    Never torque in a circle. Always torque in a star pattern. That way the cover gets torqued down evenly.

    Now you need the @Agileoffroad wheel speed sensor covers. I just put those on and now I'm ordering the Agile Diff Cover.

    Don't use sandpaper, bristle discs, abrasive pads, cups or wheels to clean the housing surface. You almost certainly will introduce some abrasive debris into the housing. Such products typically are made with extremely hard abrasives such as silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, ceramic abrasives, etc. These contaminates will increase wear of gear surfaces and bearings and shorten their life. A razor blade and carburetor cleaner are the best bet. Then clean the housing with carburetor cleaner, paint thinner or similar and let completely dry.

    When you are changing dif oil, first check to see that you can remove the filler plug. If that is stuck or stripped and cannot be removed and you drain the oil, then you got a bigger problem.

      Good advice in general. In Chris' case, the fill plug was on the new diff cover.

    Well done. I noticed a while back that you did not have a diff skid plate. I should have warned you. Sorry I didn’t. The skid plate was one of the first mods I made to my Revel. The AO cover is actually a neater solution.

    Nice work, Chris.
    Yes, the stock dif cover on the MB Sprinter is prone to injury and it need not be anything more than running over tire fragments (or a piece of wood) on the highway to smack that flange and create issues.
    We too flipped out the stock dif cover to an Agile.
    We are but RWD but the issue is real for all Sprinter owners.

    I had this happen to me in my 2015 JK. Surprised to see your Jeep stock cover didn’t have a lip like mine did. I ended up changing them both out like you did with your Revel.

    noticed the leak after tire rotation at Firestone, saw the tech used the differential as a jack point, now i see whats the cause.

    In wild terrains, a Sprinter roams,
    Agile offroad, it finds its own,
    With differential's strength, it dares,
    Venture4wd captures epic affairs.

    Good to know you go the diff going. But for the faulty diff cover you could sue Mercedes or Winnebago for providing something that does not hold up on terrain that it is meant to traverse.

      They typically don't expect the masses to be rockin' and rollin', we were happy to fill in the gap in the off-roading world...Maybe we should get the manufacturers on the phone to help them out.... 🧐

      @manuluvshahalia 11 месяцев назад

      @@Agileoffroad if it were an occasional occurrence you wouldn't have come out with the diff cover. Wouldn't be profitable. So it's actually a real issue with the Sprinter for which a class action is impending. You are just delaying/mitigating it.
