    As long as it’s sealed and dry then it’s job done. You could always stick some candles in it on your birthday 😂😂😎👍🏻

    As most vans lean downhill to the front. Water will pool at the back every time it rains. Recommend keeping an eye on the back as 221 will go mouldy quite quickly when submerged for prolonged periods. No easy solution for that but to be mindful to monitor it😊

    Well done; it’s always a sticky job. I would strongly advise that you use a mask when cutting MDF; it can really mess your lungs up.

    As long as it’s waterproof and out of sight 😳 who cares? Probably me 🥴 but I would just attach that extra piece, stick it on neatly, then use dark sealant. I wouldn’t chance more screws, it’s purely aesthetic 🤣. Or as I would say to my husband, to tidy up your sh*** mess. Sorry Shaun, I’m just jesting, you’re really doing a fantastic job 😊. Thanks for sharing your experience. I couldn’t even dream of doing our own conversion.

    Hello.
    Wish you for a good van living journeys!
    And now some guestions!
    1).This type of fan bring air from outside
    in the van or
    just only sends out the excistance vans air?
    Something else important.
    2).If after years the electric vent stops working.
    Is it possible to fix it from inside the van without puting it out and damage the excistance construction?
    3).
    If someone puts
    one of them in
    the van roof,
    do you think
    it is enough
    for a good ventilation or it is better to have two of them installed in the roof?
    Thank you.

    have you used moisture resistant MDF? if not you will need to seal it or it will absorb moisture like a sponge, go soft and crumble, some clear varnish will sort it

      Hi there. Thank you very much for watching. This is the one I purchased. Unfortunately it’s showing out of stock but hopefully it’ll be back in stock soon. www.melloronline.co.uk/Heater_Installation_Accessories_/12351/Eberspacher_VW_Crafter_2017_%3E_Fuel_Pick_Up_Kit.html?fbclid=IwAR32W1qN_zW8qrYbLauVj0ufGh_krk5ztONIHTetTOGex0Hqmdb_XQiQEA8
      I think it would drain the tank if the heater is left on but I’m not 100% sure. Unless the heater can detect when it’s low but I doubt it.
      Thanks again for watching

    Thanks for the video. I bought this exact same fan to replace an existing fan on a cargo van. There are couple of things I'm confused about this fan, I appreciate if you can help. The LED ring that goes from the inside, is it supposed to slide into the circular body of the fan, or does it stay outside? I still haven't installed my fan, but the LED ring doesn't fit into the circular body of the fan, no matter how hard I tried.
    Also, the adapter ring you put on the outside, is that an accessory you bought? I don't believe it comes with the fan. Do you need to have that, or you did that for roof thickness purposes? As far as the "plywood ring" from the inside, again is that something you did to add thickness, or just reinforcement for the fan? I have to do that from the inside because my fan bounces up and down with the thin sheet metal of the van roof to reinforce the roof and make it stable and no bouncing up and down.

    • @ABusAndBeyond
      @ABusAndBeyond  Год назад +1

      You should have an inner plastic collar that fits into the fan and the LED ring. That collar needs cutting down depending on the thickness of your roof.
      Also the adaptor was ours based separately. It just helped to even put the roof making it easier to seal up. I’ll try and find the link to where it was bought from.
      I put the plywood in there to add some strength as the roof is really thin as you’ve found out

    • @ustaarthur
      @ustaarthur Год назад

      @@ABusAndBeyond I do have the long collar but I won't be using it because my roof is thin. But I am definitely going to make a reinforcement out of plywood (maybe 1/2") from the inside.

    • @ABusAndBeyond
      @ABusAndBeyond  Год назад

      @ustaarthur if you’re using the fan to vent moisture out the van I’d definitely use the collar otherwise you’ll get moisture in the gap.

    • @ustaarthur
      @ustaarthur Год назад

      @@ABusAndBeyond It's a cargo van so not really for moisture, just ventilation. I'm just replacing an existing one that doesn't work well and is a little broken from outside. I probably wouldn't install one if there was none.

    We did our first campervan trip this weekend, a case of try before we buy. I really struggled to sleep with the heater on due to the ticking of the pump for the diesel heater. Did we just get a loud one in ours or is it usual? Is there a silent option?

    • @ABusAndBeyond
      @ABusAndBeyond  Год назад

      I think it can vary. Can you get access to the diesel pump? Maybe it needs changing or maybe you can fit some form of sound dampener between it and your camper van?

    hi With the dome Fan from Maxxfan fitted; does rain come in via the fan went wet outside and windy?

    • @ABusAndBeyond

    Why are you not fully carpeting all the door metal/painted surfaces? One full piece of carpet, trimmed and glued on looks much better than how you’ve done yours, as well as better insulated.

    Spraying water onto silicones then smoothing it out only allows water to get between both mating surfaces and not fully sealing the joint. You should smooth out first, then spray and final smooth and clean. Real amateur hour

      @@ABusAndBeyond you are brave for cutting into the metal of a new van; I wouldn't risk it. I had a friend who was ' fit as a butchers dog' but started having breathing issues and it was put down to cutting MDF over a long period without using a mask. My Dad lost the sight in one eye by not using safety glasses whilst working on a vehicle; before these experiences it didn't even cross my mind. Take care. Really enjoying the build.
