbanVanlife 🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗
That looks proper that why don't vw put these on as standard ha, how do you cut the inner hole the was it just a hole saw?
I used a hole saw mate I should have used it on the outer but her I like a do things the hard way
Does this stop the water flooding the engine as well ??
Probably . But if your that far under water I would say every electrical connection would be a massive risk
Na was just think of flood work going over the bonnet like, like a ford or something
Love it 😬😬 where did you find this ? And are they around for a T4 😏
Amazon mate and I’m sure you can get them for a T4 mate
Is the inner skin hole also 102mm? You didn't mention how you cut the inner skin hole.
I have this exact snorkel to fit to my crafter, and got the rivnut tool and 102mm hole saw already.
Just use the big old hole saw on the inner as well mate go trough both skins
@@UrbanVanlife perfect thanks mate.
@@UrbanVanlife have you any water build up in your pipes or air box Neil?
Hi mate, what size hole saw did you use? Cheers
Mega mate
no swimming tho ,
looked simple enough. what was up with the scotch tape you had on the van there for a bit?
thanks mate , i had the tape on it so i didn't scratch the van while i was use in jig saw on the van body , i didnt explain this

how did you cut the hole for the inner skin? must be hard to get a jig saw in there? great video otherwise
It was hard but I had a air jig saw which worked perfect but was a battle
Hi mate
Where did you buy your snorkel??
I bought it off a friend who had a few of them he bought them from bravo
vous ne traite pas la coupe contre la rouille ????
yes mate totaly we coverer the bare metal with hammerite , but some stuff dosnt get recorded i just expect ppl to know the basics of cutting in to metal and keeping it safe from rusting
Never showed cutting inner wing
A snorkel against snow? I've never seen that in Germany/Austria but maybe i missed it.

Noooo I like cutting holes lol bit scary at first but then you get over that
