Very informative vid for others thinking of doing a conversation Rich. Not as scary a job as you would first think. Looking forward to the rest of this build👍
@@Bugoutvehiclesuk We did have some fitted with a basket type guard with mesh so you could still see filter, made by a third party, do not know the make unfortunately.
Looking forward to seeing the merc come together, got me considering a bit of van life now! Also liking your new style of videos, seem more confident and engaging 👍🏻👍🏻
Another good vid, be careful about having open drink containers in passenger side drink holders. We use these vans for work and have a few have issues as fluids run down from there and knacker electrics below stopping van starting. Look forward to seeing the rest of this build
Hi there I'm trying to find a, suitable snorkel recommendation for fitting on my Renault Trafik. Looked all over but got no joy so far. Liked and subscribed 😊
Great video, as usual. Very neat fitment. Couple of OCD tips when fitting a snorkel.... Cover an area larger than the template with masking tape, and then stick the template to the masking tape. You'll generate a LOT of hot swarf as you drill holes (especially if you end up using a dremel to tidy up or enlarge the hole) and it'll fall down behind the template and can damage your paint while the template is keeping it all pressed against the paint. When you're fitting the top mounting bracket, check that you're not going to be drilling through any spot-welds in the a-pillar. If there IS a spot-weld where you need to drill a hole, forget about drilling that hole. You'll struggle to drill the hole, break drills and end up just ruining the paint so either ignore that hole or drill it in a slightly different place and then drill a matching hole in the bracket. Dunno if this actually applies to the Sprinter but it definitely DOES apply to some other vehicles (such as my Disco 2) so use your loaf and check for spot-welds before you start drilling.
The Fred Dibnah of 4x4’s & off road campers as always informative and interesting.
Very informative vid for others thinking of doing a conversation Rich. Not as scary a job as you would first think. Looking forward to the rest of this build👍

Great job Rich , I'm enjoying watching the build 😀
Very nice to see the van coming on!
Great to see the start of the conversation,
Glad to see Rob back for the eye candy 😉
Working with him now. He said hello.
4x4 works should direct people to your video for the fitting of it. great video with little tips in it to make fitting it easier or less daunting
That’s a good shout. I’d appreciate it if you passed the feedback on to them.
@@Bugoutvehiclesuk and done!!!
Great video. Top tip. Rub some grease or vaseline on the rivnuts to stop water being trapped in the compressed joint
Looking forward to more episodes on the Merc. Great content as usual.
Cracking idea with the hole saw, look bang on we can go play now
Sounds like a plan
Looking forward to the rest of this build... :)
Great bit of kit thanks for sharing the install 👍
Had one of those cyclone air filters on a Cat/JCB, we all thought it would break when out on site but never did, good choice.
Thanks pal. Just the low trees to watch out for.

Iv not got a Renault trafic so it’s not something Iv looked into unfortunately.
Cool vid. I like the idea of the optional snorkel inlet. I don't think that I've seen any of those here in the States.
They are about but US prices are 5 times more to suite your incomes. Scary how much things are if we need them.
Nice one!
Nice one 👍🏽
Thanks
‘Thumb it in there!!’ 😵😂😂😂
😂
Great vid thanks dudes.
Haha I thought I recognised that workshop me old mate Rob n Steve Trimesh engineering mad as a box of frogs pair of them
Nice!
Great Video!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you.
Hey RUclips, this video is worth watching!
How water tight is the air box? Does that need attention too?
It’s alright. Good seals and it’s the highest point in the engine bay
Proving once again, that you just need to brush past issues aside and look to the future.
Thank you.
To be honest is a snorkel really necessary for the amount of water wading you do?
hey youtube, this is a video worth watching
No airbag in that pillar?
Is a 10 year old van. It has 1 airbag
